My Tribrid System: More than a Monster
Chapter 450: Crazy Coordination (2)Chapter 448
"Is that all?"
Silver’s head peeked out from the side after Lincoln’s strike was halted.
She glanced toward Ray with a raised brow.
"Are you done yet?"
The Tribrid didn’t immediately reply.
Instead, he glanced back at his system screen.
He was terribly low on Meta-Force.
He had been fighting for a while now, using his abilities from the very beginning of the invasion until this moment.
[MF: 50/500]
[Energy: 200/250]
Luckily, he still had some Energy left.
Maybe enough for a transformation.
Ray lifted his gaze toward the drones hovering around the battlefield.
He knew exactly what that meant.
If he transformed into his monstrous form right here and now, it wouldn’t just be the Aspirants watching.
The whole of humanity was watching.
He would be revealing the secret he had spent an entire year hiding from them.
The risk was—
"I guess it’s my turn," Silver uttered calmly.
Ray had barely snapped out of his thoughts when the Abberant appeared before him in a blur.
Her claws slashed toward his exposed body, ready to tear him open and see what the boy was made of.
Ray reacted instantly.
He jumped backward, relying on his quick reflexes and agility.
The claws tore harmlessly through the air.
Caster stood atop a building, watching the fight below.
He was helpless to do anything.
He was out of Meta-Force.
The same went for Berg.
The proud scion of the Immortal Flame Family was still out of breath after barely surviving his encounter with an Abberant that had almost crushed him beneath its foot.
He, too, was out of Meta-Force.
In fact, almost the entire Aspirant Corps had run out of energy.
They had no choice but to become spectators, watching as the Sergeant and Ray’s cohort fought with every last ounce of strength they had left.
Ray could be heard growling softly in fury as Van’s battered face flashed through his mind again and again.
’How many Energy points do I need for a full transformation?’
{Two hundred is enough.}
Ray didn’t ask anything else.
Silver had already blurred forward, crossing several metres in the blink of an eye.
Her tail lashed toward the boy from multiple directions.
Ray didn’t hold back.
His daggers flashed into his grasp as his hands blurred into motion.
CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!
He parried the incoming tail strikes as best as he could, the metallic impacts ringing across the battlefield.
The two of them entered a speed that even the drones struggled to capture.
Forget the drones.
Even Ray’s friends—and the Sergeant most of all—could no longer follow their movements with their eyes.
They didn’t remain in one place.
Lightning exploded across Ray’s body as he dashed around Silver, weaving between her vicious tail strikes and parrying the attacks he couldn’t avoid.
He moved as fast as his body allowed.
’Do it.’
[ +5 Stat to AGI. ]
[ +5 Stat to END. ]
Ray felt a surge of energy flood through his body.
Even a single stat point made a noticeable difference.
With an additional five points to his stats, Ray exploded across the battlefield at even greater speed.
But even then, he was barely surviving against Silver’s tail.
It didn’t take a genius to realize that the Abberant was simply toying with him.
She wasn’t even taking him seriously.
Meanwhile, Ray was throwing almost everything he had into surviving.
He ducked as a tail sliced past his head.
His toes dug into the ground.
Then—
He darted forward like an arrow.
Ray closed the distance between himself and Silver.
His daggers slashed toward her abdomen with tremendous speed.
The Abberant simply jumped backward, narrowly avoiding the blades.
Ray didn’t stop the attack.
He committed to the swing and then—
BANG!
A slash of lightning surged from his daggers.
It tore through the air with tremendous speed.
Silver hadn’t anticipated the attack.
She didn’t have enough time to react.
The lightning slash slammed into her chest, tearing several silver scales from her armour before blasting her backward like a ragdoll.
[Thunder Step Activated]
BANG!
Ray moved with blistering speed, instantly crossing the distance between himself and the retreating Abberant.
Even while being blasted backward, Silver reacted to the threat approaching her.
Her tail blurred forward.
Ray tilted his head to the side, feeling the attack slash through the air behind him.
His crimson dagger flashed toward her face.
Silver ducked beneath the attack.
Digging her tail into the earth to anchor herself, she shifted her entire weight into one arm.
The limb blurred forward.
BAM!
Contrary to what Silver expected, the Tribrid was grinning.
A translucent spherical barrier surrounded him from every direction.
[Halo of Protection]
The smile on Ray’s face immediately faded.
His Energy counter was draining rapidly.
Cracks spread across the surface of the barrier as the force of Silver’s punch continued pressing against it.
[Viewer 124: I will be damned. Kid is just spawning different skills. The fuck is that? Is that part of his lightning ability?]
The force of Silver’s punch had slowed the two combatants just enough for the viewers to finally see what was happening.
[Bonny’s Lover: And am I dreaming, or is he going toe-to-toe with a Five-Spined Abberant? What am I even looking at? Because I’m sure I’m not drunk. Hell, I don’t even drink.]
[Proud Hater: Something is definitely up with that kid. I can feel it.]
[Jimmy_Parker: If only you could feel your brain the same way. Oh wait! You don’t even have a brain to feel.]
Crack!
Crack!
SHATTER!
The barrier could no longer withstand the force of the punch.
It shattered.
Luckily for Ray, it had managed to reduce the impact considerably before giving way.
Even so, Silver’s fist still smashed into him.
The Tribrid’s body shot backward like a meteor.
BANG!
He smashed through a three-storey building.
Glass windows shattered into countless shards as Ray tumbled through the structure like a ragdoll.
Trisha gritted her teeth.
Then she kicked off the ground, her VMS boots releasing gas as she sped toward the Abberant.
