Lydia watched the descending floor numbers for several seconds before speaking.
"Are we really returning to the Empyrean Dining Hall?"
Her fingers tightened around the strap of her bag. "Last time we were there..."
Phei understood.
The Empyrean Dining Hall still carried Marcus Heavenchild’s arrogance, the pressure of the Legacy families, and the memory of a morning that had twisted into humiliation and violence. Grandeur offered little comfort when trauma had already learned the architecture.
Phei gave Lydia a reassuring smile.
"Marcus will not trouble us today."
"He could still return."
"He was dragged out of the hotel by the collar and sent home last time on the day of the interview."
Maddie grinned. "A healing image."
Amber added, "It deserves a painting."
Lydia’s mouth twitched, though unease remained behind her eyes.
Phei softened his voice. "Marcus cannot be foolish enough to return immediately."
Every woman looked at him.
Phei sighed. "Fine. He can. His stupidity deserves ancestral recognition. Still, he will never reach you; nothing can touch you."
The promise settled through the elevator with greater strength than reassurance.
Lydia nodded.
The elevator descended through Infinity Chaos Hotel with barely a whisper. When the doors finally opened on the Empyrean level, morning brilliance poured inside and gilded every figure in soft gold.
The Empyrean Dining Hall stretched beyond them beneath a soaring ceiling carved with dragons, constellations, and ancient emblems of Paradise. Towering columns divided the enormous chamber into elegant territories, while high glass walls opened onto Hell’s River and the awakening island. Sunlight struck the crystal chandeliers and scattered across pale stone floors, turning breakfast into something perilously close to worship.
Only a few tables were occupied.
Their peace ended when Phei stepped out.
The white attire caught the golden light and returned it softened, leaving him almost luminous against the darker elevator interior. Melissa emerged beside him in champagne warmth, Delilah in grey and black, and by his other side was Maya, Sierra, Emily, Catrina, Valentina, Patricia, Maddie, Yuki, Amber, Victoria, Nastya, Lydia, Cassiopeia, and Roxanne.
Conversation lost its rhythm.
A spoon remained suspended halfway to an elderly man’s mouth.
Two young heirs at a distant table stopped speaking, a waiter carrying fresh juice slowed without realizing it, and the liquid within his silver pitcher tilted dangerously near the rim.
Several women seated across the hall followed Phei’s entrance with open fascination. Their gazes then travelled over the entourage surrounding him, and fascination soured into envy.
The sight possessed absurd impact.
Melissa walked at his side with her hand in his. Maya watched him with celestial softness, Delilah, Sierra carried relaxed familiarity. Emily and Lydia moved within his protection. Catrina’s gaze held sensual confidence. Valentina’s presence radiated disciplined strength, while Patricia brought mature authority and wealth polished into elegance.
Maddie, Yuki, and Amber carried confidence sharpened by their closeness to him. Victoria moved with cold Legacy beauty. Nastya Romano walked with the dangerous poise of a sharpshooter who had already chosen her target. Cassiopeia appeared carved from beautiful menace, and Roxanne completed the procession with regal maturity.
Their attention curved toward Phei with a unity no performance could imitate.
Whispers travelled through the hall.
Phei ignored them.
His eyes had already found the long table near the great windows.
Brian waved first; he sat with Rhea tucked close on one side and another companion on the other, while his third woman faced him across the table. He looked thoroughly settled, bright, and shameless, as though he had personally conquered breakfast and intended to demand tribute in syrup.
Landon sat farther down beside Cherry, her relaxed posture doing little to dull the sharp intelligence in her eyes.
David occupied another section with his own companion at his side. Their conversation stopped as Phei’s party approached.
Mother was there and Diana sat near her, attentive despite the serenity in her expression; Ashworth occupied a place farther along, carrying the measured composure of someone who already suspected peace had made a fatal error by attending.
Elena sat beside Ashford Madam; her presence, one woman, one impossible authority resting inside graceful flesh. Even dressed for breakfast, Ashford Madam carried divinity with such ease that the table appeared ceremonial around her. Her calm gaze found Phei immediately, and pleasure warmed the faint smile touching her lips.
Then Phei saw Dravenna and Sienna.
His expression softened at the sight of the latter.
’She’s fine... Sienna is fine, thanks gods.’
Dravenna sat with one arm resting lazily along the back of her chair, the picture of unhurried dominance. The grey athletic ensemble she wore should have been ordinary.
A fitted sports top clung to her chest like a second skin, the stretch fabric cupping the firm, shape of her breasts and ending just beneath her ribs. The smooth, toned plane of her stomach was completely bare, every soft line of muscle and the deep curve of her waist left open to the air. Her grey hoodie hung open around her shoulders, framing the exposed skin instead of hiding it.
Matching joggers sat low across her hips, the soft grey fabric clinging tightly to the perky, supple curves of her ass and shaping every firm, rounded line. The waistband dipped just far enough to reveal the sharp cut of her hipbones and the soft, tempting hollow that led downward, the material stretching over the full, springy weight of her cheeks with every small shift of her posture.
Dravenna looked devastating.
Her silver hair fell loosely around her face, a few strands brushing the side of her neck. Those jade eyes carried their usual amused superiority, half-lidded and knowing, as if she could already feel the effect she was having and found it entertaining.
The lazy athletic style did not soften her but sharpened her beauty into something sharper, more dangerous—power wrapped in casual fabric, unhurried and thoroughly aware of itself. Every small shift of her body made the sports top pull tighter across her chest and the bare skin of her midriff catch the light, turning simple athletic wear into a quiet, deliberate provocation.
Sienna sat beside her in an identical ensemble rendered in deathly green.
The dark green sports top framed her chest with precise, clinging tension, the stretch fabric moulding to the medium, firm shape of her breasts before ending high enough to leave the entire pale, toned plane of her stomach bare. The smooth firmness of her abdomen stood out sharply beneath the deep colour, every soft line of muscle and the narrow cut of her waist left open to the air.
Her open hoodie fell loosely from her shoulders, framing rather than hiding the clean, elegant line of her midriff, while matching trousers rested low across her hips, the fabric settling over the firm, supple curve of her ass and the long line of her thighs.
The outfit should have made her appear casual.
Her presence refused.
Sienna looked magnificent and otherworldly; out of the world.
The sovereign violet of her eyes had deepened overnight, glowing with completed divinity rather than borrowed power. Her pale skin carried a quiet, unearthly radiance that made the simple athletic clothes look almost indecent against her.
Her beauty had grown sharper, richer, and far more dangerous—the kind of beauty that made looking feel like a privilege.
The dark green fabric clung to a body newly strengthened by returning authority, every soft rise of her chest, every clean line of her waist, and every firm curve beneath the trousers carrying the quiet, devastating weight of a goddess who no longer needed to announce herself.
Dravenna embodied fierce life wrapped in grey while Sienna carried beautiful death clothed in green.
Seated together, they resembled twins born from opposing endings.
Phei’s gaze remained on Sienna.
Had she truly changed this much in a single night?
Sienna’s features seemed clearer, each delicate line refined by the ancient existence settling more firmly within her. The Nether Goddess no longer pressed against her body in chaotic fragments; Sienna’s body and soul were now more or less in sync.
Her aura had changed too.
Black-violet pressure rolled through the dining hall in quiet currents, brushing every awakened sense with cold authority.
The boys on the other hand concealed their discomfort poorly.
They possessed inherited wealth, powerful names of the families they came from, and enough arrogance to challenge most adults on the island, yet Dravenna’s presence still made them sit straighter and lower their voices. Her status as an Immediate Legacy failed to explain the ancient weight behind her jade eyes.
Even dressed in a sports top and open hoodie with her sculpted stomach exposed, the Dean remained capable of making the rich heirs remember every rule they had broken since childhood.
Sienna unsettled them more deeply.
Her aura pressed against the hall with the vastness of a grave-country awakening beyond mortal sight. The air around her tasted of unfinished souls, ancient death, black lakes, bone palaces, and a throne submerged beneath the memory of collapsed worlds.
Phei received no threat from it.
The darkness reached him and then softened:
It curled around his senses with intimate recognition, slipping over his skin and through the bridge joining their souls. The pressure forcing others to recoil wrapped around him in cold welcome. Kinship moved through it, together with sacred familiarity and possessive tenderness born inside a realm where warmth had learned to survive among the dead.
Sienna looked at him and the hall faded from his awareness.
