My System Is a Fallen God: I Level Up Endlessly
Chapter 20: Lethal Synergy, The Gold-Rank ExecutorSaile gripped the lead assassin’s wrist with his left hand.
The heavy, silver-plated arm was locked completely in place.
The killer tried to rip his poisoned dagger free, but he could not move it a single inch. Saile’s face remained completely calm, but his left eye burned with a piercing silver light.
He was still pinned in the dirt.
But he was finally ready to fight back.
"Break him," Naicul whispered inside Saile’s mind.
The ancient God’s voice was smooth.
Hungry.
Saile did not hesitate.
He squeezed his left hand with all his Level 22 strength.
Crack!
A loud, sickening sound echoed through the silent alley.
The assassin screamed as the bones in his wrist shattered. The glowing green dagger slipped from his useless fingers and dropped harmlessly into the dirt.
With a sudden burst of power, Saile kicked both legs upward.
He planted his boots firmly against the assassin’s silver breastplate and pushed.
Boom!
The air cracked with a localized sonic boom.
The sheer physical force sent the Level 35 killer flying backward. He crashed violently into the brick wall before slumping to the ground, completely out of the fight.
Saile immediately pushed himself back onto his feet.
His right hand closed around the hilt of the Corroded Divine Blade.
A few moments ago, the rusted iron had felt like a heavy, clumsy club.
Now, with the ten percent partial synchronization active, it felt perfectly balanced.
Naicul’s centuries of ruthless combat experience flowed directly into Saile’s tired muscles.
It was a lethal combination.
The remaining five Church assassins did not waste time showing their shock.
They were professional Hounds.
They immediately charged.
Two of them lunged from the front, thrusting their poisoned daggers directly toward Saile’s exposed chest.
Saile moved with a terrifying new grace.
He did not retreat a single step.
Instead, he dropped his weight low and stepped directly inside their attacks.
The poisoned blades sliced through empty air, missing his shoulders by mere inches.
Saile planted his left boot firmly into the dirt.
His hips twisted sharply.
He combined Naicul’s flawless combat instincts with his own modern acrobatics.
Then he pushed off the ground.
His entire body spun upward.
"Tornado Kick!"
Smack!
His heavy boot slammed directly into the side of the closest assassin’s head.
The sheer physical force of Saile’s Level 22 strength, optimized by Naicul’s ancient combat experience, shattered the killer’s jaw.
A visible shockwave exploded from the impact.
The assassin was thrown completely off his feet and crashed heavily into a stack of rotting wooden crates.
Saile landed smoothly.
He did not stop.
He did not even pause to catch his breath.
His body flowed directly into the next movement.
He dropped his free hand flat against the dirt.
Using the momentum from his kick, he whipped his right leg around in a rapid spin sweep.
Clang!
His boot struck the silver-plated ankles of two assassins at the exact same time.
The sound of denting metal rang loudly between the brick walls.
Their carefully trained stances collapsed instantly.
Both men were swept off their feet and crashed heavily onto the dirt.
Saile popped back up.
His hands closed around the hilt of the Corroded Divine Blade.
He did not need his EX-Rank dark mana.
The weapon was already deadly enough.
Saile raised the rusted blade above his head.
Then he brought it down.
Boom!
The heavy iron slammed directly into the chest of one of the fallen assassins.
The blunt blade crushed through the silver armor and knocked every bit of air from the man’s lungs.
He gasped.
His poisoned dagger slipped from his hand.
Then his eyes rolled backward.
He was unconscious.
The last two assassins stopped.
Their dark eyes widened beneath their black hoods.
They were elite Church Hounds.
They had been trained specifically to hunt rogue mages and Heretics in the darkness.
Yet the teenage boy standing before them was fighting with the instincts of an ancient warlord.
"Do not let them regroup," Naicul commanded coldly.
Saile disappeared forward.
Two quick strides carried him across the distance.
The first assassin thrust his dagger forward in desperate panic.
Saile simply tilted his head.
The poisoned blade passed harmlessly beside his ear.
He stepped inside the assassin’s guard.
Then he drove the heavy pommel of the Corroded Divine Blade directly into the man’s silver helmet.
Crunch!
The metal caved inward.
The assassin collapsed instantly, dropping like a heavy stone.
The final killer turned and ran.
He finally understood.
They were completely outmatched.
Saile reached out and grabbed the back of the man’s black cloak.
He yanked him backward.
The assassin stumbled.
Saile twisted his hips and delivered a heavy kick directly into the back of the man’s knees.
The killer crashed into the dirt.
Before he could recover, Saile struck the back of his neck with the flat side of the heavy blade.
The final assassin went limp.
Silence returned to the alley.
The entire battle had taken less than twenty seconds.
Saile stood alone in the center of the dark alley, breathing heavily.
Thick sweat dripped down his forehead, stinging his brown eye.
His muscles burned with a dull, aching heat.
But the partial synchronization had worked.
He had defeated enemies thirteen levels above him.
Not through overwhelming power.
Not through his EX-Rank dark magic.
Through skill, raw physical ability, acrobatics, and Naicul’s ancient combat instincts.
Suddenly, the bodies of the fallen assassins began to glow.
Their bodies dissolved rapidly into bright blue and golden orbs of light.
The beautiful orbs floated into the cold night air before rushing directly toward Saile.
They entered his chest one after another.
Golden System screens appeared in front of his eyes.
[EX-Rank Talent: Endless Devourer Activated.]
[Enemies Defeated.]
[Massive EXP Gained.]
[Loot Drop: Skill Shard (1/5) Acquired.]
Saile reached out and grabbed the glowing blue crystal floating in front of him.
The moment his fingers touched it, the crystal melted into his hand and disappeared into his System inventory.
[Notice: Skill Shard Capacity Reached (5/5).]
[Forging New Skill...]
Saile’s eyes widened slightly.
A new skill?
He wanted to check it immediately.
But he never got the chance.
The atmosphere in the alley suddenly changed.
The temperature, which had been warm from the intense fighting, plummeted in a single heartbeat.
Absolute cold swept through the street.
A thin white mist began rolling across the dirty cobblestones, creeping around Saile’s boots.
The golden System screens flickered violently.
Their bright gold suddenly turned into a sick, bleeding red.
[Warning.]
Saile’s expression changed.
The ten percent synchronization began fading.
The ancient combat knowledge slipped out of his muscles.
The ruthless instincts that had guided every movement slowly disappeared.
His left eye stopped glowing silver.
It returned to its normal warm brown.
Saile was himself again.
But Naicul’s presence remained heavy inside his mind.
"Saile."
The ancient God’s voice was different.
There was no arrogance.
No mockery.
No sarcasm.
Only warning.
"Turn around."
Saile slowly turned toward the entrance of the alley.
The ground began to tremble.
Not a small vibration.
The dirt shook violently.
Small stones bounced across the ground.
The surrounding brick buildings groaned under an invisible pressure.
Then a massive shadow appeared at the end of the street.
It blocked the pale moonlight.
A figure slowly stepped out of the darkness.
The Gold-Rank Church Executor.
The giant man stood well over six feet tall.
Thick silver armor covered his body, each piece trimmed with pure gold.
His white cloak dragged through the wet mud behind him.
A blinding golden holy aura rolled from his shoulders like burning steam.
The S-Rank holy magic surrounding him was so powerful that the air itself seemed distorted.
The alley looked warped around his body.
In his left hand, the Executor held the dark metal compass.
The glowing needle pointed directly at Saile’s chest.
Saile swallowed.
The metallic taste of blood was still fresh in his mouth.
The crushing pressure radiating from the Level 48 Executor made it difficult to breathe.
Every instinct in Saile’s Level 22 body screamed at him.
Run.
But where?
He was standing in a dead-end alley.
The brick walls behind him were far too high to climb quickly.
There was nowhere left to hide.
The Executor stopped.
His cold blue eyes slowly scanned the alley.
He saw the blood stains.
The broken silver armor.
The unconscious bodies of his elite Hounds.
Then his gaze finally landed on Saile.
But he did not look at the boy’s dirty clothes.
He did not look at his young face.
His eyes went straight to the weapon in Saile’s hands.
The rusted, pitch-black iron seemed to drink the moonlight.
A faint, dark menace radiated from its corroded surface.
The Executor’s eyes widened.
For the first time, his expression changed.
The arrogant boredom disappeared.
It was replaced by pure shock.
He slowly lowered the magical compass.
"That sword..."
His deep voice echoed through the narrow alley.
"I have seen the ancient drawings in the deepest vaults of the Holy Capital."
His eyes remained fixed on the Corroded Divine Blade.
"It cannot be."
Saile tightened his grip around the rusted hilt.
He slowly raised the heavy blade.
The jagged iron tip pointed directly at the Executor’s chest.
His legs were shaking.
But he forced them to remain still.
He refused to show fear.
The Executor’s expression hardened.
"You..."
His voice rose with burning fury.
"You carry the mark of the Fallen One."
He took another step forward.
"You are the demon that stains our world."
Saile stared directly into the man’s eyes.
"I am just a guy trying to survive."
"The Light does not negotiate with the dark."
The Executor’s voice became cold.
His hand moved toward his waist.
He drew a massive, double-edged greatsword.
The moment the weapon left its sheath, brilliant holy flames erupted across the blade.
The intense heat instantly pushed the freezing mist away.
The dark alley became a blazing furnace.
Saile raised the Corroded Divine Blade.
He knew he could not run anymore.
He knew he could not hide.
The man standing before him was Level 48.
He was a Gold-Rank Executor.
An S-Rank holy talent user.
And Saile was only Level 22.
But there was nowhere else to go.
Naicul’s voice whispered inside his mind.
"Now..."
The ancient God sounded almost excited.
"...let us see how strong this world’s so-called Light really is."
Saile tightened both hands around the rusted hilt.
The holy flames illuminated one side of his face.
The dark blade swallowed the light on the other.
He lowered his stance.
The Executor raised his flaming greatsword.
For a single moment, neither of them moved.
Then—
The true battle for Saile’s life finally began.
