My Farming Domain Is Broken

Chapter 4: Ch 4. Hell difficulty- A spear manufacturing unit

[Carlos Goldwin]- I was busy handling a troop.

[Cosmic Merchant]- You already summoned a troop? I thought we decided to wait. And you even used your real name, WOW.

--

Carlos chuckled. Their relationship had always been like brothers.

--

[Cosmic Merchant]- So, what domain did you get? Don’t ask me though, I have been very unlucky. Shitty luck.

[Carlos Goldwin]- .... It couldn’t be worse than me, brother. Tell me yours first.

--

Carlos waited, but soon, other class members joined the conversation too.

--

[PookAcrylic]- Hey Carlos, you already summoned a troop? Damn, you are fast! : )

[Cosmic Merchant]- I got a military domain, so that is one thing that didn’t fuck up. But I got Lizardmen as my first barrack, Carlos.

--

When Carlos read that, he couldn’t hold in his chuckle.

--

[Carlos Goldwin]- Hey Pook, tell me your real name. I don’t recognize you. As for Cosmic, Lizardmen is a basic barrack, but they do fight well. Just because you didn’t get an abnormally good barrack, you call yourself unlucky? That’s quite WEAK.

[Cosmic Merchant]- I don’t want to hear that from you, Carlos. Tell me, what domain and barrack did you get?

--

Carlos fell silent and didn’t type for a few seconds.

’No... If I don’t answer right now, they will think I am hesitating. That will be quite bad...’

--

[Carlos Goldwin]- I got the Agriculture Domain and Farmer’s Lodge as my first barrack. I am going to start working now, so I will catch up with everyone after a while.

--

Carlos wrote that and closed the chat. His work for now was done. All he needed to do was get into the chat group, and now came the important part.

A few messages pinged in the chatroom, but Carlos didn’t look at them. If he were to keep talking there, all his valuable time would disappear, and time was a resource of its own in this world.

Suddenly, just as he was about to decide what to do next, a personal message pinged, making him look at the name.

Carlos opened it quickly and smiled.

--

[Cosmic Merchant]- Tough luck. Do you at least have a weapon with you?

[Carlos Goldwin]- Not currently, but I am going to check out the 1st Conquest Level and see what we have to defeat there.

[Cosmic Merchant]- You dumb fuck, are you going to a Conquest Level unarmed? I know you are good at it, but I have already checked the first level. It is slimes. Who in the right mind kills slimes with bare hands?

--

"Slimes?" Carlos said out loud, making the farmer look in his direction before resuming his work again.

--

[Cosmic Merchant]- Lucky for you, I unlocked a building from the chest opening. I got a Spear Manufacturing Workstation that I have already set up. I can make one spear with the materials I have, so I can give it to you.

--

"..." Carlos was at a loss for words.

He already had a Weapon Manufacturing Workstation?

Just how lucky did he get?

’He didn’t say that in the chatroom because this is supposed to be a secret, huh... Well, I can’t blame him. I am not going to tell anyone I got two Plots of Fertile Land right now.’

--

[Carlos Goldwin]- You can only make one spear, so keep it with you. The raid will begin in a day. You need all the help you can get, idiot.

[Cosmic Merchant]- Please, I don’t want to hear that from you. You know what I am trying to become, right? Can you read my name, or have you lost the ability to read too?

--

Carlos’s eyebrow twitched.

Cosmic was getting very cocky now that Carlos wasn’t there to beat him up.

--

[Cosmic Merchant]- By the way you are speaking, I already know your dumbass didn’t get any wood or stone either. So this spear is an investment. Since it’s slimes, Carlos, I know you can do a lot with a spear. Just go and do your best. Get some resources and get me five wood and five stone so that I can make a spear too.

--

"Fuck..." Carlos felt like he was taking advantage of his good friend, but at the same time, he knew Cosmic never did anything that didn’t benefit him.

Carlos closed off his thoughts and messaged back.

--

[Carlos Goldwin]- Your fault for having so much trust in me. Alright, send me the spear and I will give you ten Copper Coins in return.

[Cosmic Merchant]- You crazy bastard, do you know how much ten Copper Coins are worth? You could get two spears for that kind of money.

[Carlos Goldwin]- Do it or no deal.

--

It only took a minute for Cosmic to realize that Carlos wasn’t going to budge.

[Trade Request from Cosmic Merchant]

Carlos quickly accepted the spear and wired ten Copper Coins in return.

He got a few more messages that, in brief, meant:

"You better not die out there."

"Good luck."

Carlos stepped out of the Lord’s Hut and looked at the Conquest tab in the Lord System.

--

[You are using the Conquest Portal for the first time, Carlos Goldwin.]

[Would you like to set up the portal in your territory?]

[Once selected, the portal will remain permanently in your territory.]

--

Carlos accepted, and light illuminated the right corner of the territory.

The farmer stopped working and looked at the portal with interest until he saw his lord walking toward it.

"Are you going to enter it, my lord?" the farmer asked.

"Yes, I will be back in some time," Carlos spoke as a wooden spear with a sharp stone attached to the tip materialized in his hand.

"And till I am back, I want you to come up with a name. I won’t be calling you Farmer. If you don’t, I will come up with something on my own, and you don’t want that," Carlos spoke with a grin.

Looking at that wild grin, the farmer’s eye twitched.

There was no way he was going to let someone who knew he was bad at naming things name him.

The farmer nodded, and Carlos placed a finger on the portal, causing a notification to pop up.
