Whoooosh!
Silver twirled around and swung her claws through the air, snatching a metal spear before whirling around and hurling it forward.
Tchaaaaak!
The metal spear ripped through the throat of an Aspirant before smashing into the abdomen of another.
Blood sprayed through the air as both bodies were sent tumbling from the building.

[Daigeto: This is bad. Real bad. How are we supposed to survive these monsters?]
[Fenrir-StormSpear: Innocent kids keep losing their lives. What the hell is this shit world we live in? Where are the damned Vanguard Order?]
[Concerned human: How have we come to this? A bunch of kids going from level one to boss mode in the blink of an eye. This is bad for their mental health.]

The battlefield froze for a second.
Not because Silver had stopped moving.
Not because Ray and the others had stopped attacking.
But because everyone had just witnessed two more Aspirants lose their lives.
The two Aspirants dropped from the building they were perched on.
Their bodies fell from such a height and crashed into the ground with their arms twisted and broken from the fall.
THUD!
THUD!
The sound seemed unnaturally loud amidst the chaos.
Ray stared with a blank look for a split second.
His eyes lingered on the bodies.
For that brief moment, everything seemed to slow down.
Another person had died.
Another human life had been snuffed out right in front of him.
But Ray quickly screwed his head back on straight.
There was no time.
This was a battlefield.
And hesitation meant death.
Unhesitatingly, he bolted forward again.
"Don’t remain frozen, fools! This is a battlefield, so of course people will die. What the hell are you gawking at? Fucking finish her, you dumbasses!" Ray hollered loudly as he emerged before Silver, with his claws coated in lightning rushing towards her face.
The lightning around his claws crackled violently.
Silver’s eyes narrowed.
Hurriedly bringing her arms in front of her face, the claws slammed into her guard.
CLANG!
The collision sent sparks flying.
The lightning around Ray’s claws crackled and grew more intense.
Silver’s arms trembled slightly under the pressure.
She attempted to push him back.
Only for the electricity to suddenly flare brighter.
And then—
CRACK!
To everybody’s, and most especially Silver’s, shock, the claws burned so brightly that they were able to rip through her arms, sending blue blood spraying into the air.
SHKRRRT!
Silver staggered backward in disbelief for a moment as a deep gash marred her previously pristine silver arms.
She stared at the wound.
Blue blood dripped down her silver chitin.
For the first time, the expression on her face wasn’t one of amusement.
She could be hurt.
And Ray had just proven it.
Pfffff!
"Oh! You can even be hurt? Good to know."
Trisha’s cold voice appeared directly behind her as her katana slashed forward.
Silver’s eyes widened.
She attempted to spin around when—
Whoooosh!
An arrow whistled forward and smashed into her face.
BAM!
The arrow weighed quite a ton, and the impact sent her sliding backward for a second.
That tiny opening was all Trisha needed.
The katana bit deep into the back of Silver’s neck.
SHKRRRT!
With a drag downward, Trisha tore the blade through her silver scales.
Blue blood trickled down the blade.
Silver’s face twitched.
Her elbow immediately rushed backward towards the girl’s face.
But Trish vaulted high into the air with the use of her boots.
The elbow tore through empty air.
Trisha didn’t stop.
Cutting through the air again, she appeared from the side with a slash towards the Abberant’s neck.
Silver reacted instantly.
Taking a step backward, she appeared a few metres away.
Her feet scraped against the ground as she regained her balance.
She lifted one hand towards her silver hair.
Combing her hair once, an electrical surge crackled across the now-straightened silver hair.
KRRRZZZT!
Golden sparks danced between the strands.
She was about swinging it through the air when—
Ray lunged forward and emerged in front of her.
Silver’s gaze snapped towards him.
A sword-like beam appeared in his grasp.
He hurled it towards the Abberant.
The attack was too close.
And because Silver was in the middle of her own attack, she couldn’t properly evade it.
The sword-like beam hammered into the side of her abdomen.
BOOM!
Silver’s body jerked from the impact.
For a second, the world paused.
Then—
[Holy Blast Orb]
Ray slammed his palm into her face.
BOOOOOOM!
A swirling orb of light erupted from his palm and blasted Silver backward.
The force of the explosion sent her body flying through the air as specks of blue blood splattered through the air.
"FIRE!" Lincoln howled through the air, watching Silver’s body cutting backward.
The command echoed across the battlefield.
An artillery vehicle was still remaining, and soon, a bombardment of energy shells was seen speeding towards the Abberant, who was still blinking in confusion.
The shells tore through the air one after another, leaving trails of energy behind them.
’How is a kid like this putting me on edge? Have I lost my touch, or am I still holding back?’
For the first time since the battle began, Silver found herself genuinely questioning the situation.
[Goon lord: This kid is something else. I don’t know why, but no normal kid should be able to do all what he is doing. Who is he?]
With a blink of her eyes, Silver refocused back to reality, only to hear the energy shells rushing towards her with terrifying screams through the air.
Her expression immediately darkened.
"FUCK THIS! I WILL KILL YOU ALL!"
Her hands tightened into fists before she swung her hair wildly, sending a surge of electrical energy crackling across her whole scalp.
KRRRZZZT!
Golden sparks erupted from between the silver strands.
Then, from the hair exploded a sundering surge of energy, violent and unrelenting, filling every path the shells could have possibly taken to hit her.
The electrical surge spread outward like a monstrous wave.
It was as if the very air was swallowed by the strike, leaving no room to escape as the shells exploded violently while the residual electrical energy razed a structure to the ground.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The artillery bombardment was completely swallowed.
Debris and sparks rained down across the battlefield.
Silver landed with the feline grace of a cat.
Her feet touched the ground without making a sound.
Her eyes flickered from one place to another as she searched through the destruction.
She couldn’t spot the one she was after.
"Over here, my beautiful lady."
Ray’s voice was heard from behind her.
Silver’s head snapped around.
Spinning around with her claws towards the boy, she found that her claws sliced through empty air.
’Huh?’
There was nothing there.
No body.
No movement.
Nothing.
"Over here, my lady."
Snapping her head upward, the boy wasn’t there.
Silver’s eyes narrowed.
Even the others who were on the field were turning and twisting, searching for the boy, but for some reason, he was nowhere to be seen.
If he was moving with lightning speed, Silver should have been able to sense him.
She could track movement.
She could hear footsteps.
She could smell living beings.
She could even feel changes in the air around her.
But for some reason, it was as if his signature, smell, sight, and footsteps were erased from existence.
As if he didn’t even exist to begin with.
Yet, whenever he spoke—
Silver would feel him immediately.
[Stealth Activated]
The battlefield fell into an eerie silence.
Then—
CLANG!
Before everybody’s eyes and ears, a loud clanging sound could be heard as if a weapon struck Silver’s body.
The Abberant’s eyes widened.
She was moving like a mad creature.
Her hands swung wildly through the air while the strikes persisted.
CLANG!
Tchaaaaak!
Something tore through her side, with blood rushing down her silver chitin.
"Show yourself!"
A slash appeared on her face.
Then another across her thigh.
Tchaaaaak!
Again.
And again.
Ray was moving with immense speed under the cover of [Stealth].
His twin daggers pierced through her body, targeting the areas where his claws had already weakened her armor, allowing him to cause her even more damage.
Silver roared in frustration as she swung her claws in every direction.
But there was nothing to hit.
She couldn’t see him.
She couldn’t hear him.
She could only feel the sharp pain every time his daggers found another opening.

Ray ignored the warning.
His body continued moving.
He couldn’t stop.
Not now.
Silver furiously lifted her hand towards her hair.
She grabbed a handful of her silver strands and combed through them.
KRRRZZZT!
Electricity crackled violently through her hair.
"If you won’t show yourself, I will force you out."
BOOOM!
A surge of energy burst forward.
Its target?
Van.
Ray’s eyes stretched wide for a second.
Everything stopped.
His attacks.
His movements.
His thoughts.
Only one thing remained in his mind.
Van.
Without thinking twice, he abandoned his movements and darted towards his friend, who was on his knees, watching as the energy rapidly approached.
The attack was already too close.
Van’s eyes widened.
He didn’t even have the strength to move.
Then—
Right in front of Van, it seemed as if the air was parting to reveal Ray’s figure limb by limb.
First, his hand.
Then his arm.
Then his shoulder.
Then the rest of his body.
Lightning exploded across his frame.
His fur was visible beneath the violent electricity.
His claws dug into the ground.
Swinging his claws out with a loud howl, Ray unleashed everything he had.
"RAAAAAH!"
A surge of lightning burst outwardly.
KRRRZZZZT!
Within a blink, it collided with Silver’s attack in a terrible explosion that crackled through the air.
BOOOOOOM!
A shockwave so intense burst outward.
