My Kingdom Building Done Right!

Chapter 343: Your Words And Actions Do Not Match

After the matter with the treasure and the brief family revelation was over, Leone spent an hour talking to his mother.

However, that one hour got extended when his little sister, Elizabeth, went to find their mother and saw her talking to Leone.

Naturally, the little girl didn’t waste the opportunity to talk to her big brother, whom she had been missing dearly.

"Big Brother, see you soon!" Elizabeth said while blowing a kiss at the mirror.

"See you soon, Eliza," Leone replied with a smile, blowing her a kiss back.

Yuni smiled faintly after seeing this endearing exchange between brother and sister. She could tell how much Leone loved his family and thought about how difficult it must be for him to be separated from them.

’Now I understand why she treats Aria like a little sister when they first met,’ Yuni thought.

But now, that same "little sister" had ended up accompanying Leone three times a week as a nightly companion.

Soon, the connection ended.

With that, Jeeves finally bade farewell to Leone, calling him Young Master before he left to return to his duties.

However, rather than head back to the Borderlands, Leone stayed inside the treasury instead to check out the artifacts Daedalus had taken, excluding the white box it couldn’t store inside its pages.

"Five Epic-Grade Armors, three Epic-Grade Swords, two Epic Grade Spears, and five Epic-Grade Shields," Daedalus said. "Then we have two Legendary-Grade Artifacts and a Legendary-Grade Monster Core."

The two Legendary Artifacts were actually a folding fan and a badge.

According to Daedalus, the folding fan was actually a weapon that could create strong gusts of wind when used in battle. It could also unleash Wind Cutters with deadly precision in the hands of a master.

As for the badge, it was more straightforward. It conjured a shield that protected its wearer from any incoming damage.

The shield also had a purifying effect, allowing its wearer to enter places that reeked of either poison mist or miasma.

"You should wear that, Leone," Yuni insisted.

Brann and Otto strongly agreed with her, so Leone relented.

Aside from the shield, he also carried three protective charms that Aria had won in the Wheel of Fortune.

These charms worked similarly to Troy’s life-saving artifact and would prevent him from taking fatal damage three times during the war.

He had always held it close since Aria gave it to him while saying that he was very precious and that he should take more care of himself.

"How about the fan?" Leone blinked. "Who should use this?"

It was a Legendary-Grade artifact, after all. When wielded by someone who could use it effectively, its user would become a force to be reckoned with.

"Just keep it for safekeeping until we find its rightful owner," Yuni replied. "Maybe we can hold a special event in the tribe in the future and see if any of the warriors can wield it properly."

"That’s a good idea." Leone nodded in agreement. "Let’s store it for now."

Since the other items they managed to get from the vault were all Epic grade, Leone planned to hand them out to his vassals. The leftovers would be used as rewards for any warriors that had done a great service to the Aslan Tribe.

As for the Legendary-Grade Monster Core, Daedalus believed that it came from an Elder Dragon that Lord Azar and his wife might have encountered during their journey.

In fact, this monster core was even stronger than the core they got from the Monster King they fought in the war.

With this, they could help Lord Azar achieve a complete recovery. As for the Dragon Egg, Daedalus had actually thought of a plan to save it already.

Beast Synthesis.

In other words, they would use the egg as an ingredient to awaken it forcefully and give birth to a monster.

However, whether the child that would be born from the egg would turn out to be a full-blooded Dragon or not, the grimoire wasn’t sure.

The plan was to use a generous amount of Bronze Dragon Blood and sacrifice either the Rank 6 Core from the Black-Scaled Basilisk or the Rank 6 Core of the Ogre Warlord.

According to Daedalus, the core from the Black-Scaled Basilisk would be more compatible with the egg. After all, some Basilisks had Lesser Dragon Blood in them as well.

Then again, Leone had a feeling that Lord Azar didn’t really care what form its child would take as long as it was alive.

After all, it had fed the egg its life force to keep it alive for nearly a century. That alone showed how much it cared for the legacy that its wife had left behind.

Since this matter was already settled, that only left one last problem to deal with.

All eyes stared at the pedestal at the center of the cavern to address this problem.

[Heaven’s Lost Property]

Item Grade: Divine

Description: ????

When Leone first saw it, he thought Daedalus had made a mistake. However, as a divine item itself, it could sense that the box was indeed the real deal.

The grimoire further explained that unless the box was opened, no one could take it away from the pedestal.

With that, Leone was left with two choices.

To open... or not to open.

"It’s a Divine-Grade Artifact, so whatever is inside must be precious, right?" Leone asked Daedalus.

"I honestly don’t know," Daedalus admitted. "The box may contain something, or it can also be empty. Either way, opening it is the only way we can confirm our suspicions."

The only thing that was stopping Leone from opening the box was the warning written in ancient text carved on the very pedestal where the box lay peacefully.

"Do not open unless you are curious. But be warned. The moment you open it, you’ll be in very, very, veeeeeeeeeeeeery big trouble."

Leone and everyone else were, without a doubt, very curious to know what was inside ‌it.

Yet, one question remained.

Was he prepared for big trouble?

Leone pondered, and pondered some more.

The more he looked at the box, the more it gnawed at his mind.

"Okay, let’s not open this box," Leone declared.

"""...""" Everyone looked back at him with judgmental stares.

Although he declared that they wouldn’t open the box, his hands were already holding onto it as if he was about to open its lid any time.

"Your words and actions do not match, Master," Daedalus commented. "Be careful. The lid might open if you add a bit more force to your hand."

The young man reluctantly pulled his hands back from the white box.

"Fine, we’ll just leave it here for now," Leone stated. "Since we can always go back to this place using the magical formation, we have plenty of opportunities to observe it."

After making up his mind, he called out to everyone to stand close to him. The magical formation inside the Dragon’s nest was now under his control.

He now understood that he could freely travel between the temple and this place anytime he wanted.

The moment the magic circle activated, Leone and his companions were bathed in a radiant light.

Though, as if waiting for that moment, the white box suddenly flew away from the pedestal and headed toward Leone as if it didn’t want to be left alone.

It even shrank its body to enter the young man’s pocket without being detected by him.

A few seconds later, Leone and his companions disappeared from the cavern and returned to the temple.
