My DragonicVampiric System

The safe zone doors sealed behind the students with a heavy metallic sound.

Hundreds of people filled Astra Academy’s central shelter, but Drako barely noticed them. His attention remained focused beneath his feet. Blood Sense detected the heartbeats around him, while Dragon Sense searched deeper underground.

Most of what he felt was familiar—students, instructors, guards, small creatures outside—but beneath all of it was another presence. Slow. Ancient. Moving upward.

Drako’s System remained open in front of him. [Unknown entity ascending through Ancient Bloodline Ruins.] [Current distance: 391 meters.] Drako frowned.

“It’s getting closer.” Mira immediately understood.

“The thing underground?” “Yeah.” Kaien leaned against the wall. “How strong?”

“I don’t know.” Kaien smiled.

“Finally. Something you don’t know.” Drako looked at him. “I don’t know why we keep inviting you places either.” Ruben Veyrox laughed.

“Because he brings fire.”

“And personality,” Kaien added. Teck looked up from his wrist device. “One of those statements is accurate.” Adrian covered his mouth, trying not to laugh. Kaien stared at Teck. “You’re getting way too comfortable.” Teck went back to scanning. “Also accurate.”

Fade stood quietly near the wall, his sword resting against his shoulder. Even without sight, his head kept turning slightly toward the eastern side of the academy.

Drako noticed. “You can still sense it?” Fade nodded. “Barely. Whatever it is, its energy isn’t spreading normally.”

Ruben crossed his arms. “Meaning?” “It feels compressed. Hidden.” Drako didn’t like that. Something capable of controlling its energy signature was different from a wild beast.

The System suddenly updated. [Distance: 364 meters.] “It’s moving faster.” The group stopped joking.

Teck projected a three-dimensional map of the ruins. The newly discovered staircase descended far beneath the academy, but most of the structure remained unreadable.

A pulsing red marker was slowly rising through one section. “The academy sensors finally found it,” Teck said. Adrian leaned closer.

“That signal is weak.” “Artificially weak.” Teck expanded the reading. “There’s too much distortion around it. Something is masking its output.”

Kaien looked at Drako.

“You heard him. Definitely friendly.” Drako nodded.

“Probably coming up to ask for directions.” Mira sighed. “Can both of you be serious for five minutes?”

Drako looked at Kaien. “Can you?” “Absolutely not.” Mira shook her head, but a smile almost appeared.

The shelter doors opened. The headmaster entered with several senior instructors. Everyone became quiet.

“We have identified movement inside the lower ruins,” he announced.

“There is no confirmed breach of the academy. Senior combat teams have been positioned at every access point.

Students will remain here until the situation is resolved.” One student raised his hand. “Is it a beast?”

The headmaster paused. “Unknown.” That answer created more fear than any classification would have.

Drako watched the instructors. Their armor was prepared, but nobody was wearing legendary Demon-Tier equipment.

Whatever was underground, the academy didn’t yet believe it required that level of response.

That reassured him slightly. The Great Families treated Demon-Tier weapons and armor as treasures for a reason.

Drako didn’t want to see something requiring those weapons anywhere near Astra Academy this early in his growth.

The headmaster turned toward Drako’s group. “You seven. With me.”

Drako stood. “Seven?” Adrian counted quietly. “Drako, Mira, Ruben, Teck, Kaien, Fade, me. Yeah, seven.”

Drako looked at him.

“Thanks, mathematician.” Teck glanced over. “His calculation was correct.” “Please don’t encourage him.”

They followed the headmaster into a private command room. A live map of the underground ruins covered one wall.

The red marker had reached 290 meters.

The headmaster looked directly at Drako. “You experienced another vision.” It wasn’t a question.

Drako nodded. “A battlefield. Humans, Dragons, Vampires, and the Azunakkii.” Several instructors exchanged looks.

Ruben noticed. “You know the name.” Silence followed. The headmaster finally said, “We know fragments.” Adrian stepped forward. “Then why were the records deleted?” One instructor immediately frowned.

“Where did you hear that?” Adrian became very interested in the floor. Drako stepped in. “From me.” Adrian looked at him.

Drako shrugged. He wasn’t going to let his friend take all the attention. The headmaster sighed.

“Whatever you think you’ve discovered, stop digging into it without supervision.”

Kaien crossed his arms. “Everybody keeps saying that instead of explaining anything.

That usually means the secret is worse than the question.” Drako nodded. “Flaming chicken makes a point.” Kaien slowly turned.

“I’m going to kill you before the Azunakkii get the chance.”

Before the headmaster could respond, alarms sounded. The red marker disappeared.

Teck immediately moved closer to the map. “Where did it go?” An instructor checked the sensors. “We lost it.” Fade suddenly drew his sword. Everyone looked at him. “No,” he said quietly. “You didn’t.”

Drako activated Blood Sense. Nothing unusual. Dragon Sense. Faint ancient energy surrounded them, but it came from the ruins beneath the entire academy.

Then Drako combined them. His eyes changed—one gold, one crimson. Dragon Blood Vision activated.

Energy patterns became visible everywhere. Students above. Guards outside. Power channels beneath the walls. Then Drako saw something directly below the command room.

A tiny pulse.

Drako’s expression changed. “Move!”

The floor exploded.

Stone and metal blasted upward. The headmaster created an energy barrier instantly. Drako grabbed Adrian and used Blood Step, pulling him away from the crater. Kaien’s Phoenix flames erupted.

Ruben activated stone armor across his arms. Teck’s drones formed a shield. Mira disappeared into the nearest shadow. Fade stood completely still, sword pointed toward the smoke.

Something climbed from the hole.

It wasn’t enormous. That surprised Drako. The creature stood slightly taller than an adult human. Its body was thin and covered in cracked gray armor that looked almost grown rather than manufactured. Four arms extended from its torso. Violet markings pulsed across its neck and chest.

Drako froze.

It looked like the beings from his vision.

The System appeared.

[Unknown humanoid detected.]

[Ancient energy signature confirmed.]

[Possible Azunakkii relation: 82%.]

[Threat Level: Moderate under current academy protection.]

That last line mattered. Moderate. Dangerous, but not some impossible Demon-Tier monster.

The creature slowly lifted its head.

Its four eyes opened.

Everyone prepared to attack.

Then it spoke.

“Dragon.”

Drako’s heartbeat increased.

One of the creature’s eyes shifted crimson.

“Vampire.”

Kaien looked at Drako. “You really attract weird people.”

Drako kept his hands raised. “Jealous?”

“Deeply.”

The headmaster stepped forward. “Identify yourself.”

The creature ignored him and stared at Drako. Its body appeared damaged.

Cracks covered its armor, and one of its arms hung uselessly.

Blood Sense detected something surprising: the creature was dying.

Drako lowered his fist slightly.

Fade noticed. “What?”

“It’s injured.”

The creature took one step forward. Every instructor raised a weapon.

It stopped.

“Not enemy.”

Kaien whispered, “That’s exactly what an enemy says.”

Drako nodded. “To be fair, friends usually say hello first.”

Mira emerged from a shadow beside them. “Can you two stop?”

The creature reached toward Drako.

The headmaster attacked before it could move farther. A wave of energy pinned the creature against the wall. It didn’t resist. Instead, it opened one of its hands.

Something fell onto the floor.

A small black crystal.

Teck scanned it immediately. “Unknown storage device.”

The creature spoke again, struggling with every word. “War…coming.”

The room became silent.

Drako stared at it.

“Azunakkii?”

The creature’s eyes changed.

“Azunakkii…search.”

“For what?” Drako asked.

The creature pointed toward the crystal.

Then it said three words.

“Eternal Demon Beast.”

Everyone froze.

Drako had never heard the name spoken aloud before, but his System reacted violently.

[Major Historical Reference Detected.]

[Eternal Demon-Tier Beast.]

[Information Restricted.]

[Host Level Insufficient.]

Drako frowned. Of course.

The creature suddenly coughed black blood onto the floor. Its heartbeat weakened.

“Why are they looking for it?” Drako asked.

The creature struggled to remain standing against the headmaster’s energy.

“Power.”

“That narrows it down,” Drako muttered.

The creature’s four eyes focused on him.

“They return…because beast lives.”

The headmaster’s face became pale.

Drako noticed immediately. “You knew about this.”

The headmaster didn’t answer.

The creature continued. “Old war…never finished.”

Then its heartbeat stopped.

Its body cracked like stone.

Violet light escaped from the fractures before the entire creature collapsed into ash.

Nobody moved.

Teck’s scanner beeped. “No life signs.”

Kaien lowered his flames. “Well. That ruined my morning.”

Ruben stared at the black crystal. “It climbed hundreds of meters while dying just to bring that message.”

Fade sheathed his sword. “Which means someone wanted the message stopped.”

Drako looked toward the hole in the floor.

That thought was worse.

The System appeared.

[Historical Quest Updated.]

[The Eternal Demon-Tier Beast.]

[Azunakkii activity confirmed.]

[IMPORTANT: Host is not yet prepared for this conflict.]

[Continue growth.]

Drako almost laughed. “For once, we agree.”

The headmaster looked at everyone. “What happened in this room does not leave this room.”

Kaien raised an eyebrow. “We’re going with the secret-government approach?”

Drako nodded. “Classic.”

The headmaster gave them a look that ended the jokes.

Then Teck’s device sounded again.

Everyone turned.

A second signal appeared beneath the academy.

Then a third.

Then six.

Teck slowly looked up.

“The first one wasn’t alone.”

Drako’s scales began appearing across his arms.

Kaien’s flames ignited.

Ruben smiled and activated two copied abilities.

Mira’s shadow spread.

Fade placed his hand on his sword.

Adrian raised his devices despite looking nervous.

Drako looked at his friends.

“Okay. Nobody dies.”

Kaien smiled. “Great plan.”

Drako grinned.

“I’ve been working on it.”

Beneath Astra Academy, six ancient signatures began climbing toward the surface.
