My Undead Legion Kills God's

Chapter 121: How Many Fingers?

The giant siege weapon tunneled through the snow, crushing hundreds of screaming Eidolons beneath its enormous weight. Their bodies were thrown aside or disappeared beneath the ancient metal structure as it continued forward without slowing down.

The sight was terrifying.

Camila didn’t have time to reason too deeply about it. She immediately opened the barricade and ran out, ignoring the Eidolons surrounding her. Even they seemed too preoccupied with the approaching weapon, their bodies trembling as they watched the enormous structure tear through the battlefield.

Camila raised both hands.

Her feet sank deeper into the snow as she braced herself, and the moment the weapon came within range, her ability activated.

Camila’s expression immediately tightened.

The weapon was far too heavy.

She could manipulate metal, but moving something of this size was completely different from controlling a sword or reinforcing a barricade. The sheer weight behind the weapon forced her body backwards as she struggled to maintain control.

The snow beneath her feet continued to collapse, but Camila gritted her teeth and pushed harder.

The siege weapon’s enormous body continued grinding through the frozen wasteland, but its speed gradually decreased as Camila’s ability fought against its momentum.

She could feel the strain spreading through her entire body.

A screeching sound screamed against the snow as the weapon continued forward, it wasn’t until the enormous metal structure was almost directly in front of her.

Camila’s arms shook violently as she poured even more strength into her ability.

The weapon finally came to a halt only inches away from her face, and solemn silence fell over the area as Camila stared at the enormous metal structure. She slowly glanced at the lucky Eidolon standing beside her, which was still frozen in shock, apparently unable to comprehend how close it had just come to being crushed.

"Salary ain’t worth it, huh?"

The Eidolon didn’t respond, not like it could. Instead, it slowly raised its spiked club, but Camila simply waved her hand, causing the weapon to suddenly change direction and slam straight into its face, killing it on impact. She then looked up at Daisy, who gave her a thumbs-up.

"I don’t remember this being part of the plan. What the hell were you two doing? I nearly died."

Malik snuck his head out from behind the barricade. "We almost died. Try to be inclusive."

Camila rolled her eyes so far back into her head that Daisy wondered if they were going to fall off. Daisy then landed on top of the siege weapon, since there weren’t any more Eidolons left on it, and looked towards Camila.

"We can’t turn it on, and we can’t destroy it without Malik. We had to improvise. Right, Yuri?"

Yuri’s face was unusually pale as she drew her black katana. Just ahead of them, a giant figure was approaching through the snow. He was as large as a story building, his fur completely blood red, and he carried a massive axe that was almost half the size of his enormous body.

The Eidolon Chief’s eyes were bloodshot as he glared darkly at them. Daisy swallowed whatever she had been about to say, while Camila immediately began regretting ever accepting Andrea’s invitation to dance with death.

"Tsk... who even told her death was a good dancer?"

Yuri stepped forward, her black katana held firmly in her hand.

"I will face him. You guys stay back."

Camila looked up at Daisy, and the two locked eyes before silently reaffirming their decision.

"Yeah, yeah! We can do that..."

"I mean, someone has to protect Malik."

"And let’s not forget the giant laser beam. We can’t exactly let the Eidolons take it back."

Yuri didn’t even bother glancing back at them. Her body instantly vanished, but the Eidolon Chief was already expecting that level of movement from her. He immediately lifted his massive axe, and Yuri’s katana collided with the weapon, drawing a shower of sparks from the impact before she immediately bolted away again.

Just looking at the Chief was difficult. His enormous body seemed to leave no obvious opening to exploit, and no matter where Yuri looked, she couldn’t find a reliable place to strike. His sheer size wasn’t the only problem either; every part of his body was backed by frightening strength, and the massive axe in his hands made approaching him carelessly almost suicidal.

It created a perplexing situation where Yuri was constantly flashing towards him, striking at whatever opening she thought she had found, only to blast backwards before the Chief could counterattack. She wasn’t truly making skin contact with him, and the longer the exchange continued, the more obvious it became that she was searching for an opening that simply wasn’t there.

The Chief was just as frustrated as she was. When Yuri got close again, he suddenly stretched his arms and released an angry roar. The sound was so loud that it actually managed to stun her, leaving her body momentarily unable to respond.

That was all the Chief needed.

His massive axe came crashing down towards her, and the pressure created by the descending weapon made Yuri’s heart leap into her throat as she struggled to even move. Camila quickly raised both hands and activated her dormant ability, but the force behind the axe was simply too much for her to stop. Fortunately for Yuri, the small lag Camila created was all she needed.

Yuri successfully bolted backwards and stopped beside Camila, her breathing heavy as she looked back at the enormous Eidolon.

"He’s too strong. If we fight him in this state, we’re all going to die."

Malik cautiously snuck his head out again.

"Guys, I have a suggestion. We run, yeah? Surely Andrea can figure it out from here. We’ve done more than enough. What do you guys say?"

They all looked at him and stayed silent. Malik was already preparing himself for a scolding, but instead, the three of them simply shrugged.

"Yeah, let’s move."

Camila immediately grabbed Malik and threw him towards Daisy. Daisy caught him before jumping towards the controls of the siege weapon. She squinted at the faintly glowing runes, then raised one hand to cover her eyes. She started pressing all the buttons.

The siege weapon once more roared to life and began moving away, trampling the stray Eidolons in its path. They could make the massive weapon move, but they still had no idea how to steer it, so their only option was to yell and warn any nearby humans to get out of the way before they were crushed.

The Eidolon Chief stopped following them. He watched the enormous weapon moving away for a moment before turning around with a low growl, apparently deciding that chasing them any further wasn’t worth his time.

...

Deep within the battlefield, there was a particular mass of dead Eidolons that appeared to have been crushed to death by some incredibly powerful object. But if anyone looked down at the bodies, they would quickly realise that the object responsible wasn’t an object at all.

It was a human.

Ryan’s hoodie was stained with blood, his body buried beneath the corpses of the Eidolons he had crashed into. After a short cough, he miraculously awoke. His eyes slowly opened as he raised one bloodstained hand and stared blankly at it.

He could feel the flesh of the dead Eidolons underneath him. He remembered what had happened. He had collided with them after being sent flying, and the impact had killed them.

Even while injured, his physical body was simply too strong for them.

Ryan was about to close his eyes again when a figure suddenly appeared before him. It was a woman with short pink hair and beautiful curved eyes.

Ryan attempted to smile, but the pain only forced his expression into a grimace.

"Allen."

Allen smiled brightly and jumped into the mass grave of Eidolons, carefully making her way towards him before gently kneeling beside his battered body.

Ryan knew her, although he had always believed they weren’t nearly as close as she usually acted.

"What are you doing here? This is the Eidolon battlefield. You’re not supposed to be here. You could get hurt."

Allen raised her hand over his face and said quietly. "How many fingers am I holding up?"

Ryan’s face remained blank, he was injured, not blind, so why would she ask him that?. So he asked. "Is that a trick question?"

The moment he said that, Allen’s figure suddenly vanished, Ryan’s eyes opened once more.

He was still lying within the mass of dead Eidolons he had crashed into, their bodies scattered around him and beneath him. His breathing was still heavy, and his body was still covered in blood.

Except Allen wasn’t there anymore.

Ryan gritted his teeth and slowly forced himself back onto his feet. His entire body protested against the movement, but he ignored the pain and looked up at the thick, cloudy sky.

The dark clouds above were slowly turning red.

Ryan stared at them for several seconds before finally speaking.

"Allen, what were you trying to say?"
