Chapter 175

Elder Ting shot to his feet, his face serious as he looked at the scene below with an expression filled with pure astonishment and shock... or if anything, more than shocked, as he was simply stunned.

Earlier, he had already considered the possibility that Haoran might have achieved another legendary state, but he had quickly pushed that thought aside, after all, because finding someone who had already achieved one of the legendary states was already beyond amazing and a miracle unlike any other.

The legendary states were not something that could simply be comprehended through hard work or obtained through talent alone, since even among the countless geniuses that had appeared throughout history, those who had managed to touch the threshold of a legendary state could be counted on one’s fingers.

Yet now... finding another person who was able to achieve another legendary state again, in the same place, on the same day, and amidst the same group of youngsters?

That couldn’t possibly be possible, because it was simply too ridiculous, which was why Elder Ting had forcefully pushed the thought out of his mind and instead waited for the boy’s figure to be revealed.

And now that it had finally happened... he could no longer keep his calm. As a powerful elder of a powerful sect, Elder Ting was naturally privy to a vast amount of knowledge, having spent countless years studying ancient records, witnessing countless battles, and learning about the various extraordinary states that had once appeared throughout history.

Among that vast ocean of knowledge was information regarding the legendary states, and that knowledge made it more than clear: what the kid below had achieved was yet another legendary state... The State of Overflow.

Elder Ting’s widened gaze remained fixed on Haoran’s body, the shock on his face barely concealed, as there was no doubt about it that that kid had achieved one of the legendary states, the State of Overflow. "The State of Overflow..."

Elder Ting muttered again, almost as if saying the name aloud would help him believe what he was seeing.

The other clan leaders seated close to Elder Ting were able to hear his words, causing their gazes to immediately change and shock to ripple through their eyes. As the leaders of great clans, of course they knew about the legendary states, knowing exactly what kind of terrifying power those states could grant their users.

The State of Flow that Li Feng had managed to achieve was one of those legendary states, and now... once again, they were seeing another figure who had achieved another legendary state: The State of Overflow.

For a moment, none of the clan leaders spoke, their eyes remaining locked on Haoran, finding it difficult to believe that two legendary states, two different youngsters, one tournament, and one day could result in something that could be described as unprecedented even within the long history of the cultivation world.

Shi Gubing finally realized why Guan Ju had remained calm all along, knowing his confidence wasn’t unfounded... or rather, letting him rephrase that, his confidence was completely solid.

Everyone knew just how strong the legendary states could be, as they could cause one’s power to soar to an entirely different level the moment they were stepped into.

The battle between Li Feng and Shi Yuan was a perfect example that everyone present had witnessed, where Li Feng had initially been completely overwhelmed by Shi Yuan yet the moment he entered the State of Flow, the entire situation had been reversed: the person who had previously been suppressed became the one doing the suppressing, and the one who had been desperately defending himself became the one forcing his opponent backward.

That was how terrifying a legendary state could be, as it didn’t simply provide a slight increase in strength, but could completely transform the balance of a battle.

And they had all seen it with their own eyes. Now... they were witnessing another bearer of another legendary state, but this one was different from Li Feng’s State of Flow.

While Li Feng’s state was calm and radiated a kind of serene dominance, the State of Overflow was completely different, radiating raging and suppressive dominance as though Haoran’s very existence was declaring that everything before him was weak, that everything beneath his gaze was insignificant, and that no one had the right to even dare look him dead in the eyes.

That was the kind of aura radiating from Guan Haoran’s body right now, his very figure being enough to make even the most veteran warriors feel a chill run down their spines.

There was something oppressive about him, something that made the instincts of warriors scream, and it wasn’t simply because of the amount of Qi surrounding his body, but the feeling that his body itself had become a bottomless source of power where his Qi was overflowing, his aura was overflowing, and even the pressure he released seemed to have no limit.

Meanwhile, while the elders and leaders were still coming to terms with the fact that yet another unprecedented event in history was happening in this tournament, the crowd and audience watching the battle were once again stunned into silence, having already been through too many reversals.

At the beginning, it was Guan Haoran who had started the battle with overwhelming dominance, his incredible defense leaving the audience shocked and many beginning to believe that Liyu had finally encountered someone who possessed more raw power than him... until Liyu began to gain the upper hand.

The battle had gradually shifted as Liyu began forcing Haoran backward and even managed to deal actual damage to the seemingly indestructible body of the big guy.

Then Haoran got serious, and the battle shifted once again, with Haoran beginning dominating and his terrifying strength pushing Liyu to his wit’s end.

But then... it happened again, as Liyu seemed to break yet another limit, his power surged, and he was once again able to deal more and more damage to Haoran’s body, causing blood to begin to flow and the supposedly overwhelming Haoran to bleed, making it seem once again as though Liyu was about to take the victory.

Yet Haoran broke his own limit once more, his power erupted, and his attacks became so terrifying that each one seemed capable of being compared to a cannon blast, repeatedly blasting Liyu backward and bringing him dangerously close to death.

The two battled, clashed, and tore through each other’s limits again and again, seeming as though neither of them was willing to remain beneath the other or felt equally matched.

But Liyu was eventually pushed to the brink once more, and that was when he broke another limit as a dangerous bestial aura erupted around his body... wild, primal, terrifying, wrapping around him like an ancient beast awakening from an endless slumber.

His power skyrocketed, his speed increased, his physical strength became even more terrifying, and with that newfound power... Liyu easily crushed Haoran.

At that moment, everyone had thought the battle was finally over, thinking Liyu had reached the end of his limits while Haoran had finally been pushed into defeat.

But now... they realized they had been wrong once again, because Guan Haoran had broken his own limit too, and this time, what he had stepped into wasn’t simply another increase in strength, but one of the legendary states: the State of Overflow.

Many could see that the battle was over, or at least, that was what the entire arena believed... that was until Haoran stood back up, and once again seemed to shatter his limit, enabling him to deal with Liyu by sending the latter crashing hard into the massive pillar with what seemed like nothing more than a casual attack.

The entire arena fell into another wave of disbelief, wondering how many times these two could possibly break their limits and rise after being pushed to what should have been their absolute boundaries.

Over and over again, the duo battled, with the dominant side constantly switching between them: one moment Liyu was overwhelming Haoran, the next Haoran was suppressing Liyu, then Liyu would somehow find another reserve of strength hidden within his body and turn the entire battle around once more, before Haoran would do the same.

It was almost as though neither of them was willing to accept the possibility of being beneath the other, making the crowd’s blood pump harder and harder as they were shocked, thrilled, and excited beyond belief.

At this point, nobody even knew what kind of ridiculous development would happen next, as all they wanted was to see who would come out on top in this battle and become the sole winner of this match to advance to the final.

The battle between these two anomalies had already gone far beyond what anyone could have expected, becoming a combination of attrition and dominance with both sides continuously dragging the other into deeper and deeper waters, neither seeming willing to yield or collapse, and the longer it continued, the more excited the crowd became.

While the crowd was full of enthusiasm and thrilled beyond belief at the match, waiting in anticipation and excitement to see who would eventually come out on top in the battle between the two anomalies...

Liyu was far from being thrilled, with pain ravaging his entire body and his hands feeling slightly numb from the pain that had spread through every inch of them.

He didn’t need anyone to tell him, because he already knew that Haoran had gotten stronger once more, and it was far from being a small increase, given that the fact his bones had groaned and creaked under that single attack alone was enough to make him wary.

Liyu forced his body up from the massive hole he had created in the pillar, his sore body aching all over while the phantom of the pain from that earlier attack still lingered throughout his body, and clenched his hands before unclenched them, repeating the motion several times because he needed to regain the feeling in them.

Only after doing it repeatedly did he finally begin to feel his fingers properly again.

If there was yet another major boost and good effect that came with his current Beast Form, then surely it would be his ridiculous healing ability, because his bones had definitely suffered small cracks from that attack... there was absolutely no doubt about it... yet they were already healing, or rather, not healing, but completely healed.

Liyu’s eyes narrowed slightly as he realized this was another advantage of his Hybrid Form where his healing had become passive, meaning he didn’t need to deliberately circulate his Primal Qi through his body to strengthen his damaged flesh and repair his injuries, since his body simply did it on its own.

It was one of the greatest advantages of his current form, allowing him, as long as he remained transformed, to continuously repair himself and recover from injuries that would have taken an ordinary cultivator a considerable amount of time to heal from.

But, of course... there was another side effect: the fact that his Primal Qi was dwindling more and more the longer he remained in his Hybrid Form.

His healing might be passive, his physical strength might be monstrous, and his regeneration might be terrifying, but none of those things changed the fact that his Primal Qi was still being consumed, and the longer this battle dragged on... the more his reserves continued to fall, causing Liyu’s expression to become slightly grim as he thought.
