My Tribrid System: More than a Monster

Chapter 452: Unveiling more Strength!

Chapter 450

BOOOM—!

An explosion thundered across the area where Silver had been kneeling.

Small stores in the vicinity crumbled as though a grenade had been tossed among them, sending shards of glass flying through the air.

A plume of dust rose into the sky like smoke, quickly obscuring everything within the blast radius.

The Aspirants drew in ragged breaths as every gaze turned toward the spot where Chloe’s arrow had struck.

Van collapsed to his knees almost instantly.

The hands of his mech suit separated from his body, collapsing into hundreds of tiny mechanical spiders that scurried back into the arc embedded in his chest.

That last shot had been a desperate one.

His King-ranked core dimmed, its light fading until it became completely lifeless before sliding out of him and rolling across the ground.

He was out of energy.

His chest burned painfully from forcing himself to use his ability at the last second.

He had seen an opening and decided to take it.

Trisha could also be seen panting heavily.

She had been out of meta-force for a long time and was barely holding on through her swordsmanship alone.

Kai still hadn’t joined the battle.

He remained at the back with Van, ready to support him if necessary.

The entire battlefield was exhausted.

They were desperately hoping that everything they had just thrown at Silver had at least been enough to injure her.

Oh...

If that attack had actually damaged her, then they were definitely cooked.

Burnt beyond recognition.

Because if they had managed to hurt her, there was a good chance they had only made her stronger.

[Unknown Viewer: Did-Did they do it?]

Throughout the entire livestream, aside from the moment Silver had first appeared, Bonny hadn’t been able to say a word.

She had been so enthralled by the battle that she could barely form a coherent sentence.

So, instead of constantly yapping, she decided to let the viewers watch and judge the situation for themselves.

Johnny, meanwhile, was doing an excellent job with his camera, making sure he captured every possible angle so the viewers wouldn’t miss a single thing.

Back in the control room, Mina sat on the edge of her seat.

Unfortunately, the drones in the shelter hadn’t been destroyed for some reason, so she still had no idea what the outcome of Jack and Orvak’s battle was.

She had also long stopped watching Captain Jake’s fight because the battle between the Aspirants and Silver had become far too intense.

Whenever she was called upon, she responded.

Most of the time, however, the others around her were the ones handling the communication.

And now, everyone held their breath—

ROARRRRRR!

A powerful roar tore out of Silver’s throat.

The sheer force of it was so overwhelming that even the cloud of dust seemed to scatter out of fright.

The roar was so loud and fierce that everyone was forced to cover their ears in pain and take several steps backward, despite being nowhere near her.

The dust finally settled.

Silver could be seen kneeling in the middle of the destruction.

Blue blood streamed down her silver chitin.

She remained on her knees, staring at the ground with a blank expression after releasing that roar of pain.

"Ba... thump..."

Everyone’s heart seemed to leap in fear at the exact same time.

Then—

Silver slowly rose to her feet.

She appeared to be perfectly fine despite taking Van’s beam head-on.

Then, she did something that left everyone confused.

She raised her claws toward her luscious silver hair.

Starting from her scalp, she slowly dragged her claws downward through the long strands, combing her hair with her fingers.

The others watched in silence.

Nobody understood what she was doing.

Silver continued combing her hair for a few seconds before finally speaking.

"I almost forgot why I was here."

Her golden eyes shifted toward the drones before moving toward the humans surrounding her.

"I was sent here to test humanity’s strength, which I have done."

She slowly lowered her hand.

"And also to eliminate all my foes..."

A faint, unsettling smile crept across her metallic lips.

"...which I’m about to do."

Crackle! Crackle!

Trisha’s and basically everybody’s eyes stretched wide at what they were seeing.

With each comb, Silver’s silver hair was beginning to crackle with golden sparks that looked akin to lightning.

At first, the sparks were little more than faint flashes dancing between the strands.

Then—

Crackle!

Another spark jumped.

And another.

Each strike caused the crackle to grow deeper and louder and louder, until sparks could be seen shining off her silver hair.

The golden light reflected across her metallic face, illuminating those cold, emotionless features with an eerie glow.

Nobody moved.

Nobody even dared to breathe too loudly.

They simply watched.

Within a moment, her hair elongated to the extent that it was touching the back of her heels and still running up and down with lightning for a second.

The strands swayed behind her despite there being no wind.

Golden electricity crawled through every strand like living veins.

Trisha tightened her grip around her katana.

A terrible feeling settled deep within her chest.

Something had changed.

Silver slowly lifted her head.

Her golden eyes swept across the battlefield.

"Now, you can all die."

"MOVE!" Lincoln sounded the warning as earth began shooting into the air to form a dome around both him and those who were around him.

The ground rumbled violently beneath their feet.

Chunks of earth ripped themselves from the battlefield and rushed upward, twisting together as Lincoln forced them into position.

But Silver had already moved.

With a swing of her head, Silver’s hair lashed through the air.

The golden sparks running through the strands suddenly gathered toward their tips.

And then—

SHHHHHK!

Surging out of her hair was a huge crescent lightning slash which rippled out and consumed half of the area they stood in.

BOOOOM!

Explosions tore forward as chaos ensued.

The crescent slash tore through the battlefield with terrifying speed.

Buildings shook.

Windows exploded.

The ground beneath it cracked apart as the lightning carved its path through everything in its way.

Trisha, Felix, and Caster dove in with Lincoln under the dome.

"Get down!"

Lincoln’s voice was almost drowned out by the deafening roar of the attack.

Kai slammed his hands into the ground.

A crystal dome rose into the air and curved down over both him and Van.

The crystalline structure formed just as the lightning slash reached them.

Chloe leaped off the building she was in and dove into its chimney, sliding down into the structure like Santa on Christmas.

Berg, who was on the ground, dove through a window and vanished into a building.

"Shoot! Pilot!" Bonny shouted.

The pilot of the helicopter quickly steered away in the nick of time as the slash tore past the whole place.

The helicopter violently tilted to one side as the pilot struggled to keep control.

The crescent of lightning passed beneath it by mere metres.

It smashed into Lincoln’s dome, causing it to tremble massively, with cracks falling off it.

BOOM!

The entire dome shook.

Lincoln gritted his teeth as he poured more earth into the barrier.

"Hold!"

The slash continued chewing through the defensive structure.

It struck Kai’s dome and instantly shattered it due to the Legacy running out of meta-force to begin with.

CRACK!

The crystal dome exploded into countless shards.

Kai’s eyes widened.

"Shit!"

He immediately threw himself over Van.

Some Aspirants dove into cover while those who were slow enough were instantly cleaved in half.

Any standing structure was also cleaved in half.

Buildings that had survived the earlier battle were sliced through as though they were nothing more than paper.

The artillery vehicles in the distance couldn’t drive away in time.

The lightning slash tore through them.

Metal screamed.

The vehicles were torn open, with the heads of the pilots rolling off their shoulders.

A massive trench that stretched ten metres ahead tore open immediately.

The earth continued trembling long after the attack had passed.

The air jittered as visible waves passed through the atmosphere.

Two of Johnny’s drones exploded.

More than half of Mina’s drones also crumbled to the ground.

One after another, their camera feeds disappeared.

Clouds of dust were kicked into the air.

Bodies dropped from buildings like flies.

Structures came crumbling down, with barely any buildings left in sight.

The battlefield had been transformed in an instant.

What had once been a chaotic battlefield was now a wasteland of broken buildings, shattered roads, burning vehicles, and scattered bodies.

Silver stood in the middle of it all.

Her long silver hair continued crackling with golden lightning.

She looked almost untouched.

"You too," Silver whispered before flickering out of view.

Within a flash, she was before Van, who was coughing along with a weakened Kai.

Kai struggled to raise his head.

His body was already exhausted.

Van could barely move.

Silver’s hair sliced through the dust covering the duo, ready to tear the boy in two.

The golden sparks illuminating the strands made the incoming attack look like a blade of lightning.

Van’s eyes widened.

"Kai..."

BANG! BOOOM—!

A building in the distance was blasted backward, shifting a few inches away from its position as a crackling figure tore forward and materialized before the hair.

Without any hesitation, his hands reached out to grab the hair—

Stopping it right in its deadly tracks.

CLANG!

A resounding bang echoed through the air.

The force of the collision sent dust spiraling outward.

Silver’s hair continued crackling violently against his palms.

The strands dug into his skin.

Blood began trickling down his hands.

Yet the figure didn’t release them.

Slowly, he raised his head.

A deep growl escaped Ray’s throat as something primal awakened within him.

His muscles tightened beneath his skin, becoming leaner yet noticeably denser as he held on tight to the hair that was burning through his palms.

His shoulders broadened slightly.

The muscles beneath his clothes shifted as his body adapted to the power flowing through him.

Brown fur with streaks of silver spread from the backs of his hands to just below his elbows, stopping there as if an invisible line had been drawn.

The fur bristled from the sheer amount of energy coursing through his body.

His fingers lengthened slightly before ending in curved obsidian claws capable of tearing through steel.

The claws dug into Silver’s hair.

Veins pulsed faintly beneath his forearms, carrying an immense strength that made every movement feel explosive.

His canines sharpened into predatory fangs.

His jaw tightened.

The grey in his eyes bled away, replaced by a piercing yellow while his pupils narrowed into the vertical slits of a hunting wolf.

His ears became unnaturally sensitive, twitching ever so slightly as they picked up distant sounds.

Every scent around him flooded his senses at once.

Dust.

Blood.

Burning metal.

The scent of his friends.

And the distinct scent of the Abberant standing before him.

When exhaling...

A faint white mist escaped his lips.

Ray slowly tightened his grip.

The hair in his hands creaked beneath the pressure.

He hadn’t become a werewolf.

He merely looked like a human who had borrowed the wrath of one.

[Partial Werewolf Transformation Completed.]

BOOOM!

Ray’s furry fist shot forward like a cannon and hammered into Silver’s face with the force of a freight train.

The impact created a shockwave that blew away the dust surrounding them.

Silver’s head snapped violently to the side.

Her entire body was sent blasting backward like a ragdoll.

She smashed through the remains of a building before disappearing behind another cloud of dust.

Silence briefly descended over the battlefield.

Ray slowly lowered his fist.

His claws flexed.

Yellow eyes stared through the dust.

Then—

Ray slowly began rising to his full height.
