My Cuckhold System

Chapter 325: A City Disguised As A Castle

Everything had become far more complicated.

Yet... another thought steadily pushed its way to the front of his mind...

Castle Extingo.

A ruin unlike ordinary ruins... appearing only once every hundred years and accessible exclusively to first-year awakeners.

A treasure that entire factions had slaughtered each other over for centuries.

He quietly muttered, "...What exactly are you?"

Without wasting another moment, he returned to his office.

---

The lights inside remained on until sunrise.

Computer screens illuminated the room showing digital archives, old expedition records, forum discussions and ancient newspaper articles.

West searched everything he could find but unfortunately... very little information actually existed.

Almost everything regarding Castle Extingo had either been classified or deliberately erased.

What little he managed to gather only deepened the mystery.

Every account described the castle differently.

Some called it an endless kingdom, others described a floating fortress.

One witness claimed the hallways constantly rearranged themselves while another insisted entire cities existed inside.

Some reports spoke of impossible beasts. Others mentioned ancient guardians that had never been defeated.

One recurring detail that appeared again and again said the castle closed exactly one month after opening.

Anyone still inside vanished alongside it, whether they survived or not... no one knew.

West leaned back in his chair. "...Interesting... very interesting."

By the time the first rays of sunlight entered through the windows... he realized he had never gone to bed.

His coffee had gone cold hours earlier but his mind remained active.

The sound of knocking echoed from up ahead.

West looked toward the door. "Come in."

The office door opened and Liz stepped inside carrying a neat stack of folders alongside a tablet.

She smiled warmly. "I told you I’d be back."

Her eyes slowly narrowed as she stopped walking. "...Wait."

"You..." she looked him up and down. "...You’re still wearing yesterday’s clothes."

West scratched the back of his neck. "...Yeah."

She blinked. "Don’t tell me..."

"...you stayed up all night."

He laughed tiredly. "Gang leader duties."

She sighed sympathetically. "I was joking."

"You actually did."

West shrugged. "It happens."

Liz placed the folders onto his desk before looking at him again.

A trace of concern crossed her face. "It must be exhausting."

West leaned back in his chair. "You have absolutely no idea."

She walked closer and for a brief moment, she simply studied his face.

Then she reached up naturally, brushing a stray lock of hair away from his forehead before lightly touching his cheek.

"You’ve got tired eyes," her thumb gently brushed beneath one of them. "You should rest."

West smiled. "I have endless energy. I’ll survive."

She smiled back. "I won’t keep you long then."

"I know you probably want to collapse into bed after this."

West chuckled. "Only bed I’d agree to collapse into, is one with you on it."

Her cheeks slightly flushed. "You..."

West quickly brushed past that statement, continuing on normally. "This is nothing... I’ve literally handled worse."

She coughed twice, regaining her composure. "I somehow believe that."

Opening the first folder, she spread several documents across the desk.

"Everything we discussed yesterday has been prepared."

She pointed toward different sections.

"The commercial warehouse acquisition."

"The residential investment package."

"The industrial land purchase."

"The office complex."

"The legal documentation."

"The tax projections."

"I’ve also negotiated slightly better pricing than yesterday."

West looked up. "Already?"

She nodded proudly. "I made a few early morning calls."

"I told you..."

"...I could get you better deals."

West couldn’t help smiling. "You really don’t waste time."

"I can’t afford to."

She slid another document toward him. "If we move quickly..."

"Most of these properties can be secured before competing investors notice."

West picked up the pen and without hesitation, he began signing one document after another.

Liz watched him with a small smile. "You trust me quite a lot."

West continued signing. "I trust competence."

"And you’ve earned mine."

She looked genuinely pleased. "I won’t disappoint you."

"I know."

The final signature dried across the last page.

West closed the folder. "There."

"Business concluded."

Liz gathered the paperwork neatly.

"I’ll have everything processed immediately."

She paused before smiling. "And then..."

"You are going to sleep."

West laughed. "I’ll think about it."

"No," she folded her arms. "You’ll do it... even if I have to force you to bed myself."

West smirked. "Now wouldn’t that be delightful..."

She grabbed his left ear and pulled it. "Don’t be stubborn."

Over the next several days, one particular name occupied almost every free moment West had.

Castle Extingo.

Ever since Freya’s unexpected visit, the mysterious once-in-a-century phenomenon had refused to leave his thoughts.

Whenever he wasn’t attending to Shadow Reapers business, sparring, handling paperwork or checking on the gang’s rapid expansion, he was seated in his office with a mountain of files spread across his desk.

Aria had noticed his sudden obsession almost immediately.

Without asking too many questions, she simply delivered everything Shadow Reapers had managed to gather regarding Castle Extingo over the years, including personal testimonies from century old first-year awakeners who had somehow survived previous expeditions.

Unfortunately... much of the information contradicted itself.

Even so, a general picture slowly began forming.

West leaned back in his chair while flipping through another thick folder.

"So that’s how it is..."

He finally understood why he had never heard of Castle Extingo before.

It wasn’t because it was secret... itwas because it only mattered to awakeners.

Before becoming awakened himself, he had been an ordinary high school student. Discussions about first-year awakened opportunities never reached ordinary civilians.

Within awakened circles... Castle Extingo was practically legendary. Everyone knew about it.

It was one of the greatest opportunities a newly awakened person could ever hope to encounter.

West opened another file, spotting a detailed architectural sketch.

"...No way," his eyebrows rose. "So it’s literally a castle."

The illustration depicted an impossibly gigantic fortress stretching far beyond what should have been physically possible.

Its walls resembled mountains while its towers disappeared into the clouds.

Countless bridges connected enormous sections together.

According to the estimated scale... the castle wasn’t simply large, it was approximately the size of an entire city.

West whistled. "A city disguised as a castle..."
