My Kingdom Building Done Right!

Chapter 296: The End Of The War Of Lions [Part 2]

Inside Leone’s house...

Jafar looked at the chieftain of the Aslan Tribe with a solemn look on his face.

"If you can save him, I promise to serve you faithfully until the day I die," Jafar vowed. "I swear this to the Earth Mother."

Ulric, Yuni, Kael, and Maximus stood behind Leone as his bodyguards. Although the Darkmane Tribe and the Aslan Tribe had fought side by side against the monster army, there was simply no way they would allow Leone to have a one-on-one talk with Jafar.

Sure, Hassan was guarding the young man from his shadow. Still, they simply couldn’t feel at ease. They must be present to ensure that no one could threaten their Great Chieftain.

"Even if I save him, he might no longer be the same man again," Leone replied calmly. "In fact, he might turn into a monster after this. Are you sure you’ll still serve me even if that happens?"

"Yes," Jafar answered without hesitation. "As long as he is saved and his personality remains the same, I don’t care what form of monster he becomes."

Truth be told, even if Jafar hadn’t made a vow of loyalty toward him, he had already planned to save Troy.

Though he wasn’t doing this for any noble cause.

He was only doing it because ‌he believed it was right.

Sure, people might call him naive. Ignorant even. Unfortunately for them, he didn’t give a damn.

Leone just felt it.

His gut instinct was telling him that letting Troy live would be more beneficial to him than letting the chieftain die.

Aside from that, there was also the issue with the Bonegnash Tribe.

Only the Darkmane Tribe could deal with them right now. Thanks to the war, Leone and the Aslan Tribe were unable to leave Grimjaw Mountain.

Of course, as long as they were inside their domain, no army could defeat them easily.

However, if they were outside of it, they would lose all their advantages. Plus, they would no longer be able to overwhelm their enemies through the use of Leone’s kingdom-building powers.

"I understand." Leone nodded. "I will do my best to help."

There was one method to save Troy, and that was none other than using Beast Synthesis.

He had already used this in the past with Jason and the squirrels, so the chance of Troy achieving a complete recovery was high.

Unfortunately, Daedalus told him that the injury the chieftain received was simply too much for a simple recovery. Instead, they had to build his body from scratch.

What did this mean?

It meant that even if Troy recovered, he would no longer be human.

After their talk ended, Leone asked everyone to leave the room. He also ordered Ulric and Kael to gather the bodies of the warriors of the Aslan Tribe and prepare them for burial.

He was already aware that Gundar had arrived at Grimjaw Mountain, so he would ask the great shaman later to perform the ritual that would send the spirits of the dead to the Earth Mother.

For now, he needed to deal with the most pressing issue, which was to save Troy. After all, the man couldn’t stay inside Daedalus’ pages for a long time.

If anything, the grimoire could only store a living person inside its pages for three hours. Any longer than that, and they would be forcefully ejected back into the outside world.

"Since we need to remake his body from scratch, the chances of a mutation are very high," Daedalus stated. "Do you already have an idea of what kind of bloodline you will bestow upon Troy? We have plenty of flesh and blood from the Bronze Dragon, so making him a Dragonkin is not impossible."

Leone shook his head. "We won’t use dragon parts for him. He is the chieftain of the Darkmane Tribe, after all. Instead, his new form should remain true to his roots. Otherwise, his people might no longer follow him."

"Leone, has anyone told you that you’re such a caring person?" Daedalus said. "No wonder your family cares so much about you."

"Do I look like a caring person to you?"

"Yes. Very much so. If not, you wouldn’t have cared about Troy’s well-being. Someone uncaring wouldn’t help someone who was once their enemy."

The young man couldn’t find any words to refute the grimoire’s reply. Instead, he just told Daedalus how he planned to recreate Troy’s body.

"I see..." Daedalus nodded. "So that’s the reason why you asked me to find that body after I stored the Bronze Dragon inside my pages."

What Leone wanted to give Troy wasn’t Dragon Blood.

Instead, the blood he planned to infuse into him was Manticore Blood.

Now that the Guardian of the Darkmane Tribe had perished, they no longer had a powerful creature that could protect them.

Since that was the case, then why not make Troy their guardian instead? As the chieftain of the Darkmane Tribe, he had a duty to protect his people.

"I will agree to help Troy, but on one condition," Daedalus declared. "I will attach a mana bomb to his heart. That way, if he ever plans to betray us, I can kill him on the spot. I’m not as nice as you, Leone. Since I am the one making Troy’s body, I want to make sure that he won’t step out of bounds."

"Are you going to tell him about the mana bomb?" Leone inquired.

"Of course not," Daedalus replied. "That way, I can kill him without him knowing how he died."

"Very well." Leone nodded. "I agree to this condition."

He had already shown Troy mercy out of respect for him. However, if the chieftain of the Darkmane Tribe still wished to become their enemy after that, then he would not sit still and let them harm his people.

He had no qualms about the method Daedalus planned to implement. After all, this was a safeguard from future troubles that he would rather not face again.

"Aside from Manticore Blood, can we also add another bloodline?" Leone asked.

"We can," Daedalus answered. "However, half-breeds are hit or miss. Sometimes they develop many problems, especially if a mutation occurs. Combining bloodlines doesn’t necessarily make a creature strong. Though, if done properly, side effects can be minimized."

The grimoire was very curious about what kind of bloodline Leone planned to mix with the Manticore Blood.

"I want to add the blood of the Ogre Warlord to the mix," Leone said in a serious tone. "Just enough, though. That way, Troy would develop a powerful regeneration ability."

The Manticore’s blood already had a strong regeneration ability. Though in comparison, the Ogre Warlord’s regeneration was a grade higher.

It was so strong that the wounds it sustained would heal within a few seconds.

Daedalus then made calculations on how much Ogre Blood could be mixed with the Manticore Blood.

After doing a few simulations, it concluded that a fifth of the total blood in Troy’s body should be composed of Ogre’s blood.

The grimoire also planned to add some Manticore flesh to the mix, which would allow Troy to transform into a Beastkin.

"There’s an 85% chance that Troy would become a Lionkin, and a 15% chance for him to become an Ogrekin," Daedalus stated. "Do you want to add another special ingredient just to make things a bit more interesting?"

"A special ingredient?" Leone blinked. "What are you talking about?"

"Oh... it’s because one of my previous owners had this habit of adding a special ingredient whenever he combined monsters for Beast Synthesis," Daedalus answered. "Sometimes, it would produce amazing results, like giving the monster a unique ability."

Leone shook his head firmly. "I don’t like to create variables that are outside of my control. Maybe we can experiment with the captured monsters, but not with Troy."

"Fair enough." Daedalus agreed. "I have already prepared the materials for Beast Synthesis. Should I proceed?"

Leone nodded. "Yes. Make it happen, Daedalus."

The grimoire glowed faintly in response as it opened its pages.

Soon, countless runes swirled around its body as it combined the ingredients to create a new body for Troy.

Leone watched all of this happen silently from the side with a calm that surprised even himself.

In any case, he hoped that the Chieftain of the Darkmane Tribe would no longer become his enemy after his revival.

But rather a dependable ally that would allow the Aslan Tribe to recover from this battle that had killed many of his precious people.
