Aurelius knew that what would limit his development in the near future would not be his lack of Experience, but the Advancement Rituals.

His advancement to Rank 1 had already shown that Arcanists would face great difficulties if they wished to advance, difficulties far greater than any other Class.

The Advancement Ritual for Rank 1 had required him to absorb the Divinity that was exclusive to Gods.

Although he didn’t know what it was, the one required for Rank 2 was likely to be even more dangerous.

Aurelius soon shook his head. All he could do was try his best.

Sitting on his bed, Aurelius hurriedly opened the Player Panel.

Seeing the increased Experience, enough to upgrade Arcanist or Alchemist a couple more times, he smiled in satisfaction.

Yet he didn’t rush to use it for now.

Instead, he focused on a button near the bottom of the Player Panel.

The panel instantly faded away. In its place was the familiar interface of the game’s forum.

It had been quite a while since Aurelius had taken a look at it.

Despite this, things had remained the same.

The top posts were all from Players complaining about the game.

Those who were dead cursed at the game company, while those stuck in small, black rooms pleaded for help from other Players.

Unfortunately, they received no answers.

Aurelius smiled upon seeing this.

He had seen many people accept these requests before. Yet when they went to the various churches and planned to perform a great prison escape, their messages were quickly deleted.

In turn, several more posts asking for help appeared.

’It seems that TheoryMaster69 is not the only one. Other Players have also started to understand reality and adapt to Nova Roma.’

’At the very least, they are smart enough not to clash with the major organizations anymore.’

He nodded inwardly, scrolling through the many posts until he found something that piqued his interest.

"Player’s Betrayal—the witch who betrayed her companions!!!"

A grand title entered his vision, accompanied by several exclamation marks.

Initially, Aurelius had intended to scroll past it. Such a sensationalist title could not move him.

But when he saw the name of the poster and quickly recognized it, he knew he had to click on it whether he wanted or not.

The moment he did, lines of text materialized in front of him.

"I, World_Builder, wish to denounce TheoryMaster69’s behavior!"

"I’m sure most of you should have heard about it by now. In order to get close to the NPC, this woman decided to sell us out!"

"Everyone! I know what you’re thinking: This is a mere game. Who cares about this?"

"However, you’re wrong! How many of us have poured hours into the game, going as far as to hire maids to take care of us? How many of us have given up on our jobs?"

"What TheoryMaster69 did is akin to stealing our money! No! It’s even worse!"

The post continued for several more paragraphs.

Yet the content remained roughly the same.

World_Builder continued denouncing TheoryMaster69, putting all the blame on her. Had Aurelius not known better, he would have believed that she had committed some great crime that went against all morality.

Although Aurelius remained rational, the other Players did not.

With several witnesses to the "crime scene," public opinion began to change.

"That’s right! What TheoryMaster69 did goes against the code of all Players!"

"I propose that we all block her! Let’s see how she will upgrade in the future without any teammates!"

"I’ve always said that this little bitch is not worthy of being popular. Is it not because of her good looks? Hmph! She has finally shown her true colors."

Players of every gender and age piled on TheoryMaster69.

In a shocking turn of events, World_Builder’s post had actually been upvoted!

Upon seeing this, Aurelius knew that things had become serious.

Public opinion had taken a turn!

’Could it be that World_Builder is finally going to defeat his archenemy?’ Aurelius couldn’t help but wonder.

But just as this thought arose in his mind, he noticed a comment soaring through the ranks.

When he focused on it, it stopped in place, allowing him to read it.

Its poster was none other than TheoryMaster69.

Addressing World_Builder’s denouncement, her words were just as sharp, if not even sharper.

"Sigh..."

"I originally wanted to keep things a secret. However, since things have reached this point, I can no longer remain silent."

"Player World_Builder has accused me of betraying my teammates. However, everyone must stop and think. Why would I do that?"

"The reason is simple. I’ve already achieved my goal, and now I have no problem talking about it."

"I got close to NPC Aurelius in order to help other Players! Haven’t you noticed that several more items have appeared in his shop? Haven’t you seen that the tasks we receive from him now have more valuable rewards?"

"...That is because I pleaded with him. I can’t say how, but I can assure you that I paid a heavy price in order to help you all."

It was only a few words. Yet Aurelius had the feeling that he had gone through TheoryMaster69’s mental journey.

The disappointment she felt toward the other Players for denouncing her, the guilt she felt for betraying her teammates, as well as the mysterious price she had paid to accomplish this.

Aurelius nearly upvoted her post.

But soon, he snapped back to reality.

’Damn it! How come I didn’t know that you tried to convince me to upgrade the rewards?’

’Could it be that I’m the fake Aurelius?’

Aurelius had the urge to smack TheoryMaster69 through the screen.

He had indeed raised the rewards, giving more EXP and Favorability. At the same time, he had improved the items in the shop, adding several Relics he had learned to forge.

However, it was all to make a deeper impression on the Players and make them feel grateful toward him.

But now, TheoryMaster69 had stepped forward to claim the credit?
