My Kingdom Building Done Right!

Chapter 287: The Beginning Of The End [Part 2]

Several minutes before Troy fought against the Bronze Dragon...

Leone stood on the ramparts of his fortress, gazing off into the distance. Soon enough, the battle between the monster army and the Darkmane Tribe would begin.

It was then that Daedalus talked to him through telepathy.

"Leone, one of the cloaked men riding on a Wyvern is approaching Troy," Daedalus reported. "I think he wants to say something to Troy. Whatever it is, it might give us a clue about the real mastermind behind this war. Do you want me to project it so everyone can see it? Or shall I only share it with you?"

"Share it with everyone," Leone replied without hesitation. "That way, if the Bonegnash Tribe really is behind this incident, we can ask the other high-ranking tribes to help deal with them."

The young man would never forgive those who had plotted to harm and kill his people. So far, over a hundred warriors from the Aslan Tribe had died during the monster attack. Their tribe didn’t have a lot of warriors to begin with, so every warrior was precious to him.

So, if someone truly was behind this incident, he would definitely make them pay without fail.

After receiving Leone’s permission, Daedalus displayed the battle taking place in the fortress to everyone.

Naturally, the sudden broadcast had startled everyone, clueless about what kind of magic had allowed it to manifest in the first place.

Even so, after seeing the state of the battle in the fortress, those who were operating the Fireshard Catapults intensified their barrage to help the Darkmane Tribe annihilate their enemies.

When the Manticore appeared to save Troy from the Basilisk, Jafar clenched his fists subconsciously. Finally, their Guardian had come.

However, when the Bronze Dragon unleashed a breath attack against the Manticore, everyone watching felt as if the heat of the flames washed over their bodies as well.

It was then that the warrior of the Bonegnash Tribe, Rhogar, appeared and taunted Troy.

As one of the high-ranking officials of the Bonegnash Tribe, he was immediately recognized by the chieftains and the elders of the middle and high-ranking tribes.

They listened to their conversation, only to feel their blood boil after hearing the main reason why the Bonegnash Tribe and the Bronze Dragon collaborated with each other.

—————

"Although it’s a shame Godwin isn’t here, I’m glad all the chieftains are gathered in one place," Rhogar said. "Once all of you are eliminated, the Bonegnash Tribe will rule the Borderlands!"

"And in exchange, you will give Eden to the Bronze Dragon, right?" Troy asked back.

"You’re right." Rhogar didn’t even bother to lie about this fact. "It’s a win-win situation for us."

—————

Godwin, who was currently wearing a disguise, narrowed his eyes at those words.

At the same time, Hagen looked coldly at the man who was part of Bonegnash Tribe’s inner circle. He had to admit that if he were in the same position, he might have done the same.

When Troy made his move to cut off the bastard’s head, everyone in the fortress cheered.

"Good riddance!" Malik sneered.

They then watched as Troy fought tooth and nail against the Bronze Dragon. Witnessing this battle made even those who hated the Chieftain of the Darkmane Tribe acknowledge Troy. Although they didn’t see eye to eye with Troy, his bravery was something worth praising, albeit reluctantly.

When Troy had been surrounded by all the flying monsters, Jafar could no longer hold back and called out to his Wyvern.

He had promised Troy before that he would serve Leone to ensure that Cain, Byron, and Travis would be able to live a life of comfort.

But seeing his friend face inevitable death, Jafar could no longer hold himself back and took off to the skies.

Although no one had expected him to react that way, they could still understand it somewhat.

However, what happened next truly took everyone by surprise.

"Ariooooooooooooon!" Leone shouted before jumping off the ramparts of his fortress.

A moment later, the Pegasus caught him. They then went to chase Jafar, who had decided to save Troy no matter what.

"Damn it!" Logan cursed loudly after seeing Leone leave the safety of the fortress. "Rasta! Go! All of you who can fly, go now!"

Rasta, as well as the shamans who chose the Dread Condors as their mounts, took off to the sky.

"Boris, let’s go!" On the other hand, Brann unleashed his power, fusing together with the Raptor Sovereign.

Soon, a pair of flaming black wings appeared on his back as he, too, chased after Leone to protect him.

Then, Astravor, Maximus, and Blitz followed suit. They would not allow Leone to get hurt no matter what.

It was then that something else happened.

Godwin had finally shed his disguise in front of everyone by unfurling a pair of Roc Wings on his back.

He had intended to keep his secret until the very end. But after seeing Leone had also gone to help Troy, he could no longer keep being a spectator.

Hagen and Malik looked at Godwin in disbelief as he flew away in haste.

"To think he was right under our noses this entire time," Hagen muttered.

"He truly is an unpredictable person," Malik commented.

They then shifted their attention back to the projection that showed the ongoing battle.

—————

"I am Troy, Son of Morkan, and Chieftain of the Darkmane Tribe!" Troy declared. "And I’ll be damned if I don’t bring you down with me!"

—————

When the Chieftain of the Darkmane Tribe stabbed the Bronze Dragon’s eye, a collective cheer rang out within the fortress.

Even Hagen and Malik felt a strong urge to join the battle then and there, spurred by Troy’s bravery.

Then, they watched as Troy fell from the sky—beaten, battered, and burned, barely recognizable due to the burns covering his body.

In fact, had they not watched what had just happened, they would fail to identify the warrior, for his entire body was now burned beyond recognition.

Some of them even thought that Troy had reached the limit of his luck, for he had miraculously survived that long.

Even so, no one wished to see him die.

So, when Jafar’s Wyvern caught him, everyone hoped that he could live on despite his fatal injuries.

They watched as Leone tried to heal him. However, it seemed that Jafar’s injuries were so severe that even healing spells had little to no effect on his body.

Then, the projection was suddenly cut off.

Daedalus had purposely turned off the broadcast when it moved to store Troy inside its pages.

With the projection cut off, everyone was forced to rely on their own sight to see what was happening.

Eventually, Daedalus reached out to Kael and told him the strategy it devised, which the shaman carried out without fail.

"Fireshard Catapults, hold your fire!" Kael ordered. "Load and wait for my signal!"

Although he didn’t say anything else, it seemed that those who were watching the projection immediately understood what they needed to do.

All the Fireshard Catapults were now properly loaded with their ammunition, and all of them were only waiting for Kael to give the signal.

When Daedalus reached out to Kael one more time, the shaman finally gave the signal.

"Fire!" Kael’s voice thundered.

All the Fireshard Catapults then unleashed a volley of fireballs, targeting the massive dragon that was chasing after their allies.

Before their bombardment even hit their target, the operators of the Fireshard Catapults were already loading ammunition onto the catapults for a second volley.

"Fire!" Kael said as soon as the red flag was raised, signaling that all the Fireshard Catapults were ready to fire.

Soon, a second rain of fireballs rose toward the sky, providing support fire to their allies.

Although not all of them hit the Bronze Dragon, dozens still slammed into its body, drawing blood.

To everyone’s surprise, a black aura suddenly wrapped around the Bronze Dragon’s body. Even from afar, it looked more sinister than usual.

In response, the chieftains of the middle-ranked and high-ranked tribes immediately gave orders to their warriors to prepare for battle.

"""Kill!"""

And thus, the collective desire to kill the Bronze Dragon emerged from their hearts and lips, unleashing a deadly barrage of bolts, arrows, heavy stones, and fire shards toward the Monster King, who was now only a few hundred meters away from the fortress of the Aslan Tribe.
