My Farming Domain Is Broken

Chapter 24. 2nd Conquest! (3)- Hobgoblin Captain

He could not repeat the same rooftop charge while four bows were watching him.

Carlos took a throwing knife from his belt.

He waited until one of the rooftop archers leaned over the edge. Then he threw it as hard as he could.

The knife turned in the air and missed the goblin’s head.

But it entered the creature’s shoulder.

The Goblin Hunter screamed and dropped its bow.

"Good enough."

Carlos ran out of cover.

Arrows struck the dirt around him.

He reached the barricade and kicked the wheel.

It rolled into the four spear users, making two move away, one fall, and the last jump over it before thrusting toward Carlos.

Carlos felt fortunate that their spears were shorter than his.

He struck first.

The iron head entered the goblin’s stomach before its weapon could reach him.

Carlos pushed forward and drove the body into the Hunter behind it.

One came out of cover.

"Shoot!"

A Water Shot struck the fallen goblin and stopped it from standing.

Carlos finished it with his spear.

[Goblin Hunter eliminated]

The remaining spear users attacked from both sides.

Carlos swept his weapon low.

One goblin jumped over it.

The other was struck across the knees and fell.

The first thrust its spear toward Carlos’s face, but he instinctively tilted his head aside.

The stone tip cut his cheek.

Carlos stepped inside the goblin’s reach and drove his knee into its chest.

The creature folded immediately.

He slammed the metal-reinforced shaft against its neck.

[Goblin Hunter eliminated]

An arrow struck Carlos’s shoulder.

The arrowhead entered beneath the edge of his leather vest, making him wince in pain, but he did not let it overwhelm him.

Carlos broke the shaft without pulling out the arrowhead.

The pain weakened his left arm, but he kept both hands on the spear.

The last spear user stood.

Carlos charged without waiting.

He needed to end this no matter what.

Their weapons struck each other three times.

The goblin was skilled.

It redirected Carlos’s first thrust and moved away from the second.

But it was lighter than him.

Carlos stopped trying to get past its spear.

He struck the weapon itself with all his strength.

The goblin’s arms were thrown aside.

Carlos’s next thrust entered its chest.

[Goblin Hunter eliminated]

Six remained.

Four archers and two blade users who had not entered the fight yet.

Carlos looked around, trying to come up with a plan to finish the wave.

The two blade users were nowhere to be seen.

"Where are the other two?"

One suddenly turned toward the hut behind them.

Its body stretched forward, and a Water Shot flew toward the wall.

The rotten wood exploded outward after the impact.

Both blade users came through the broken wall.

One curved sword moved toward Carlos.

The other moved toward the slime.

Carlos stepped between them.

One blade struck his vest.

The second cut across his thigh.

HP: 241/360

Carlos ignored the pain and thrust his spear toward the blade user attacking One.

The goblin twisted away, but the iron head entered its side.

One fired into the wound.

The Water Shot threw the creature against the broken wall.

Carlos turned his spear and blocked the second curved blade.

The Goblin Hunter attacked again and again, forcing Carlos to give ground.

Through it all, the Hunter smiled as if it believed Carlos was losing.

Carlos waited until it raised the blade over its head.

Then he kicked the goblin’s knee backward.

The leg bent in the wrong direction.

Even Carlos briefly narrowed his eyes at how painful it must have been.

He struck the goblin’s throat with the spear shaft, and the Hunter fell.

Carlos finished both enemies before the archers could find another angle.

Four remained.

Carlos took a Minor Recovery Potion from his inventory and drank it while moving behind the broken wall.

The arrowhead was still inside his shoulder. The potion reduced the bleeding, but the wound could not fully close around the metal.

He needed to remove it.

The archers did not give him time.

Two entered the road while the injured one retrieved its bow from the roof. The fourth circled around the buildings.

Carlos took the three remaining throwing knives from his belt and pushed the handle of one halfway into One’s body.

"Hold this."

One’s water hardened around it.

Carlos pointed toward the closest archer.

"Shoot."

One used Water Shot.

The knife flew with the water.

It crossed the road in a straight line and entered the archer’s chest.

Carlos stared.

[Goblin Hunter eliminated]

One bounced excitedly.

"Again."

Carlos gave it another knife, both excited and slightly disappointed that he had not thought of it sooner.

The second archer saw what had happened and ran toward cover.

It was too slow.

Water and iron struck its back.

[Goblin Hunter eliminated]

The injured archer on the roof tried to fire with one arm.

Carlos threw the final knife himself in a burst of adrenaline.

It missed.

"I should have given it to you."

He ran across the road, entered the hut, and climbed through the hole in its roof.

Meanwhile, the goblin was desperately trying to pull the bowstring back again.

When it finally succeeded, the goblin released the arrow.

Carlos moved his head aside, but the arrow still cut his ear.

He took a deep breath, relieved that his instincts had kept him alive, and continued forward.

He reached the Hunter and pushed it off the building with the spear shaft.

It struck the ground below.

[Goblin Hunter eliminated]

One enemy remained.

Carlos looked across the village.

Nothing moved.

Even the last archer had disappeared.

One bounced into the road and turned its body from side to side.

Carlos saw movement inside a broken window behind the slime.

"DOWN!"

The bowstring released.

One flattened itself as the arrow passed over its core.

Carlos jumped from the roof.

He landed badly on his injured leg but kept moving.

The archer tried to load another arrow.

Carlos explosively threw his spear.

But the Hunter moved aside.

The spear missed its body and entered the window frame.

The goblin smiled.

Carlos smiled too, confusing it.

"One."

The slime fired the moment the Hunter stepped out.

A Water Shot struck its leg.

The goblin fell directly beside the spear, shocked that the slime was still alive.

Carlos reached it first, pulled the weapon free from the wood, and drove it downward.

[Goblin Hunter eliminated]

[Wave 2 completed]

Carlos sat against the wall.

His health was rising from the potion, but the arrowhead still needed to come out.

One bounced toward him with only a small amount of mana remaining.

Carlos placed a hand against the slime.

"That knife attack was good."

[Blue Water Slime One Favorability increased by 10]

[Blue Water Slime One has learned a cooperative attack]

--

Carlos laughed once.

"We are keeping that."

The Goblin Hunters had not disappeared either.

Carlos forced himself back onto his feet and searched the village before the final wave arrived. His shoulder and thigh protested with every step, but leaving ten better weapons behind would have hurt him more.

He pulled bows from the rooftops, collected the short spears, and took the curved blades from the two Hunters that had broken through the wall.

[Goblin Hunter Bow x4 obtained]

[Goblin Short Spear x4 obtained]

The kit stopped the bleeding and closed the wound enough for the Recovery Potion to work properly.

Carlos gave One a Troop Recovery Potion.

The liquid vanished into the slime’s body and restored its shape.

[Final wave in 10 minutes]

The longer preparation time did not make Carlos feel better.

A heavy horn sounded beyond the village.

[Final Wave Enemy Information]

[Goblin Warriors x8]

[Dire Wolf x1]

One final notification appeared beneath the list.

[The Hobgoblin Captain possesses an Uncommon-grade weapon]

"I need that Uncommon weapon..."
