My Kingdom Building Done Right!

Chapter 295: The End Of The War Of Lions [Part 1]

"Ugh..." Leone groaned as he found himself lying on the ground.

When the collision between the three powerful attacks created a shockwave, he was forcefully shoved to the ground by the three women guarding him.

Now that he had regained his senses, he slowly propped himself up to see the aftermath of the battle. The walls that served as their first line of defense had taken the brunt of the shockwave, and was now littered with cracks.

But, it still held, preventing the loss of more lives that relied on its defenses.

As he gazed at his surroundings, he found Boris and Brann lying on the ground. The two of them had been separated from their fusion, and were both unconscious.

Meanwhile, Astravor stood by their side, making sure no further harm would befall his two unconscious allies.

As for the Monster King, it was also sprawled on the ground. Its body was covered in wounds, blood continuously dripping and dyeing the ground red.

Even so, it was very much alive... well, barely alive.

It had made multiple attempts to stand up, but it could no longer gather strength in its body. The only thing it could move was its head. But even that had reached its limit.

The Monster King, who lorded over the monster army, was now dying.

But the Monster King’s death alone wouldn’t be enough to give everyone a sense of security.

Suddenly, a giant bloody foot stomped on the Bronze Dragon’s head, pinning it to the ground.

Kael’s Blood Golem raised its foot before stomping on the fallen monster’s head over and over again.

The Bronze Dragon was too weak to even utter a roar, eventually breathing its last after getting stomped to death.

When the Blood Golem confirmed that its foe had already perished, Kael raised his hand and cried out in triumph.

"We won!" Kael shouted. "Long live the Aslan Tribe!"

One by one, the warriors of the Aslan Tribe rose to their feet and looked toward the fallen dragon in the distance.

Soon, a victorious cheer spread across the battlefield as everyone began to celebrate their hard-earned victory.

Amidst the roars of victory, Leone received a notification, as if to prove that this battle had truly ended. The message congratulated him on the success of his mission.

However, the young man wasn’t in the mood to read his rewards right now. Instead, he focused on giving orders to his warriors to gather the bodies of their brave warriors who had perished in battle.

The calamity had finally passed, with the allied tribes having succeeded in defeating the Bronze Dragon.

Yet, there was a cost. Lives were lost. Although those who survived were happy with their victory, they were also sad. After all, the people who fought alongside them had now returned to the embrace of the Earth Mother.

Everyone who had witnessed the battle knew that the ones who played the biggest role in this battle were none other than Troy and the Aslan Tribe.

They were two enemies who shared different goals. Yet, they still fought side by side in a battle that would affect the peace of the Borderlands.

Soon, Godwin landed beside his daughter, Tianna, who had wrapped her wings around herself and Jason.

Ragnar was also there, standing guard over his sister. He gave his father a brief nod to assure him that Tianna was fine.

The Chieftain of the Warclaw Tribe was too busy fighting against the Bronze Dragon to notice how she had ended up at the base of the mountain.

"I didn’t know you were also here, Father," Ragnar said with a wry smile. "Why didn’t you tell us you were going with Tianna in disguise?"

"What good would it do if I told you I was going?" Godwin arched an eyebrow. "I wanted to observe you and your brother and see how you would deal with the Aslan Tribe on your own. If you knew I was present, you would definitely not show your true colors. Am I wrong?"

Ragnar felt a bit embarrassed after hearing his father’s words. To be honest, a part of him felt anxious, wondering if he had said something to Leone that his father might think was immature or inappropriate.

But so far, Godwin hadn’t said anything. He simply stared at the barrier his daughter had created to prevent anyone from harming her.

Of course, if Godwin knew that his daughter was currently... ahem, not alone inside that barrier, then he might have done things differently.

Elias, who had also arrived at the base of the mountain, greeted his father immediately.

Godwin glanced at his scholarly son and asked him a question.

"Elias, what do you think of the Aslan Tribe?"

"They are... amazing, Father," Elias replied honestly. "Leone and his warriors have shown us that they can no longer be treated as an ordinary tribe. If anything, they have stepped into the ranks of the high-ranking tribes."

"And how do you suggest we deal with them from now on?" Godwin inquired.

"We must make them our ally," Elias answered without hesitation. "Right now, they are at odds with the Grimhowl Tribe. If we use this opportunity to extend our hand to them and treat them with sincerity, I’m sure Leone would accept it."

"Father, how about we arrange for Tianna to become his primary wife?" Ragnar proposed. "This will tie the two tribes together and form a stronger bond."

"That’s not a bad idea." Elias nodded in agreement. "Vlad seems to idolize Leone as well. I’m sure he will be supportive of this arrangement."

Godwin smiled faintly in return. He neither agreed nor disagreed with his sons’ opinion.

However, he had a feeling that making Leone his son-in-law wouldn’t be easy.

He didn’t know why he felt this way. It was as if his instincts were telling him that it wasn’t meant to be.

Then again, the Chieftain of the Warclaw Tribe wasn’t aware that someone had already captured his daughter’s heart.

Godwin glanced at his surroundings. All around them, warriors were cheering, while others were being hugged by their loved ones.

Some were also crying over the deaths of their friends, family, and acquaintances.

Even so, this battle would be recorded in the pages of history. Those who had survived the battle would surely spread this story far and wide so everyone else could hear the tale of the War of the Lions.

While everyone was busy gathering the dead among the rubble, Daedalus was busy collecting all the corpses of the monsters on the battlefield.

Of course, it prioritized collecting the most valuable of them all—the Bronze Dragon, which was none other than the Monster King.

It had also absorbed the Blood Golem. There was no way in hell it would waste such precious bloodlines, which could all be used for alchemy and Beast Synthesis.

There were still other boons in this battle. For example, the monsters that had survived falling into the pitfalls that had been activated throughout the battlefield.

In Daedalus’ eyes, these monsters would be forcefully tamed and brought under the control of the Aslan Tribe.

Of the four Rank 6 Monsters that served the Monster King, only the Tyrant Pteranodon survived.

Otto had managed to injure it enough to prevent it from flying away.

Then, Logan and Khan personally tied it up before dragging it back to the fortress.

Leone had trapped it inside a stone prison, making sure it wouldn’t be able to escape no matter what.

If they could tame this monster, Leone would be able to unlock the Pteranodon Mount, which would grant the Aslan Tribe access to flying mounts.

Fortunately, taming monsters was easy.

All they needed to do was beat it up to a pulp until it agreed to form a binding contract with the Aslan Tribe.

While everyone was busy tallying the casualties of the battle, a loud screech from the sky caught their attention.

"It’s the great shaman," one of the warriors from the Grimhowl Tribe said excitedly.

Gundar had finally returned to Grimjaw Mountain. On his way, he even hoped that he would be there in time to help fight against the Monster King and his army.

Unfortunately, he had arrived a few hours after the battle had already ended.

Still, seeing the destruction of the land from the sky made him understand how intense the fight was.

’Did the Monster King retreat?’ Gundar thought as he commanded his giant hawk to descend to the fortress. ’I hope Leone is alright.’

The shaman suddenly realized that he was worrying more about Leone’s safety than the safety of his own chieftain, Hagen.

However, Gundar simply brushed it off. Hagen was already an adult and could protect himself if need be.

When he landed on the mountain, Leone was gone. The young man had retreated inside the underground tunnels after claiming that he needed to deal with something very important.

Because of this, Gundar went to find Hagen and ask him about the details of the battle that had just ended.

When he learned that the Monster King hadn’t been chased away, but had instead died in battle, the great shaman’s eyes widened in shock.

"Then, where is the body?" Gundar asked. "Come to think of it, I didn’t see any monster corpses on my way here."

"I don’t know where the bodies went," Hagen replied. "But I do have a hunch about who took them."

There were no other tribes who were capable of doing such a feat. So, only one answer remained.

The monster bodies were all taken away by the Aslan Tribe.

And right now, somewhere inside the mountain, Leone and Jafar were having an important discussion that would affect the fate of the Darkmane Tribe.
