My CEO Husband Says I'm Irreplaceable

Chapter 140: Slapping Faces with Evidence

Chapter 140: Chapter 140: Slapping Faces with Evidence

A flash of guilt crossed Summer’s eyes. She retorted hastily, "Clearly, you’re the one who’s shameless and promiscuous. Don’t think you can just find an excuse to shift the blame. Nolan won’t believe you."

"Heh." Shiloh sneered, her gaze drifting over to Nolan Forrester. "Your taste has really gone downhill. How can you fall for any old phony?"

"Who are you calling a phony?" Summer’s face flushed with anger.

Shiloh replied calmly, "If the shoe fits."

"You..." Summer’s eyes instantly reddened. She lowered her head and wiped away tears, looking as if she had suffered a terrible injustice. "Shiloh Sloan, I’ve done nothing to you. Why do you have to target me? Nolan and I only got together after you two broke up. Even if you’re bitter and jealous, you shouldn’t embarrass me in front of all our classmates."

As she finished speaking, she lowered her head and sobbed, as delicate as a willow in the wind—a truly pitiable sight.

Many of the male classmates present immediately felt a surge of pity and began to stand up for her.

"Shiloh Sloan, that was way too harsh. Summer is so innocent and kind. Do you really have to be so aggressive?"

"Exactly. Back when you were with Nolan, Summer never tried to get in your way, even though she liked him. You were the one who didn’t appreciate what you had. It was your own shameless behavior that gave others an opening."

"Being jealous now is useless. Don’t even think about breaking them up."

"If we’d known you’d be such a buzzkill, we shouldn’t have invited you to the reunion."

The group chimed in, every word defending Summer.

Suddenly, Shiloh Sloan raised her hands and began to clap softly.

"Bravo, truly well said. Anyone else want to speak for her? Go on, say your piece."

Her nonchalant attitude stunned the crowd into silence, leaving them momentarily at a loss for words.

"Shiloh Sloan, have you gone crazy?" Luna Hughes asked, her face filled with disgust.

Shiloh couldn’t be bothered to answer her, her gaze sweeping across the room.

"I don’t see a class reunion here. This is clearly a simp convention. You’re all so eager to speak up for Summer, but in her mind, none of you are even worthy of being her dogs."

Her words were a direct insult, calling them lower than animals.

Everyone’s faces alternated between pale and red, their expressions turning utterly livid.

Summer, who had been secretly gloating on the side, immediately jumped in at her words, choking out, "Shiloh, we’re all classmates. They were just being kind, seeing me get bullied... How could you say such things? Nolan, look at her..."

She was counting on Nolan Forrester to stand up for her.

After all, he was Shiloh Sloan’s first love. A single word from him would be enough to humiliate and devastate Shiloh.

’There’s nothing more heartbreaking than being discarded like an old shoe by the man you once loved most.’

Nolan Forrester’s voice was icy. "Have you caused enough of a scene? You’re all piling on with slander without even figuring out the truth. Is this what you call having class?"

The private room was instantly plunged into dead silence.

No one dared to offend Nolan Forrester.

After graduation, he had taken over his family’s New York branch and single-handedly turned the failing enterprise around. Now, it had grown to a scale that even surpassed Forrester Corporation’s Northolme headquarters. He was a true powerhouse in the business world.

Summer’s eyes widened in disbelief, her hands gripping the hem of her clothes tightly.

’Why... why would Nolan defend Shiloh Sloan?’

’Does he still have feelings for that bitch?’

"Shiloh Sloan, since you claim you were set up back then, I assume you’ve already gathered quite a bit of evidence?"

Nolan Forrester’s deep voice was especially clear in the quiet room.

Shiloh was stunned. ’How could he know?’

"Many of us here were witnesses back then. Since you have evidence, just show it. Let everyone see the truth and clear your name."

Vesper Grayson narrowed her eyes slightly. ’Nolan Forrester’s words are so strange. It’s as if he already knew Shiloh had evidence.’

’Could it be...’

Shiloh’s icy gaze swept to the person beside him. "Summer, what do you think? Should I show it?"

A wave of panic hit Summer, but she forced herself to remain calm. "Why are you asking me? It has nothing to do with me."

’She won’t cry until she sees the coffin.’

Shiloh was curious to see just how long she could keep up this stubborn act.

She raised her hand to call a waiter, took a USB drive from her bag, and handed it over.

"Please play this."

The waiter plugged the USB drive into the large screen’s port, and the giant screen in the center of the room slowly lit up.

A strong sense of unease rose in Summer’s heart, but she comforted herself: ’All the evidence from back then was destroyed. I paid more than enough hush money. It’s impossible for Shiloh Sloan to have any dirt on me. This whole scene today is just a bluff.’

But as the video appeared frame by clear frame, the entire room erupted in an uproar.

Summer’s face changed drastically. She rushed forward like a madwoman, trying to pull out the USB drive, but Nolan Forrester grabbed her wrist firmly before she could.

"Nolan..." Her whole body went cold, her voice trembling.

Nolan Forrester didn’t look at her, his dark eyes locked unblinkingly on the large screen.

The video showed the complete transaction of Summer hiring someone to destroy Shiloh Sloan’s innocence. Her voice echoed clearly into every corner of the room:

"I want you to destroy Shiloh Sloan’s innocence. Once it’s done, I’ll give you five hundred thousand."

"Miss Summers, she’s just a young girl. Isn’t this going a bit too far?"

"If you don’t want to do it, then get lost. There are plenty of others who will."

"No, no, no, I’ll do it! I need the money. I’ll do anything for money."

"Good. Don’t disappoint me. Put her through hell. The more miserable, the better."

After the man left, the Summer on camera had a vicious expression and a venomous tone, without a trace of her usual gentleness.

"That bitch Shiloh Sloan thinks she’s worthy of fighting me for a man? Once her reputation is in tatters, let’s see what face she has left to stand in front of Nolan!"

As the video continued to play, the room was dead silent for a moment before erupting with suppressed shock and uproar.

The way everyone looked at Summer completely changed. Their gazes were filled with contempt, disgust, and scorn—ice-cold, without a trace of their earlier pity.

Summer’s face was ashen, and she trembled all over. "It’s not real... This isn’t real! Shiloh Sloan forged this! She framed me on purpose!"

But her defense was feeble and ridiculous. This time, no one was willing to believe her.

"Hey, Jason, don’t you do post-production video editing? You can tell if this video is real or fake at a glance, right?"

Jason Rivers was silent for a moment before speaking in a deep voice, "The camera movement, the light and shadow layers, the audio waveforms—they all match up. There are no traces of post-production compositing. This is the original footage, completely unaltered."

Summer’s face instantly turned deathly pale.

"So she was the one who deliberately framed Shiloh Sloan... She’s so vicious."

"And we were all fooled by her innocent act for so long."

"She was willing to ruin someone’s life just to steal a man. That’s insane."

"Acting all pure and harmless on the surface, but full of dark schemes underneath. It’s disgusting."

"And to think we even spoke up for her. Turns out we were just pawns she was using from the very beginning."

"If it were any other girl, she probably wouldn’t have been able to go on living after what Summer did to her."

"You can know a person’s face, but not their heart. Today, we’ve finally seen her true colors."

Nolan Forrester lowered his gaze, his voice devoid of any warmth. "Summer, do you have anything left to say in your defense?"
