My Taboo Harem!

Chapter 1175: Greatest Miracle & The Little Thief

Sienna surprised him most:

She stepped onto the ice without complaint, dressed in dark clothes that made her pale beauty and sovereign violet eyes feel sharper beneath the bright rink lights. Delilah took one of her hands and drew her toward the others, and although Sienna’s expression suggested she had accepted participation under protest from forces beyond mortal law, she allowed herself to be led.

Her movements were stiff at first. She held her shoulders too carefully, watched everyone around her as though enjoyment might conceal an ambush and reacted to laughter with wary glances. Gradually, the tension loosened.

When Maddie attempted a dramatic stop near the edge and collided with the padded barrier hard enough to make half the rink applaud, a quiet laugh escaped Sienna before she could capture it.

The beach games carried them into evening. They played volleyball beneath the sinking sun, raced barefoot over pale sand and began a water fight that rapidly abandoned every respectable rule.

But Brian’s women, playing with Maddie who was on the academy’s Volleyball team had beat Jade, Sierra, Nastya, <anno data-annotation-id="1f6f27bf-b740-a90f-af24-ea3ce952ed75" data-title="Clara">Clara1</anno>

Phei accused all of them of cheating shortly before raising a moving wall of water with Void-Ice and burying the opposing team beneath it.

The resulting outrage was magnificent.

Nobody seemed capable of growing tired.

Phei’s group continued from one activity into the next with the inexhaustible energy of beautiful monsters who had finally been given a day free from politics, war and ancestral madness.

The sex had also been excellent, which Phei considered worth acknowledging with the solemn gratitude such blessings deserved.

Cassiopeia had claimed two hours in the bathroom and emerged walking as though her legs had entered a dispute with the rest of her body. Maddie collected the consolation prize Phei promised after Dravenna defeated her and demanded several creative additions once privacy encouraged ambition.

Sierra somehow squeezed more than three sessions into the gaps between activities, displaying scheduling skills that could have saved governments if she had chosen public service instead of repeatedly dragging Phei into changing rooms, private lounges and one conveniently empty equipment room.

Valentina provided the day’s greatest miracle when she finally agreed to a threesome.

Phei almost asked her to repeat herself, then wisely recognized that surprise could frighten courage back into hiding. Valentina had watched threesomes between Sierra and Maddie for a long time, curious yet guarded, intrigued by the softness they shared while keeping herself one careful step outside it.

She desired Phei freely, but allowing another woman into that private space required a different surrender.

Noor became the woman she chose after she and Soraya finally joined the group.

Phei never fully understood how the choice happened. Perhaps Noor’s gentleness made Valentina feel safe.

Whatever had brought them together, the result surpassed every hopeful thought Phei had entertained.

Noor entered the room nervous enough to apologize when her knee touched the bed. Valentina maintained her composure through the first kisses, though the calm facade began cracking when Phei’s hands settled around her waist and his mouth moved slowly over the tension gathered along her shoulders.

Noor watched until Valentina and Phei reached for her, and the tenderness of that invitation changed everything.

Once Noor gathered the courage, restraint became an abandoned garment somewhere near the edge of the bed.

Phei counted it as the greatest success of the day.

Soraya appeared to agree, judging by the questions she fired at Noor afterward while Noor hid her burning face against Phei’s chest and threatened to leave the island, the country and perhaps the mortal world if her friend refused to stop asking whether Valentina tasted as good as she looked.

Yet the pleasure, shopping and games never became his favorite part:

For several hours, his family, friends and women existed together without politics, real rivaly or family differences poisoning the air, without old grudges sharpening smiles and without destiny crouching beneath the table holding a knife.

They became ordinary in the most precious way available to extraordinary people. They laughed, competed, ate, flirted, cheated at games and enjoyed one another without needing to survive anything.

Phei watched them and felt happy.

That simple happiness carried more value than the wealth surrounding them, which made the timing of Eira’s next discovery almost insulting.

Somewhere between the beach and the resort, his Elemental Familiar finally located the missing book and identified the person who had taken it.

Apparently, a small heist had occurred inside his penthouse, and Phei had failed to notice because the place contained enough wealth to disguise theft as mild rearrangement.

The realization tasted humiliating in the uniquely privileged manner of discovering someone had stolen two hundred thousand dollars from your closet and your first reaction had been to assume the cash stacks were behind another coat.

Phei had noticed the book first and had once assumed one of his woman had it until Eira told him.

Rhythm of the Longing Distant Hearts.

It was one of the few physical pieces of his mother still within his reach, something her hands had touched and chosen for him before death turned her into memory.

The book carried a bridge across years he could never recover, joining the small boy who had received it to the man now searching for pieces of her in every secret the world reluctantly surrendered.

He would walk through hell for that book.

Although actually Hell had recently begun feeling less like a threat and more like a place he kept accidentally collecting property, so the promise carried practical confidence.

The little thief had taken far more than the book, the golden utensils vanished from the kitchen, though Phei originally assumed the Hayashi staff had forgotten to restore the set. Eira informed him that they were ceremonial dining pieces forged from imperial gold and worth a small fortune that’s why the thief had taken them.

Phei stared at her while she floated beside him over the beach path, licking a purple lollipop and looking deeply disappointed in his education: "They were forks."

Eira pulled the candy from her mouth and waved it toward him, her tiny brows tightening. "They were gold ceremonial dining pieces, probably from a vanished empire where nobles were executed for touching them without permission."

"They still carried food from the plate to the mouth."

"That description could reduce every treasure in history to household equipment and calling a sword is an angry knife."

Eira looked away, muttering something about dragons being culturally exhausting.

Anyway, the thief had taken his watches too; several of them had disappeared from the walk-in closet, and Phei barely understood their value because Melissa had purchased and out them in the Sovereign tower walk-in... but before they came here she had organized most of them into his suitcase before their move from Paradise.

According to Eira appraising each stolen watch could be worth two hundred and fifty thousand dollars, possibly more.

The most valuable among them was the Patek Melissa had gifted him on the third day after living with him after he beat Harold and took them from the Maxton mansion.

That one mattered.

Its price interested him far less than the memory attached to it.

Melissa had selected it for him. Her fingers had fastened it around his wrist; he remembered her smile, the warmth in her eyes and the quiet pride with which she watched him wear it.

Phei had learned quickly that affection transformed ordinary objects into emotional weapons. A watch could threaten the heart once love touched it, a bracelet became a proposal carried against the skin.

And his old book was like his dead mother’s hand reaching through time to caress her son’s cheek.

Eira found it weird when he said he felt like his mother was still with him when he held it.

Human beings had made sentimentality so powerful that thieves could steal pieces of a person’s soul without touching flesh.
