At the moment, the underground city’s plaza was packed with tables and chairs.
As the place chosen to hold all the tribe’s special events, it was spacious enough to accommodate over a thousand people.
Many years had passed since the Sandreaver Tribe had last allowed an outsider to set foot in their city.
Everyone wanted to see the Chieftain of the Aslan Tribe to know what he was like, especially now that they knew about how he led his tribe against the middle and high-ranking tribes supposedly more powerful than them and emerged victorious.
Those who could not enter the crowded plaza simply watched the festivities from their windows and their rooftops.
Soon, the city was bustling. All the ladies even unanimously wore their best clothes, hoping to impress the handsome young man whom they found pleasing in the eyes.
Leone had also shed his traveling clothes and was currently taking a bath with Yuni.
Both of them had prepared their own ceremonial clothes, which they would wear for the special occasion.
Leone would be dressed in the clothes he wore during the war against the Darkmane Tribe and the monster army.
Of course, it was something Daedalus crafted.
The grimoire had painstakingly woven countless magical enchantments into the Battle Regalia, ensuring it was far more than just a ceremonial outfit.
Not only did it look incredibly good when Leone wore it, but it could also defend against blades and arrows to a certain extent.
It also had high resistance against magic, allowing Leone to survive whatever offensive spell landed on his body.
As for its appearance, it looked like something a prince of the Kingdom of Britannia or the Radiant Empire would wear.
Daedalus knew Leone had no intention of hiding his roots, so he designed his clothes with that intention in mind.
Sure, he wasn’t a barbarian born in the Borderlands. However, that didn’t stop him from becoming a chieftain of a barbarian tribe.
On the other hand, Yuni wore the same lightweight armor she used in war, which highlighted her features.
The grimoire designed it to allow free movement while still offering decent protection against projectiles and blades that might hit her body during the heat of battle.
Brann and Otto did not stray from the pair’s dress code.
They all attended this feast as if they were going to war. And so, the moment they appeared in the plaza, everyone looked at them with admiration and respect.
Of course, Malik also wore one of his best clothes suitable for the occasion. His wife and two sons had also come to attend the feast to show everyone that they had a good relationship with the Aslan Tribe.
Malik and Leone sat on the seat of honor, while Yuni sat beside Malik’s wife.
Otto and Brann shared a table with Malik’s sons, with the two young men looking at them as if they were sizing up someone they would one day face on the battlefield.
"I thank everyone for coming to this special event," Malik said with a smile. "It has been a long time since the Sandreaver Tribe has opened its doors to people from the outside world.
"We did it not out of fear, but because we believed there was no need for us to interact with other people. However, times have changed. Just like how the seasons pass, we must also adapt to the new trends that are happening in our world.
"The war I witnessed with my two eyes made me understand that the world is truly a big place. Countless heroes have emerged in this era. The Chieftain of the Aslan Tribe is one of them."
Malik then glanced at Leone, and the latter stood up while holding a goblet in his hand.
"It is my great honor to be invited here to the Sandreaver Tribe," Leone said calmly. "I have heard many stories about the mysterious tribe that had detached itself from the outside world.
"They do not care about politics, nor do they care about the ambitions of their neighbors. They simply exist quietly within their domain. And yet, I know for a fact that if anyone dares to threaten their peace, their warriors will rise and drive away the enemies who covet the Sandreaver Tribe’s secrets."
Cheers and clapping reverberated around the plaza in response. Leone’s words were well received by the people of the Sandreaver Tribe.
"I have come bearing a gift for everyone," Leone said with a smile. "Some of you may have heard about our battle against the Darkmane Tribe and the Monster King. However, none of you know how it transpired. Today, I will show it to you, so please look forward to it."
Earlier, Malik had asked Leone if he could show his tribe the battle against the Monster King, similar to what had been done in the Bonegnash Tribe.
Leone readily agreed, thinking this would be a great opportunity for the Elders to see with their own eyes the battle that decided the fate of the Borderlands.
"Eat, drink, and make merry!" Malik declared before raising the goblet in his hand. "To our lasting friendship with the Aslan Tribe!"
"""To our lasting friendship!"""
The crowd replied in unison before drinking the special drink unique to the Sandreaver Tribe. Since it had alcohol in it, Leone and Yuni decided to drink fruit juice instead.
Leone also drank from his goblet and sat back at the same time as Malik took his seat.
The people then started to eat and chat happily.
Ten minutes later, a giant projection appeared behind Leone and Malik.
Daedalus had modified the "movie" to showcase the Darkmane Tribe, the Aslan Tribe, and the Sandreaver Tribe’s bravery during the battle.
It took out the screen time of Hagen’s mishaps, focusing more on the bravery of all the tribes that had fought tooth and nail against the Monster King.
Rashid, as well as the other Elders who opposed Malik, momentarily forgot their plan to humiliate Leone in public.
Instead, their eyes were glued to the images that were being shown.
When they saw Troy fight against the Monster King by himself, everyone nearly forgot how to breathe.
The battle was so engaging, and they were also inspired by the man’s bravery in the face of adversity.
Daedalus also made sure to highlight many of Leone’s moments, especially the part where he led the charge to save Troy.
Daedalus didn’t remove the special effects as Leone made his entrance in slow motion, making the young ladies swoon at the sight.
Then, the battle against the Monster King continued, making everyone cheer as Leone led everyone back to the fortress of the Aslan Tribe safely.
The grimoire also removed the parts where Leone fought against the Ogre Warlord using his kingdom-building powers.
That was Leone’s trump card, which they didn’t want to become public knowledge for the time being.
While everyone was busy watching, Malik and Leone chatted casually while eating.
Their words were drowned out by the sounds in the projection, so no one could eavesdrop on their conversation.
Actually, no one paid the two chieftains any attention at that moment. The "movie" was simply too engaging!
Malik had two reasons why he had asked Leone to show the scenes of the battle.
The first one was to let the Sandreaver Tribe know that the rules of the battlefield were now very different from the past.
He wanted to show them that the other tribes now had powerful trump cards that surpassed their own.
The second one was to show everyone that the Borderlands were beginning to enter a new era.
An era where alliances led to growth and prosperity if they chose to ally themselves with the right people.
The Elders who supported Malik from the start felt like they had made the right decision.
As for Rashid and his faction, they were starting to think that messing with Leone was not really a good idea.
This was especially true after seeing how powerful the Aslan Tribe was.
Before they saw the projection, they still looked down on Leone. But now, they were starting to think that perhaps they had underestimated him too much.
’It seems that he’s not all talk,’ Rashid thought as he briefly glanced at the young man who was still chatting with his chieftain.
Now that he had seen what the Aslan Tribe was capable of doing, he felt a bit embarrassed when he said that Leone only won due to luck.
Sure, luck did play a part. However, after seeing the events unfold the way they did, it made him understand that he was merely a frog in the well.
He had stayed too long within the peaceful underground city of the Sandreaver Tribe.
It must be why Rashid had forgotten the danger of the outside world.
A world he had chosen to escape during the prime years of his life.
