Sly ignored the question because he knew Verde was just asking it to deliberately get a rise out of Khaldun.
Instead Sly walked over to Khaldun’s side and asked, "are you joining us?"
Verde saw this scene unfold before him, and he suddenly closed his mouth and stopped talking.
Khaldun Wolfe, who had a fierce temper, originally wanted to punch Verde in the face but held back after Sly made an appearance.
He adjusted the zipper on his pants that had been down when he rushed to confront Verde at the gate.
Telling him to wait outside but in a fit of rage, seeing Khaldun shabbily dressed after coming out of what could only beSly’s bedroom.
An enraged Verde flew past Khaldun to enter the apartment.
Verde acted like a madman who caught his lover in another man’s bed and was looking for proof to confront them.
The way Verde looked at Khaldun was as if he was worse than someone else’s nasty gum stuck to the bottom of his shoe or even worse like he stepped in a pile of hot, steaming shit.
In Verde’s eyes Khaldun had become a horny villain that was forcefully trying to separate him from his beloved.
For the first time in his life the popular A+ alpha on campus questioned his own charismatic personality.
Out of vanity Verde wanted to run to a mirror and see if he lost his appealing handsome looks.
Why was Verde cursed in the romance department?
How come such a pretty little beauty prefers to stick to the callous, cold hearted Khaldun Wolfe and not find Verde more approachable?
More surprisingly, after Sly made his appearance it was almost as if Verde’s presence had been forgotten.
The S-tier alpha only had eyes for Sly, the usually emotionless Khaldun Wolfe lit up like a light bulb in Sly’s presence, barely spared Verde a backwards glance.
Khaldun’s dramatic shift from anger to a tone which was exaggeratedly obsequious, "Sly, hope you had a good shower. Unfortunately, I won’t be joining you both since I have somewhere else to be in another forty minutes."
The S-tier alpha spoke with such an obvious fawning tone, without a trace of the violent rage that had been previously directed at Verde.
No one in the room fell for his act but Sly felt relieved, pleased that Khaldun had listened to him when he asked him not to physically fight with Verde anymore.
Sly knew full well a fight between alphas had just been avoided.
He certainly didn’t want to be left homeless, his apartment destroyed from an altercation between the two top tier alphas in their prime.
Verde curiously glanced at Khaldun.
The duplicitous Royal Alpha changed faces as fast as those drama sitcoms that were trending throughout the interstellar and most popular amongst bored housewives.
Verde had never heard of Khaldun being so enamored with an omega before who wouldn’t be smitten with Sly who had a natural beauty and wanted to stay by his side.
Could Khaldun continue to wear the crown of the rumored ice prince who refused all omegas?
How shocked would the denizens of the Ephedra Empire be if they saw their beloved idol fawning over a commoner.
Verde didn’t mince words, "then don’t let us keep you any longer, hurry up and leave."
It wasn’t like the conflict between himself and Khaldun was a secret; it was already all over campus that they had fought over Sly yesterday.
He wasn’t born rich like Khaldun, everything Verde possessed he worked hard to accomplish.
It was thanks to his good uncle, an instructor at Paradise Military Academy that he got into this institution.
Verde hadn’t been interested in dating any of the vapid, air headed omegas until Sly came along, he was different and unique.
Now because of some hidden innate desire to please Sly, they both still managed to maintain some level of decorum and superficial calmness in order to not panic the little omega.
Khaldun frowned, at Verde’s provocation he just stood motionless, not even sparing the A+ alpha a glance.
Surprising Verde, who deliberately intended to act overbearing was thrown of his game by the oppressive aura emanating from Khaldun which was much worse than yesterday.
Khaldun didn’t react or answer Verde since he didn’t want to be scolded by Sly.
Verde was completely baffled by Khaldun’s behavior which was completely different from yesterday’s arrogant attitude; he wondered how long Khaldun intended to keep this act going.
Khaldun walked over to the fridge and pulled out two nutrient tubes that he had saved for Sly.
"Have this for breakfast before you go."
The S-tier alpha knew that the omega didn’t want to go to the morning practice session and it was hard to believe that in his own way he was trying to comfort Sly.
Khaldun was becoming more and more skilled at manipulating Sly.
He made another mental note on his spiritbracelet to order more of the strawberry flavored nutrient solution for the growing omega who needed to increase his appetite.
Sly said, "okay."
He extended his hand to accept the two tubes politely.
The little omega looked small and delicate standing between the two fierce alphas.
Sly graciously accepted his own nutrient tubes and Khaldun doubted he even made that connection.
Now it was Khaldun’s turn to feel out of place and uneasy, as the other two kept exchanging glances and staring at the alpha’s because of the out of character, act of kindness.
After exchanging goodbyes with Sly, Khaldun finally left but not before giving Sly a warm cozy hug in front of Verde.
Verde frowned, in the space of a night how much closer had those two gotten that they could hug without looking awkward.
He watched as Sly’s eyes followed Khaldun out the door.
Sly didn’t even realize that he should run away when being bullied by the S-tier alpha.
Instead Sly was all smiles foolishly sticking to the person who would only mistreat him in the future.
A faint smile appeared on Verde’s lips accompanied by a strange glint in his eyes, even unnoticed by the A+ alpha himself.
He would be there to pick up the pieces when things fell apart.
For now it was time for them to head out and start their training session.
