Chapter 445

The Kyre family were a different breed of monsters compared to normal Meta-Humans.

Where others could shoot flames, send ice flying, possess superhuman strength, and wield countless other abilities, the Kyre family did not possess such powers.

They were different.

Instead of awakening traditional abilities, they possessed the ability to tame beasts.

The Kyre family was a family of beast tamers.

Unlike the other factions and families that had thousands of members under their command, the Kyre family had a relatively small but incredibly powerful group, numbering only in the hundreds.

But not everyone could become a beast tamer.

To be accepted into the Kyre family, one needed to possess enough strength to prove their worth.

That didn’t mean only beast tamers were accepted, though.

That would be stupid.

Any family or faction that relied entirely on one specific ability would eventually die out.

Those without the family’s main ability were simply given other duties within the family.

But the Kyre family was special.

They weren’t like ordinary beast tamers.

Yes, they could tame beasts and place them under their command.

But that wasn’t where their true uniqueness lay.

They were also capable of inheriting a single ability from their tamed beasts.

That was right.

If their tamed beast possessed a fire ability, the tamer could also use a fire ability.

However, the power of that inherited ability was limited by the strength of the beast itself.

For example, if the beast could only shoot fireballs, then that was all the tamer could do.

Nothing more.

Nothing less.

If a beast possessed multiple abilities or traits, such as super speed and an ice ability, the tamer could only inherit a single trait or skill, which would be given to them at random.

And if their beast died, the ability they had inherited from it would disappear along with it.

They would then have to tame another beast and awaken a new trait.

But unlike ordinary beast tamers, Jack Kyre was different.

Far more powerful.

He had somehow gained more than two traits from his tamed beast.

And who—or what—was his beast?

"..."

"Come forth; Kaiser."

ROARRRRRRR!

An ear-piercing roar split the air.

Something began emerging above Jack’s head.

A frown crossed the Abberant’s face.

’Fuck.’

A creature could be seen emerging above Jack.

It hovered several metres in the air, bursting outward as though an insect were breaking free from an enormous egg.

The air trembled with every movement of the unknown creature as it continued forcing its way into existence.

"Ah..."

Jack groaned as he pulled one of his hands free from the wall.

And with that—

WHOOSH!

A massive wing burst into view, sending a violent blast of wind outward that smashed nearby windows to pieces.

Jack pulled his second hand free from the wall.

A second wing emerged above him.

He then pulled his head out of the wall.

A massive blue head materialized into view.

Finally, Jack pulled his battered body completely free from the wall and landed on one knee.

The beast descended from the heavens with an earth-shaking roar.

It was a colossal wyvern.

Its entire body was cloaked in brilliant sapphire-blue scales that shimmered beneath the light like countless polished gemstones.

Each scale overlapped seamlessly with the next, forming a natural armor that appeared as resilient as forged steel while retaining the flexibility needed for swift, graceful flight.

Its long, serpentine neck supported a fierce reptilian head crowned with a pair of backward-curving ivory horns.

Jagged ridges ran from the top of its skull all the way down its spine, each one lined with smaller azure spikes that glowed faintly with an inner light.

Its piercing golden eyes burned with the authority of an apex predator.

Their slit pupils scanned the battlefield with frightening intelligence, taking in everything around them with a cold, predatory awareness.

Beneath its elongated snout rested rows of dagger-like fangs, each one capable of effortlessly crushing bone and tearing through solid armor.

The wyvern’s enormous wings stretched well over forty metres from tip to tip.

Their powerful frames were covered in the same sapphire scales near the shoulders before transitioning into deep cobalt membranes veined with glowing blue patterns.

Every beat of those colossal wings generated violent gusts capable of uprooting trees and hurling boulders across the battlefield.

Its muscular hind legs ended in massive talons as black as obsidian, each curved claw sharp enough to gouge deep trenches into solid rock.

A long, whip-like tail trailed behind it, lined with razor-edged blue spines that culminated in a wicked, spear-shaped tip, transforming the appendage into a deadly weapon in its own right.

Though breathtaking in appearance, there was nothing beautiful about the aura it radiated.

It was the unmistakable presence of a supreme predator.

A creature born to dominate the skies.

A creature before whom even lesser dragons would think twice before challenging.

Jack smiled deeply as he stood to his full height.

Blood was still dripping from the corner of his mouth as he stared at Orvak, who remained silently in awe of the man’s tamed beast.

’A Wyvern?

’That beast is as rare as it could be. How did he get one?

’Such a beast could be considered almost mythical. Their true strength is somewhat unknown.

’This... this is too much. How did a human like him acquire such a beast?’

"Surprised?"

Jack chuckled aloud.

He pointed toward the sky.

Kaiser immediately shifted to the side, allowing the full sunlight to cascade down onto Jack.

And right there and then—

The moment the rays of sunlight touched his body, something changed.

His wounds began closing.

His flesh began knitting itself back together.

His battered body began healing at a pace that far surpassed the speed of lightning.

Jack’s smile widened as he basked in the rays of the sun.

"My partner is such an awesome creature, isn’t it?"

He peeled one eye open.

"Having the incredibly rare ’Sun’ ability."

"...Yes. There’s a ’Sun’ ability, and my beast can use it far better than what I’ve been displaying for a while now."

Jack’s grin widened.

"And will you look at that? It can allow me to heal too! Haha!"

Orvak’s claws tightened.

His gaze flickered between the Wyvern and Jack for several seconds.

"Do you think this could scare me?"

A slow smirk formed across his face.

"...Instead, it’s making my blood pump even more."

His eyes gleamed.

"And I’m eager for a fight."

"....."

Jack dropped his hands to his sides.

He stretched one arm outward.

Immediately, his axe flew toward him.

**WHOOSH!**

His fingers closed around the handle.

**CLANK!**

Jack cracked his neck from side to side.

"You should be scared."

He tightened his grip around the axe.

"And you will be scared."

His eyes hardened.

"Even the others are afraid of what I can do with my beast, and they’re always careful about stepping on my toes."

Jack paused for a moment.

Then he added,

"...Of course, they don’t even have to be because I’m not as hotheaded as the head of the Immortal Flame Family."

His expression twisted slightly.

"That scheming brute."

Jack pointed his weapon forward.

Above him, Kaiser’s massive head slowly lowered.

Its jaws began opening.

Wider.

Wider.

And wider.

Deep within the darkness of its throat, a tiny white glow appeared.

It began growing brighter.

Brighter.

And brighter.

The surrounding air began trembling beneath the gathering energy.

Orvak’s grin remained firmly in place.

Jack’s eyes narrowed.

"Get ready to scream."

BANG!

BOOOM!
