My Farming Domain Is Broken
Chapter 5: CH 5. BONUS REWARDS: Hell Conqueror’s Chest!Carlos looked at the spear in his hand one more time, and his grip tightened around it. A grin formed on his face as he clicked on the one option that was supposed to be out of the question.
His body disappeared, and the farmer briskly walked toward the portal to look at the information written there until his eyes widened in shock.
"Crazy bastard, respectfully."
When Carlos opened his eyes again, he found himself in a forest with tall trees that had thick, flaky trunks.
The grass wasn’t that tall, and everything looked like a clearing.

"Only 2 waves? Easy," he thought out loud confidently.
Carlos looked back and saw a huge wall that looked like the start of a steep mountain, while a large clearing stretched out in front of him.
"So everything should spawn here..." Carlos thought out loud and started jumping on the spot to help with his nerves.
Waiting for a minute was a very long time when it came to a fight. It had to be spontaneous.

[1st wave has commenced]

Just as the notification appeared, multiple lights formed randomly across the clearing. Carlos went on guard and waited.
When the light dissipated, he could finally see them clearly.
The slimes.
They looked like blobs of water with a blackish bead floating in the middle.
When they had fully formed, Carlos couldn’t even tell if the slimes were looking at him because of how their anatomy seemed to be.
Then one of the nearby slimes’ bodies elongated, and a line formed on it. Carlos looked at it in surprise until what looked like the slime’s makeshift hand moved like a whip.
It made a sound like water splashing, and the next moment, Carlos saw a projectile flying toward him.
His head instinctively jerked to the side, and the water splashed against a nearby tree. A loud popping sound rang out as if it had struck something hard, but nothing happened to the tree’s trunk.
Soon, multiple slimes repeated the same motion, making Carlos’s instincts scream this time.
He stepped back and jumped behind a tree for cover, and at that very moment, multiple projectiles slammed into the trunk.
Unfortunately, one struck his left shoulder directly, making him feel excruciating pain.
"UGH!"
Carlos took full cover and cursed his slow speed this time. He looked at his shoulder and realized that his shirt had a hole in it, while a large red mark had formed where the water projectile had hit.
At that moment, something clicked in Carlos’s mind.
The attack wasn’t lethal.
It just hurt him really badly.
And a smirk crept across his face.
More projectiles flew toward him, and he peeked at the slimes that were currently moving toward him.
’They are slow, and there is a cooldown period to their attacks. What they say is right... if someone gets a barracks that summons slimes, they are fucked.’
For the next ten seconds, he analyzed when the slimes would attack and how some of the closer ones were simply trying to close the distance.
The shots were random because whenever one of them attacked and entered its cooldown, another one attacked instead, making it difficult to predict.
’Fuck it.’
When Carlos felt that the closer slimes were within his range, he suddenly lunged forward and, with all his might, slammed the closest slime’s body with his spear.
It took only a split second for the spear to strike the slime in the middle and make it burst apart. He immediately retreated to his hiding spot as many projectiles fell around him.
Carlos looked at the screen at the corner of his vision and realized that there were still 20 slimes alive in the vicinity.
He peeked again and saw the slime’s body scattered all over the ground while the other slimes were absorbing the jelly lying there.
Some of them stopped shooting, which made Carlos go for another attack.
The nearby slime was struck by the spear too, making it burst apart.
"FUCK!"
A projectile hit him right on the lower arm, making him wince in pain before taking full cover again.
When he looked at it, he saw the same red patch.
’I don’t know how many more of these I can take...’ Carlos thought to himself as the slimes came closer.
Then he realized something.
’These are like rubber bullets... they hurt a lot, but they aren’t lethal... I just took a hit from a short distance, and the projectile didn’t even penetrate my skin.’
Carlos checked one more time to make sure he was right. He had also tightened his muscles that time, which had helped a lot with resisting the pain.
’I have to do it, no matter what.’
He took a deep breath.
Carlos rushed toward the slimes again and saw that the slimes he had hit were still alive, only much smaller this time.
He hurriedly struck the closest slime with his spear as if it were nothing more than a stick, making another slime splash everywhere, even onto his own clothes.
Many projectiles flew toward Carlos and struck his body, but he made sure that none of them could reach his neck or face.
With one hand protecting his face and neck and the other swinging the spear with all his strength, Carlos popped as many slimes as he could.
The pain was unbearable, but he kept going.
It only took twenty seconds for all twenty slimes to be popped once by his spear.
Each slime he struck stopped shooting altogether and simply tried to recover its body.
When all 20 slimes had been hit once, he took a deep breath and looked over his body.
There were holes everywhere in his shirt. The slimes were only targeting the upper body for some reason, which helped save an important part of his body that was also quite sensitive.
Carlos took his time to analyze the situation.
The slimes were simply trying to recover themselves.
And there it was.
The small bead in the middle of their bodies.
Carlos touched the slime covering his clothes and realized that it was nothing more than a sticky, wet liquid, just like jelly.
With nothing else to think about, he crouched down despite the pain all over his body and pushed his hand into one of the nearby slimes.
When Carlos’s hand grabbed the bead that was now closer to the surface, the slime tried to harden its body, but he pulled it out without any resistance.
Without the bead inside anymore, the jelly-like body immediately lost its shape and collapsed onto the ground.
Carlos looked at the bead for a moment and saw how lifeless it was. He checked the notification and realized that the slime hadn’t died yet.
"You all are quite persistent."
Carlos flung the bead to the side and moved on to the next one.
Another minute later, every slime lay lifeless on the ground while twenty black beads had been piled off to the side.
With time, Carlos watched the number of living slimes slowly decrease until finally, there wasn’t a single slime left alive in the vicinity.
