My Kingdom Building Done Right!

Chapter 358: Itching To Take Revenge

Two days after Leone’s talk with his mother and the Helion Family...

The young man blinked once, then twice, as he looked at the number of people and monsters that were currently inside the Forgotten Temple.

The barbarians, Orcs, and Kobolds were currently offering their prayers at the altar, which Leone and Daedalus had modified after they returned from the meeting.

The main altar was now bigger compared to before. However, that wasn’t the only change Leone and Daedalus had made during their remodeling.

Instead of one statue, there were now three statues in the main hall of the temple. This was the compromise that Leone had thought of, so that he wouldn’t offend the Earth Mother, and the Goddess of Light.

The statue of the Goddess Eostre stood at the center.

On her right side was the statue of the Earth Mother.

And on her left side was none other than the Goddess of Light, Aine.

Daedalus warned that although the Gods couldn’t directly interfere with their world, Tianna’s warning should not be ignored either.

In order to fix this problem, Leone made a decision.

Why not just add the statues of the Earth Mother and the Goddess of Light to the temple as well?

He even coined them the Holy Trinity of the Aslan Tribe.

Back then, the young man thought that he would be the only one who would pray inside the Forgotten Temple.

However, the children got curious and visited the temple as well. When they saw the three Goddesses, they decided to pray to them as well.

They even started calling the three statues the "Three Mothers of the Aslan Tribe".

Soon, the adults heard of it. Before Leone could even do anything, the barbarians started visiting the temple to bring offerings. One thing led to another, and everyone in the tribe decided to visit the temple at least once.

Since the three Goddesses didn’t have any conflict with each other, Kael made sure to take the initiative and advertised this to the entire Aslan Tribe.

"Our Great Chieftain always visits the temple to pray for the growth and continued peace of the Aslan Tribe," Kael said in a solemn tone. "As his subjects, we must also pray to the three Goddesses and ask them to watch over our chieftain and our tribe!"

Due to Kael’s passionate speech, the barbarians went to the temple to pray to the three Goddesses.

When the Orcs heard of this, they became curious and also visited the temple.

It didn’t take long before this news also reached the Kobolds. With that, they, too, went to the temple to give their offerings and ask the three Goddesses for blessings.

"Looks like you won’t be able to appreciate the statue of Eostre as you used to, Leone," Daedalus said in a teasing tone.

"I don’t mind," Leone replied calmly. "I just hope that Lady Eostre wakes up sooner after hearing the prayers of the Aslan Tribe."

Daedalus could tell that its Master was genuinely happy with the current situation.

"Master..."

"Yes?"

"Nothing."

Leone looked at the hovering grimoire by his side with confusion. However, since Daedalus didn’t have any intention of continuing the topic, he decided to let the matter drop.

Truth be told, Daedalus wanted to tell Leone that waking up the Goddess Eostre would be a very difficult undertaking.

But in the small chance that he succeeded...

The Goddess would definitely repay the favor no matter what.

’Things will definitely become lively if that happens,’ Daedalus mused.

For a man, having the favor of Gods, especially Goddesses, wasn’t always a good thing.

Though, if it was Leone, Daedalus was certain that its Master, who was a bundle of positivity, had a shot at making even a Goddess swoon.

Suddenly, Kael entered the temple and whispered something in Leone’s ear.

"Great Chieftain, all the Pteranodon Riders have returned and completed their mission," Kael whispered.

Leone nodded and followed the shaman to meet the messengers, who had delivered his letters to the chieftains of the Borderlands.

When the two arrived at the room where the messengers had gathered, the latter immediately stood and greeted their Great Chieftain.

"At ease, everyone," Leone said warmly. "All of you did a great job. I don’t want to disturb your rest, so I’ll just ask you a few questions. How did the chieftains react to my message?"

"Lord Troy of the Darkmane Tribe said that he will take the matter seriously," replied the messenger who had been tasked to deliver Leone’s letter to Troy.

Although Leone could just talk to Troy through the communication crystal he left with Travis, he decided to use regular methods to deliver his message instead.

This would allow the Pteranodon Riders to gain experience in long-distance travel, as well as give them an estimate of how long it would take for them to arrive at their destination.

"Lord Malik said that he would join the caravan that would arrive here in a few days so that he could talk to you personally." Soon, the messenger that had gone to the Sandreaver Tribe made his report.

"The Great Shaman said that he will be here within a week," the one who had delivered Leone’s two letters to the Grimhowl Tribe stated. "As for Lord Hagen, he said that he will make the necessary preparations."

"Lord Godwin of the Warclaw Tribe said that he will send messengers to Eden and ask them to heighten the security around the fortress," the messenger said.

The messengers who made their way to Eden had also reported that they managed to pass Leone’s letters to Oswald, Duncan, and Garen.

In response, the three chieftains said that they would help in the defense of Eden.

"Good." Leone nodded in satisfaction. "Thank you for your efforts. Please rest well."

""Yes, Great Chieftain!""

After leaving the room, Leone decided to head to the fortress. He planned to take Yuni, Otto, Brann, and Boris with him on a trip to check the boundary between the Kingdom of Britannia and the Borderlands.

He had no plans to stay cooped up within Grimjaw Mountain and just wait for their enemies to arrive.

Just like what he did to the Darkmane Tribe, he planned to strike the enemy during their march to the Borderlands.

Though when Leone and his team were about to leave, Blitz suddenly landed on Arion’s head and struck a dubbing pose.

*Squeak!*

"You want to go with us?" Leone smirked.

*Squeak!*

"Fine. You can tag along."

The flying squirrel was so happy that it started to dance on top of Arion’s head, making Yuni giggle at the sight.

A few minutes later, they took flight to head north. But at that moment, another group of people—errr, another group of Orcs decided to join their journey.

Rasta and three Orc Shamans flew alongside the young man, telling him that Logan had ordered them to join this mission.

Thinking that his sworn brother was simply worried about his safety, he decided to accept the bodyguards who were assigned to him.

After traveling for nearly half a day, Leone and his companions finally arrived at their destination.

Soon, they landed on top of a cliff, overlooking the fortress city that belonged to the Kingdom of Britannia.

While this was Leone’s first time seeing this particular fortress, he had heard its name in the past.

Stoneguard Fortress.

The southernmost fortress of the Kingdom of Britannia that faced the Borderlands.

"So, this is the Stoneguard Fortress," Leone muttered as he observed the surroundings.

He was already taking in key locations that might become useful in launching a surprise attack at the Britannian Army that would soon gather at this very fortress.

Leone now understood the horrors of war after experiencing it once firsthand.

He had already braced himself to be more ruthless, not caring how many of his countrymen would die in the upcoming war.

Except for the Knight Cavalry of the Frontera Army, everyone else was fair game.

After all, the last bit of love he felt for the Kingdom of Britannia had already disappeared the moment he was exiled.

In fact, Leone was already itching to take revenge upon the nobles and their armies, who had all conspired to frame him and his family for a crime that he didn’t commit.

And he would make sure that when this war was over, the King of Britannia would not dare to send his army to the Borderlands ever again.
