Mindless Beasts

Chapter 46: Ambushed in the sunken garden (1)

You would think by now Sly would have gotten used to being taken advantage of by this powerful S-tier alpha.

He vividly recalled when they kissed for the first time.

Sly was so stunned, his senses dulled when he should have pushed Khaldun away.

Or when he tried to thrust a kiss on Khaldun acting like an aggressor his inexperience showed that he lacked skills.

Just mashed their lips together in hopes that Khaldun would take over.

Feeling ashamed when Khaldun didn’t react, Sly retreated.

Then Khaldun suddenly pressed a hand on the back of Sly’s head and tilted his head back.

Pushing them closer together intimately and not leaving even an inch of space.

Letting Sly finally enjoy what a real unhurried kiss felt like.

Sly didn’t mind Khaldun’s teasing flirty kisses but they were out in the open.

Now Khaldun’s right hand had lowered and was caressing his firm derriere.

"Hey!"... "That’s too much, hey!"

Khaldun’s mismatched eyes twinkled.

Those heavy lidded, sleep deprived eyes of the alpha’s showed terrible possessiveness and a tinge of desperation.

That made Sly Foxx shrink back and watch helplessly as Khaldun Wolfe reached out and caressed his chin, fingering his dimples and then gently planted a kiss on his forehead.

"You must become my exclusive guide," murmured Khaldun.

While he skillfully lifted Sly and wrapped his legs around Khaldun’s waist.

Before Sly could ask him to repeat his statement much less to protest Khaldun’s quick touches, the S-tier alpha was already reaching out to lift Sly’s shirt upwards.

When some beeping sounds from his spirit watch went off and Sly breathed a sigh of relief before sliding down.

Khaldun checked his messages, "the food finally arrived."

Both of them had been so passionately intertwined when Shelby left the food delivery behind.

"How did you manage to sneak food onto the hospital grounds?" exclaimed Sly.

Sly thought for sure that they would be eating some kind of unidentifiable mush from the hospital’s canteen for their first meal together.

Khaldun ran up the steep flight of steps solo to grab the bag and returned to the wooden picnic table where Sly had already taken a seat in eager anticipation of the food.

It was a very large thermal bag with several containers of food, too much for two people in Sly’s opinion.

Khaldun harumphed, "This is nothing, I’m the firstborn of a General not to mention royalty."

It must be nice to have servants at your beck and call, mused Sly silently.

Meanwhile the servants in question landed in a cavernous pothole and pulled over to check if the phantom was alright.

Khaldun took out a small bottle of hand sanitizer and offered it to Sly.

Sly accepted Khaldun’s offering with a smile and said mischievously, "you think you’re that important?"

Khaldun just snorted and advised, "eat it while it’s hot."

He handed Sly a bowl of chicken soup, bragging that the best chef at Paradise had cooked it before placing the bowl on the table in front of Sly.

Hungry, Sly accepted a spoon from Khaldun and took his first sip of the soup.

It was just what he needed as the warmth slid down his throat.

The soup itself was mixtures of pungent spices, it had a slight medicinal taste.

An aroma of spicy herbal blends wafted through the air.

It was deliciously addictive and Sly drank his soup quietly while glancing occasionally at Khaldun.

The alpha opened a container filled with mixed salad, another with a huge portion of rice and last of all was a container file with crispy golden fried chicken that made Sly drool.

When Sly shot Khaldun a pitiful look the S-tier alpha ignored him and pointed to the half full soup container indicating that he could help himself to more chicken soup if he was not full.

Just then Khaldun poured a small container filled with sauce over the well cooked chicken.

Neatly nestled on a bed of firm white rice sat a thin layer of honey & golden sesame oil floating luxuriously on the surface.

Sly’s mouth watered.

Denied, he grumpily took his last spoonful of soup and then frustratingly set the spoon down on the table.

Before he could even contemplate snatching that fork full of tempting golden crispy fried chicken heading towards Khaldun’s mouth.

A knife came whizzing through the air and landed in the middle of the table.

The couple that was sitting nonchalantly facing each other’s eyes met for a moment before Khaldun’s expression changed and both mismatched eyes turned red with outrage.

When the assertive intruder didn’t bother to use the steep flight of stairs that led to the sunken garden but decisively jumped down instead Sly knew he meant serious business.

Worst of all he was a spirit bone user!

As a spirit bone user himself Sly could see his spirit beast essence was at least an emerald stage.

The newcomer walked towards them and Sly felt him coming like a psychic wind sending shivers down his spine

He was covered from head to toe in camouflage like a rugged mercenary.

Looking like a reject from a local army, Sly had never seen a normal person fully commit to camouflage in that fashion making it clear he was up to no good.

A long white beard and a thin mustache jutted out from the sharp contours of his face.

In Sly’s lifetime he had only ever encountered two people who wielded that same kind spirit bone essence which was his father, ahem Lord Duncan and Dr. Peter Jennings.

Sly jumped up from the bench and shouted, "Khaldun run, I’ll hold him off. This is no ordinary alpha."

He wasn’t surprised that Khaldun didn’t run instead he planted himself in front of Sly with a protective stance.

"Lord Wolfe, I find it most offensive when a Royal Alpha picks up a lowly omega bastard from the trash. That’s a personal pet peeve of mine," the mercenary said politely.

While playful brandishing another sharp expensive knife from out of thin air.

His eyes narrowed, irritatingly at the so-called trash omega hiding behind Khaldun’s broad back.

Faced with a mix of resentment yet gentle with a condescending smile.

While his voice sounded like someone from the aristocracy that had fallen on hard times, very staunch and upper crust.

Invested, the mercenary continued speaking as if he loved hearing the sound of his own voice, "Do you have such little control over your plaything?"
