Chapter 443

Since Silver gave the order, the other Abberants quickly began backing away.

None of them wanted to cross her path.

So, one after another, they retreated toward their mothership.

Soon, more than a hundred Abberants stood beneath the massive structure.

Then—

A bright beam descended.

It swallowed them one after another, their towering bodies disappearing into the light before being sent back into the mothership.

Until finally...

Silver was left standing alone among the humans.

The sight of the Abberants retreating left the humans in disbelief.

Both those watching from home and those still on the battlefield struggled to understand what they were seeing.

But they understood one thing.

This was hierarchy.

If a member of the Big Four had arrived, weaker soldiers would have been ordered away from the battlefield so they wouldn’t accidentally interfere with the stronger warrior.

But that was a member of the Big Four.

Humanity didn’t know how the Abberants’ hierarchy worked.

They didn’t even know if Silver was the only Five-Spined Abberant in existence.

But now, they had reason to believe there could be more.

So why had she commanded the others to leave?

"Shocked?" Silver commented as she watched the last few Abberants disappear into the beam.

Ray took several steps backward.

His gaze wasn’t on Silver.

It was on Van, who was being carried away from the battlefield.

"...It isn’t you weaklings alone that has a respectable hierarchy."

Silver scratched her silver hair casually.

"Even we—Abberants have those we follow."

She lifted her head slightly.

"And as a member of the Big Five, they are bound to heed my orders, lest they perish."

[Shadowmornachx: Woah! Did she just say she’s a member of some Big Five? The fuck? Is that an equivalent to our Big Four?]

Silver snapped her claws together.

"Oh yeah."

Her expression suddenly brightened.

"Another member is currently with your Big Four leader as we speak."

She paused.

"A Six-Spined Abberant."

The words seemed to carry more weight than they should have.

"He’s battle-crazed, so your leader should be meeting his demise any moment from now."

"...."

The world fell silent.

For a second, nobody reacted.

Every single soul seemed to be processing what the Abberant had just said.

’A-A Six-Spined Abberant is with the head of the Kyre family alone?’

Lincoln’s eyes widened in horror.

’Dad?!’

Caster’s face tightened.

His wolf vanished from beneath him.

One by one, the remaining Abberants continued disappearing into the beam.

And Silver simply stood there.

Basking in the horror spreading across the faces of the puny humans before her.

Meanwhile—

Lightning began crawling up and down Ray’s arms.

The crackling energy flowed toward his daggers.

His grip tightened.

His grey eyes remained fixed on Silver.

....

In a highly secured city, a man sat watching Bonny’s livestream.

The moment the camera focused more closely on Ray, his gaze sharpened.

"That bastard."

His expression darkened.

"I still haven’t forgotten you for almost foiling my plans, little one."

Across from him, a woman sitting on a couch crossed her legs while casually swirling a glass of wine in her hand.

"Hm. Let’s see if he survives what happens next."

"Don’t be a fool, Elsa. He will definitely not survive a confrontation with a Five-Spined Abberant."

Elsa glanced toward Bryce.

"Oh dear, Bryce."

She took another sip of her wine.

"You’re the one being a fool."

Her lips curled into a faint smile.

"Because if the Vanguard Order is around, he will definitely survive."

She paused.

"And if they’re not..."

Her smile widened.

"The Abberants will have our thanks for taking out our enemy."

She raised the glass to her lips again.

"So let’s watch."

...

"I don’t care."

That was the only thing Ray whispered.

Then—

He moved.

Blisteringly fast.

"Oh!"

Silver leaned forward slightly, a small smile appearing on her face.

"...You will."

BOOOM!

The ground exploded beneath her feet as she shot forward.

Within a blink, she was directly before Ray.

’Fuck. So fast.’

Her talon-like claw descended toward the boy with vicious speed.

The lightning surrounding Ray’s hands was the only reason he managed to bring his daggers in front of his face in time.

Though—

WAM!

The earth shattered beneath their feet.

The force of Silver’s strike pressed down on Ray with bone-crushing strength.

His knees began bending beneath the strain as he struggled to hold her back.

Whoooosh!

Two arrows suddenly cut through the air, racing toward Silver’s back.

She sensed them.

At that exact moment, Ray released his daggers.

The weapons crackled and disappeared from view.

Silver almost stumbled forward from the sudden loss of resistance.

Ray’s hand shot backward.

His teeth gnashed tightly.

Then—

BANG!

He hurled his fist forward like a bullet.

The air seemed to scream as the force of his punch tore through it.

Silver reacted swiftly.

Her hands crossed in front of her face.

BAM! BOOOM—!

The punch connected with the force of a train.

The earth split apart beneath Silver’s feet as her body was pushed backward several inches.

The two arrows struck her back.

But they found nowhere to penetrate.

They simply slid helplessly off her smooth silver armour.

[Daigeto: That kid packs a punch.]

Silver slowly pushed her hands outward.

Then—

She lunged forward like a missile.

Ray’s eyes widened.

Her knee rocketed toward his face with tremendous speed.

[Thunder Step Activated]

BANG!

Ray vanished.

Six metres of distance disappeared within the blink of an eye.

Silver’s knee smashed into empty air.

The atmosphere seemed to cave in beneath the sheer force of the strike.

[Arc of Judgement]

A sword-like beam tore forward with blistering speed, crossing the six metres between them almost instantly.

Silver swung her claw.

CLANG!

The beam was batted upward.

It collided with a section of her mothership, exploding against the structure.

Silver was about to take a step forward when—

The earth rumbled.

Her eyes narrowed.

She immediately vaulted upward.

BOOM!

An earth spike erupted from the spot where she had stood only a moment ago.

But that wasn’t all.

An enormous earth boulder was hurled toward her from above.

Silver simply blinked out of its path.

She landed atop a nearby building.

BOOOM!

The boulder crashed into the earth below with immense force.

"Surprise, motherfucker!"

A beautifully handsome voice slithered into her ears from behind.

Silver spun around.

A crystal pillar was already hurtling toward her.

Without even a hint of concern, Silver swung her leg downward.

BAM!

Her leg smashed into the pillar.

The hardened crystal shattered into a dozen pieces.

And from within those fragments—

A girl with a katana emerged.

Her weapon was already swinging toward Silver’s side.
