Chapter 453: Small Break, Monster Lord Sub-Talent

[Sub-Talent Scroll: x2 Monster Lord (S-Level), x5 Supreme Strength Enhancement (S-Level), x5 Supreme Spirit Enhancement (S-Level), x4 Supreme Agility Enhancement (S-Level), x3 Supreme Constitution Enhancement (S-Level), Void Affinity (A-Level), Abyssal Affinity (A-Level), Expert Necromancy (A-Level)]

Leon noticed that every servant only had one sub-talent related to them, or sometimes even none at all, which struck him as odd given their divine origins.

’Why is that?’ he wondered, his brow furrowing as he considered the implications.

Even the Vessel of War back in the Imperial Kingdom only had one sub-talent, which suggested a pattern rather than coincidence.

Was it because they were limited to only one by their god? Or simply because of a restriction in the Higher Domains that prevented them from accumulating more?

He had been focusing on fighting the servants he and the girls were going against, but in the meantime, Leon had also taken the time to observe some of the other servants, studying their movements and abilities from a distance.

After all, 600 servants meant 200 gods, and yet he only knew about around 30 of them at most, meaning there was a significant amount of them he didn’t see, a vast pantheon of divine beings.

That was likely due to the fact many of their servants were killed during the initial infighting, and then were killed by the Requiem Guild before he could get a good look at them.

But still, he was able to peer through their panels and see many names that made his expression darken with each new discovery, the list of his enemies growing longer.

And here is a list of all the gods Leon added to his hit list from the servants’ panels: Space, Chaos, Destruction, Luck, Fate, Dimensions, Elements, Wishes, Comets, Truth, Secrets, Justice, Freedom, Blood and Sacrifice.

These were all the ones he remembered, though even with that, there were still a ton of gods and goddesses he didn’t know about, their names hidden from him.

’Each of these beings have their own abilities, domains and servants,’ Leon thought as he gazed at the item beneath him, ’This is gonna be... an impossible task to overcome them all.’

The more gods he discovered, and the more servants he fought, the more impossible this felt, the weight of the challenge pressing down on him.

And yet, Leon wouldn’t give up, his determination burning brighter than ever.

Plus, a simple idea appeared in his mind: ’The Celestials, they’re in the Eternal Domain aren’t they, and I’ll meet them once I arrive there due to the [Celestial Meeting]...’

Hopefully they could help, and if they didn’t, so be it as long as they didn’t get in his way, he would find another path forward.

Either way, with that done, Leon had every item he obtained from the servants before him, and he could finally start using them, his fingers tingling with anticipation as he sorted through the loot.

For example, the Monster Lord (S-Level) sub-talent was particularly interesting, a unique ability that he had never encountered before.

[Monster Lord (S-Level): You are able to make monsters weaker than you submit to your will, turning them into a pet if the conditions are right. You will need to keep their strength and loyalty high, but they will be able to evolve, like a normal pet. There is a limit to how many you can have though.]

’Incredible...!’ Leon thought, his eyes widening with excitement, ’Being able to make any monster a pet is something I never heard of in either of my lives.’

Did that mean he could make an impossibly strong monster his pet in the Eternal Domain if he defeated it? Leon felt like the description didn’t reveal the entire story, leaving room for hidden potential.

But still, the possibilities were endless.

"Here," Leon said, handing the other Monster Lord sub-talent he acquired from Celestial Hand to Emilia.

He decided to give it to her since her actual SS-Level talent, [Elven Saintess], would be very useful for such a sub-talent, amplifying its effects.

[Your relationship with beasts is among the best there is, and they will always be loyal to you no matter what.]

That was one of the passives of her talent, meaning that no matter what, the monster she subdued would never leave her, making her the perfect wielder for this power.

Fwoosh! Ding!

[You have learned the S-Level Sub-Talent: Monster Lord.]

Right afterward, he himself absorbed the Void Affinity (A-Level) and Abyssal Affinity (A-Level) scrolls, feeling their power integrate with his existing abilities.

[Void Affinity (A-Level): You are attuned to the void, gaining a passive resistance to void-based attacks and a slight boost to any abilities that draw upon emptiness and nothingness.]

[Abyssal Affinity (A-Level): You have an affinity to the abyss, gaining a passive resistance to abyssal-based attacks, and able to resist the corruption of the "Abyss" in the Eternal Domain.]

He tried to fuse the [Expert Necromancy (A-Level)] with his existing one to boost him to S-Level but unfortunately it didn’t work, the energies refusing to merge.

’Oh well, not like the undead would have been that useful in this fight anyway,’ he shrugged, setting the scroll aside.

Then with all the skill stones obtained, he now had this much: 365 Skill Stones in total, a substantial amount that would allow him to evolve at least one of his skills.

And he decided to use 300 of them to evolve his [Abyssal Slash] skill, pushing it to its maximum potential and unlocking its true power.

[Abyssal Slash (Legendary Lvl.5): Blend into the shadows for up to two minutes then strike at an enemy with a powerful darkness-based attack, the abyss calls out to you, seeking their heads. The longer you stay in the shadows unnoticed, the stronger your attack will be.]

Ding!

[You have evolved your "Abyssal Slash (Legendary Lv.5)" skill into "Abyssal Slash (Legendary Lv.10)"]

The panel around the spell began to shift and reform, the interface glowing brightly as the skill reached its maximum potential.

[Your "Abyssal Slash (Legendary)" skill has reached its maximum level and has grown much stronger.]

Ding!

[Your "Abyssal Slash" skill has evolved into "Abyssal Execution"]

[Abyssal Execution (Max): Fade into the abyss itself, becoming one with the shadows for up to ten minutes. When you strike, your attack carries the weight of the void itself, capable of tearing through even the strongest defenses. The longer you remain hidden, the more devastating your strike becomes, and upon killing an enemy, you may instantly return to the shadows to strike again.]

’Hold on, its linked to not only shadows, but void and abyss too now?’ Leon thought, his mind racing, ’Hm, does that mean the skill becomes even stronger after the two sub-talents I just got?’

...

A/N

Keeping up with 200 Gods is incredibly difficult, but I already have each of their names and abilities listed up, so its gonna be pretty exciting later :)!

Every God and Goddess listed until now is like only 1/4 of the actual number, there are still many more.
