My Overpowered Bunny Girls

Chapter 145: The Cleansing Begins (1)

A few days after visiting the Alchemist, a sharp siren noise tore Nathan from a deep sleep.

For a quick, confusing second, he thought it was a dream. The loud wail cut through the apartment like a knife, rising and falling in the exact pattern of a TCA emergency alarm. Then his system screen flashed to life. Red warnings filled his vision, and he was on his feet before his mind fully woke up.

[CRITICAL ALERT: Multiple Tower Collapses detected across the outer regions.]

[All active Climbers report to their guild halls immediately.]

[This is not a drill.]

[Repeat: This is not a drill.]

The room was a mess of rapid motion. Lucy was sitting up in bed, her eyes wide with fear next to her blinking nightlight. Mirko, Kuro, and Shiro had already changed into their human forms. Mirko’s green armor locked into place, Kuro’s daggers caught the red alarm light, and Shiro’s golden eyes locked onto the danger.

"Master!" Mirko’s voice was sharp. She was totally awake. "The alerts—"

"I see them." Nathan was already pulling on his combat suit. His hands moved fast and sure. A second later, he held his bow, Moonlight. The silver metal glowed brightly in his grip. The magic ring hummed on his finger, and his energy battery was fully charged.

’The Cleansing,’ Kuro said through the mental link. Her voice was cold and perfectly calm. ’The Court has begun.’

"Nathan?" Lucy’s voice was small. Her knuckles were white from gripping her blankets. "What’s happening? Why are the sirens going off?"

Nathan knelt beside her bed and put his hands on her shoulders. Outside, the sirens kept screaming from every direction. Through the window, he saw lights turning on all over the city. Climbers were waking up. Guilds were getting ready. The capital was going to war.

"The bad people we’ve been fighting—the Nemesis Court—are attacking the outer edges of the city. A lot of Towers are breaking down all at once. I have to go."

Lucy’s eyes watered, but she didn’t cry. She was eleven years old, and she had watched her brother leave for dangerous fights more times than she could count. "You’re going to fight them."

"Yes."

"Are you going to come back?"

Nathan looked right into her eyes. "I’m going to come back. I promise. Mrs. Chen will stay with you. You’ll be safe here."

"You always promise," Lucy whispered. "And you always come back."

"Because I mean it. Every time." He kissed her forehead. "Stay inside. Stay safe. I’ll be home as soon as I can."

Shiro stepped forward. Her stiff, royal posture softened as she looked down at Lucy. "Small one. The Young Lord tells the truth. We will protect him, and we will return. I swear this on the dragon’s heart that gave me life."

Lucy stared at the dragon bunny for a second. Then she nodded, setting her jaw with the same stubborn look Nathan saw in his own mirror. "Okay. Go. Fight the bad people. Come back."

Nathan stood up. His three summons fell into step around him—Mirko on the right, Kuro on the left, Shiro just behind. Moonlight hummed in his hand.

"Let’s move."

---

Celestial Peak was a storm of organized panic.

The main hall had been turned into a war room. Climbers rushed through the doors, some still strapping on their armor. Summons appeared everywhere—stone golems, fire spirits, and giant beasts. Helena’s electric bird sat on a ceiling beam, its blue feathers sparking with lightning. The air was thick and heavy with magic.

Valerie stood at the center screen. Her usual coffee mug was missing. Her face was hard as her sharp eyes scanned the glowing map. It showed the outer regions of the city, covered in dozens of blinking red dots. Each dot was a breaking Tower. Each dot was a village or a camp right in the path of danger.

"Nathan." She didn’t turn around. "Good. You’re here. Get your team to the briefing room. We’re handing out zones."

The party gathered fast. Garrett held his giant mace, Volcan, which already glowed red-hot. His sheep, Red, was covered in thick armor. Dillon stood with his lightning boots buzzing, while his snake, Cloudy, sparked above his head. Elise gripped her staff, the Frost Golem standing tall and freezing the air around it. They lined up behind Nathan without a word, their faces just as serious as his.

"The Nemesis Court has started the Cleansing," Valerie yelled out, her voice cutting through the noise. The big room went completely quiet. "They are hitting the outer regions all at once. At least thirty Towers are breaking down right now. The TCA is sending every Climber they have, but there aren’t enough of us. The outer regions are burning."

She tapped the map. The red dots grew in number. Nathan counted them—thirty, thirty-five, forty—each one a disaster waiting to happen.

"Our guild is in charge of the eastern side. We’ve split it into zones based on team strength." Valerie finally looked at Nathan. "Cross. Your team has the most high-level experience. You’re getting the hardest target."

She zoomed in on a map section. It showed three small villages in a valley, right next to a high-level Tower. The Tower’s marker flashed deep red. It was about to burst.

"This Tower is already spitting out monsters. Three villages are in the way—about eight hundred people. A small TCA team is there helping them escape, but they are losing. Your job is to protect the escape route, stop the monsters, and buy time for the big TCA team to fix the Tower." She stared hard at Nathan. "You’re the only party I trust with this. Don’t let me down."

"We won’t," Nathan said. "We’ll handle it."

Valerie nodded. "All teams—move out now! Go!"

The guild truck raced through the city’s east gate with Old Marren at the wheel. The streets were a mess. Regular people ran for safe shelters, while Climbers rushed to their guilds. The sirens just kept wailing. In the distance, the sky over the outer regions glowed a sick, bloody red from the breaking Towers.

"The outside is burning," Marren said, his wrinkled face tight. "Saw it on the scanners before the alarms even rang. I’ve been driving this route for thirty years. Never seen the sky look like that."

Nathan sat in the back, resting Moonlight on his knees. The silver bow pulsed with light, reacting to the wild magic in the air. The outside world was flooding with it—the chaotic energy of broken Towers and the desperate magic of Climbers fighting for their lives.

His three summons were in their small bunny forms. Mirko sat on his right shoulder, Kuro on his left, and Shiro rested calmly on his head. Through their mental link, he could feel they were focused and ready.

Garrett checked his fiery mace for the third time. Red the sheep took up two seats, its four black eyes staring at the red sky.

Dillon’s boots sparked loudly. Cloudy wrapped around his neck, her scales buzzing. "Thirty Towers. The Court’s been planning this for a long time. And we’re just supposed to... stop it? All of it?"

"We stop what we can," Elise said. Her voice was steady, but her knuckles were white on her staff. "We save who we can reach. We hold the line until help arrives. That’s all we can do."

"It’s the exact same fight we’ve been fighting," Nathan said. "The Court. The broken Towers. The monsters. We’ve done this before at Ashwick and the Whispering Dark. This is just bigger. Same bad guys. Same fight. We know how to win."
