"What next?"
Seeing his determination, Levia started getting excited as well.
"T-That’s good. Now you need to repeat this process multiple times until you feel that you can no longer continue."
Qasim held his breath and continued creating more and more Mana Blocks until he felt his mind and soul becoming exhausted. Only then did he stop and admire the beautiful and complex Mana Blockchain he had just created.
"Perfect! N-Now you need to create your Mana Engine. Follow me carefully."
Levia started using the Mana Blockchain she had created earlier to attract more mana around her, forming multiple connections between the red mana particles and slowly building a structure around the Blockchain.
Qasim watched every second with growing excitement and couldn’t ignore the idea forming in his head.
"It’s like she’s creating a chemical molecule!"
Back when he was sick, he had spent countless hours researching what was killing him. Naturally, he studied many sciences, and one of them was chemistry.
He could immediately tell that the next step of magic was very similar to a chemical reaction—creating bonds between atoms.
Except, in this case...
The bonds were between mana.
When Levia finished, she was holding a beautiful yet incredibly complex sphere of red mana.
"Did you catch that, or do you want me to explain what I did?"
Qasim nodded and started mimicking Levia’s actions.
Within only a few minutes, his Mana Blockchain had formed countless mana bonds, and soon afterward, it began shrinking into a red sphere.
"P-Perfect! That’s your Mana Engine now."
"The engine I showed you is one of the simplest ones. Its purpose is to cast a simple First-Rank active spell called Fire Torch. Follow me, and I’ll show you how to use it."
Levia raised her hand and moved the Mana Engine through a precise pattern, drawing a triangle in the air.
The moment she completed the final movement, a small flame ignited in midair.
Qasim was completely overwhelmed with excitement.
Real magic had just been cast before his eyes!
He quickly copied Levia’s hand movements.
The next moment...
A much larger flame burst into existence in front of him.
A huge smile spread across Qasim’s face as he created another one.
Then another.
Then another.
"Haha!"
He couldn’t stop laughing.
"O-Okay, good job... but p-please stop. We’re still inside the house."
Levia tried to stop him, but when she saw his childish smile and sparkling eyes, she smiled back.
She still remembered casting her first spell.
She had been just a child back then.
She had reacted exactly the same way.
So she let him enjoy the moment.
A little while later, Qasim’s flames suddenly disappeared, leaving him confused.
Levia explained that his Mana Engine had run out of mana. If he wanted to use it again, he would first need to refill it.
"Yes, teacher! What’s next?"
"N-Now let’s practice more Mana Engines, there are two types of Mana Engines."
"The first type is the Mono Engine, which can handle one type of spell using one type of mana."
"The second type is the Poly Engine, which can handle multiple types of spells while using multiple types of mana."
Levia puts her hand on her cheek as she thinks.
"For now, I think you should become more comfortable with the Mono Engine."
"Okay, teacher!"
For the next few hours, Qasim continued training.
Levia showed him different Mana Engines for different purposes.
A blue engine that cast a Water Disk spell, acting as a soft shield.
A white engine that cast Wind Boost, increasing movement speed.
And many more.
By the time the other members returned, they were greeted by the sight of Qasim and Levia happily casting spells all over the house.
Needless to say...
It caused a little chaos.
"You two..."
Doran’s face turned red with anger.
"Stop right now, morons!"
...
After everything was cleared up, both Levia and Qasim were kneeling on the floor with their heads lowered and their hands raised as punishment.
"I can’t believe you let a little boy act so carelessly, Levia."
"I-I’m sorry..."
"Please, Brother Doran, it’s my fault! If someone needs to be punished, it should only be me!"
Doran opens his mouth and narrows his eyes unimpressed.
"First thing, don’t call me that. Second thing, both of you will stay like this until I say otherwise..."
His serious tone and impassive face made both Qasim and Livia feel afraid.
"Oh, c’mon now, Doran. We all know you secretly like being called that."
"Shut up, Valen."
While Doran and Valen start arguing, Levia suddenly tried to change the topic.
"Casting spells right after learning them... I don’t think I’ve ever heard of that."
Hearing her words, Valen stopped teasing Doran and turned toward the boy.
"Indeed... This just shows how talented he must be."
Qasim then looked at everyone.
"Oh, by the way... are you all mages?"
Valen shook his head, making Qasim widen his eyes in surprise.
"Nope."
"The other three Black Seed teams are each formed around a single power system."
"But our Team Four isn’t like that."
Valen pointed at each member one by one.
"Levia is our mage."
"Doran uses Nahr’Keth."
"Yasmin uses Irada."
"And I’m a Maker."
Qasim froze for a moment.
But not for the reason anyone expected.
A greedy smile slowly appeared on his face.
"So... that means I’ll get to learn from all the Mohlikat from you, right?"
The entire team fell silent.
A moment later...
Valen burst into laughter.
"Oh, sure... if you want to go insane and kill yourself as fast as possible!"
