My Kingdom Building Done Right!

Chapter 361: The Upcoming Invasion

After completing the goal he had set for himself, Leone and his entourage made their way back to Grimjaw Mountain.

As soon as he arrived, he called for all his vassals, as well as all the decision-makers of the Ravage Tribe, the Red-Scale Tribe, and the Bonegnash Tribe.

At the villa meant for the high-ranking tribes, they gathered around a big table set in the middle.

Leone then spread out the giant map Daedalus had created after registering the territory around the Stoneguard Fortress.

Tianna, Vlad, and Elias had also been invited to the gathering since Leone didn’t think he should keep this information a secret from them.

"A few days ago, I sent messengers to the other tribes, telling them that the Kingdom of Britannia might launch an invasion at the Borderlands," Leone said calmly.

Vlad, Elias, and Brent were surprised by this news.

As for the Bonegnash Tribe, they had only arrived in the Aslan Tribe not that long ago and were still adapting to their new environment. That being said, news of the upcoming invasion made Brent look anxiously at the young chieftain.

He knew that Leone had been exiled from the Kingdom of Britannia. Some rumors even say that he was a spy sent by the kingdom to break the order of the Borderlands.

However, after spending time with Leone, Brent understood that these rumors were unfounded. After all, he saw how deeply the young man cared for his people.

Not to mention, if he really was a spy from the Kingdom of Britannia, he wouldn’t have bothered informing the other chieftains about their upcoming invasion.

Meanwhile, Tianna remained calm. Before Leone left, he had briefly told her about his trip to the north while waiting for the others to arrive at the meeting.

"Their invasion will coincide with the Tribal Gathering," Leone declared. "And the worst part is that the Kingdom of Britannia has a collaborator."

"A collaborator?" Elias’ eyes widened in shock after thinking of a possibility. "...The Aurelion Empire."

"Right." Leone nodded in confirmation. "You’re quick on the uptake, Elias."

Vlad glanced at Elias before looking at the map of the Stoneguard Fortress. He also wanted to contribute to the conversation, eager to receive Leone’s praise.

"Two weeks from now, we will make our way to Eden," Leone declared. "I will only be bringing fifty warriors from the Aslan Tribe, excluding Jason, Ulric, and Kael. The rest will remain here at Grimjaw Mountain to prepare for the upcoming war."

The young man paused for a bit before placing several small stones on the map.

"While I am in Eden, my vassals, the Ravage Tribe, and a few warriors from the Bonegnash Tribe will head to the lands near the Stoneguard Fortress. Their objective is to employ guerrilla tactics to delay the army’s advance toward the south.

"I’ll say this now, but don’t count on the Aslan Tribe and our allies to fend off the entire Britannian Army. It is an impossible task. Plus, they will be fighting out in the open."

The young chieftain then told everyone who was gathered there the true objective of this invasion.

When Vlad, Elias, and Brent found out that Eden was being targeted by both the Kingdom of Britannia and the Aurelion Empire, their expressions all turned solemn.

Tianna sighed internally at those words, fully knowing that the Borderlands would once again be dyed in blood.

"If they attack Eden from both the north and the south, it will be an uphill battle for us." Elias subconsciously clenched his fists. "These bastards. Why won’t they just leave us alone?!"

"The answer is really simple," Leone replied. "This period is the perfect opportunity to strike."

Now that the Monster Stampede was no longer an issue, the Kingdom of Britannia could march southward without fear.

On top of that, the majority of the tribes would gather in Eden, so theoretically, no one could stop their advance.

Even if a tribe decided to block their path, the Britannians were confident that their superior army and weapons would annihilate anyone who stood in their way.

While Leone was still surveying the Stoneguard Fortress, he had reached out to Troy using Travis’ communication crystal and told him about his discovery.

The moment the chieftain heard Leone’s report, he decided to take all of his tribesmen, including the members of the Bonegnash Tribe who had joined them, to Eden.

He didn’t even hesitate, knowing that if he were to leave them behind, they would be easily crushed by the Britannian Army that would march southward.

Since Leone was also busy, he had asked Troy to pass the message along to the other chieftains.

Of course, with the survival of the barbarians on the line, Troy readily agreed to Leone’s request.

The young man was certain that Godwin and Hagen would also take this seriously. Though if they didn’t... Well, that was their problem.

As for the Sandreaver Tribe? Leone wasn’t too worried about them.

Unless the Britannian General was kicked by a donkey in the head when he was a child, the Britannian Army would not waste their time and go sightseeing in the Sandreaver Desert.

It would be a waste of time. The effort was not worth it.

Since Malik and Lord Azar would arrive in a few days, Leone planned to ask them if they could join them in the upcoming guerrilla battle against the Britannian Army.

After all, having a Rank 7 Shanlong would definitely bolster their lineup in the upcoming battle. Then again, even that didn’t make Leone feel too confident about their chances.

Why?

Because the Kingdom of Britannia had a few trump cards, including an archmage who had gained the title of Dragon Slayer.

She went by the name Merlinda Vi Britannia.

(A/N: *cough*)

She was the great archmage who had accompanied the Britannian Army during their first campaign to the Borderlands.

However, since Gundar was there, even her most lethal spells fell harmlessly on the barbarian army.

Leone was sure that she would come and join the battle as well.

The young man even told Otto to make Merlinda his primary target. That way, they could strike fear into the heart of the powerful lady who could annihilate hundreds, and perhaps even thousands of warriors, with a single spell.

"We will do our very best until the bitter end," Leone said with determination. "However, I’ll say this now. The final battle will undoubtedly be held in Eden. That is where we will make our last stand."

Although being surrounded by two armies would be incredibly challenging, Leone still had hope.

Why?

Because the moment his body double placed his banner in Eden, the fortress city would effectively become his second territory.

And once that happened, Leone would be able to use his kingdom building powers to defend the holy city of the barbarian tribes.

As long as he could keep Eden, he believed that the Aslan Tribe and their allies would have a fighting chance of surviving the invasion.

Little did Leone know that this war would be far more than just a simple conflict between the Borderlands and the two great powers surrounding them.

If anything, the battle for Eden would only be the beginning.

This war would be the trigger of a much greater conflict.

A battle that would eventually spill beyond the boundaries of the Borderlands, which would take the major powers on the continent by surprise.
