A second later, a smirk broke across the Demon Queen’s face.
Your luck is seriously terrible, human! I mean... you didn’t even get to finish your little ’masturbation’ properly."
Did she just smile?
Well, in a situation like this, an obvious reaction was expected. But then her voice broke his train of thought.
"Whatever. Get out of my way. I need to use this... ’bathroom’."
Himanshu took a deep breath and watched the Demon Queen turn and walk towards the bathroom. Her terrifying shadow actually looked a little less scary right now.
The Demon Queen stepped inside the bathroom. Her deep rad eyes coldly inspected the tiny 6x8 feet tiled room. There was a blue plastic bucket, a mug, and a steel showerhead fixed on the wall. Her eyebrows twitched, and that same royal disgust washed over her face again.
"Is your empire so poor that you bathe in a rat’s washing hole?" The Queen’s voice dripped with heavy dissatisfaction. "Where is the hot water pool? Where are the fragrant herbs?"
"W-we don’t have all that here," Himanshu stammered from the outside. He didn’t even dare to step a toe past the doorway. "T-that steel handle on the wall... turn it to the left side. Hot water will come out on its own. And that white square thing is soap, you can use it to clean the dirt."
The Queen stared at that weird ’steel handle’. Then she slowly turned and glared at Himanshu. That cold, deadly glint was back in her eyes.
"If even a single drop of cold water comes out of this weird machine, I will spill your blood instead of that water," she said in a dead calm, but terrifying voice. "And now remove your eyes from here and shut the door, before I pluck them out."
BAM!
Himanshu didn’t waste a millisecond and slammed the door shut from the outside.
He took a deep breath, pulling at his hair as he thought, ’I literally invited death into my own house.’
But then, the thought of hiding the demon took over his mind. His brain started running at full speed. He started wondering how the hell he was going to hide this walking, breathing disaster with horns from the world and his mom.
If she didn’t have these horns on her head, maybe I could’ve introduced her to people as my friend... or my girlfriend, Himanshu thought. But these horns ruin everything! Whoever looks at her will instantly know she’s not human.
A while later, the Demon Queen walked out of the bathroom looking fresh. She had wrapped herself in the large towel.
"The water of this weird bathing-room was satisfactory, human," the Queen’s heavy, royal voice echoed.
Meanwhile, Himanshu was busy packing his school bag.
The Demon Queen stared at him in confusion. "What are you doing? Where are you going?"
"Can’t you see? I’m going to school," Himanshu said, stuffing his books into his bag.
"What?" The Demon Queen furrowed her brows. "Are you not taking this situation seriously? There is a demon standing in your room, and you care about going to ’school’?"
Himanshu turned around and slung his bag over his shoulder. Even without any magical aura, she didn’t look like a normal human at all. Her face alone was enough to make any guy lose his mind.
But Himanshu controlled his thoughts, took a deep breath, and said, "Look, Your Majesty, I have to pass my exams this time at any cost. And who knows... maybe you’ll naturally return to your world in an hour or a few days."
Himanshu pointed towards the table. "I have placed all the necessary things for you in the room. And yeah, I’ve written on a piece of paper how to use things like the fan and lights. There’s food on the table, eat it right now, because it tastes really bad once it gets cold."
Himanshu walked towards the door. "And yeah, the most important thing—please stay inside this room! If anyone outside finds out you are here, it’ll create a massive problem."
Right before leaving, Himanshu pointed at the bed. "I also took out some of my mom’s old clothes and put them on the bed. If they don’t stink to you, please wear them. And... if you don’t like those clothes, just do whatever you feel is right." Himanshu gave a weak, nervous smile.
Hearing this, the Demon Queen boiled with anger.
As soon as Himanshu said all this and turned towards the door, the Demon Queen grabbed a half-full Pepsi can from the nearby table and brutally crushed it with her strength. Crunch! As the can crushed, cold Pepsi splashed everywhere.
Himanshu pulled the room door open.
But as soon as the door opened... Himanshu’s eyes went wide with pure terror. His breath got stuck in his throat.
Right in front of him, just on the other side of the door... stood his mom! Her hand was half-raised in the air, just about to knock.
And at that exact moment, while Himanshu was looking straight into his mom’s eyes...
The Demon Queen’s loud, angry voice came from right behind him. "I told you this before! I absolutely hate taking orders, you filthy human!"
And along with that voice... Smack!
The Demon Queen threw the crushed, half-full Pepsi can with full force, hitting Himanshu right on the back of his head. The moment the can hit, cold Pepsi started dripping down his hair and forehead.
Himanshu stumbled forward from the pain. And right then... his mom’s gaze went over Himanshu’s shoulder, looking straight inside the room.
It felt as if time had just stopped right there.
