Only I Can Use Every Power System

Chapter 7: Cha.7 First Mission (1)

"Oh, sure... if you want to go insane and kill yourself as fast as possible!"

Qasim blinked a couple of times before asking why.

"Well, it’s simple, although the Mohlikat are six power systems, they all have one thing in common, you can choose one of them and only one."

Valen then raised his hand t to point at himself.

"Think of it this way. First, if I want to become stronger, I need to master my powers, right? Well, if I have to learn all the Mohlikat, it will take so long . Which makes it time-inefficient."

He then spread his arms and looked at the team.

"Second... we aren’t made for such a thing in the first place."

Qasim looked at him in confusion. "How so?"

"Well..."

Valen then raises three fingers.

"There are three layers that define you."

"The Physical Layer."

"The Spiritual Layer."

"And the Egoistical Layer."

He then started clicking his head while talking.

"Our self conscious is in the third layer, along with all of your history."

Valen suddenly spread his arms wide.

"Everything about you exists in that layer, your past, your present, and your future."

"And guess what?"

"If you try to learn more then one Mohlikat, you will put your body and soul and fate into much great pressure then you think you can hold... eventually it will break you and you will goes insane."

Valen then gives him a serious look before continuing.

"Trust me kid... There are many examples of geniuses goes insane of that."

Qasim stayed silent.

This world was incredibly complex and deep, nothing like most of the novels he had read.

But...

He had already made up his mind.

"Maybe I’m special. Who knows?" Qasim thought.

"Anyway, you two should get ready."

"R-Ready for what?"

"Well, of course to show the boy around. He needs to see what he’s working with, right?"

...

A few minutes later, the team entered a room Qasim hadn’t seen before.

Inside was an elevator.

They took it up from their underground headquarters and arrived inside a completely different building with white walls and polished granite floors, reminding Qasim of the museums he used to see on his phone.

Soon enough, they ran into an elderly woman with a warm smile.

She bowed respectfully when she saw them, and they bowed back.

"This is Liza, our cleaning lady. She’s very sweet."

After greeting her, they continued walking until they reached the reception bureau.

A young woman was quietly handling paperwork.

The moment she noticed them, she stopped and greeted everyone.

"Hi, Eve. We’re just showing our new member around. Any news?"

"Oh... so this is the boy."

Eve looked at Qasim and smiled.

"It was a bit difficult preparing your documents, but I’m happy I managed to finish them. I just hope they’ll be approved by the higher authorities soon."

"I-I thought Valen was handling Qasim’s documents...?" Levia asked.

Valen smiles awkwardly

"Let’s not focus on who did what, Levia."

Even the turners back to face Valen.

"As much as I would love to hit you right now but, unfortunately... a new mission is waiting."

So far, Qasim had simply been watching in silence, but he couldn’t quite understand where they were.

"Big Bro- I mean Doran!... where are we? Is this the Black Seed?"

Doran gives him a side glance before answering.

"Half right."

"This is one of the many Black Seed buildings."

Qasim tilted his head confused.

"But how does it even work? How does it stay hidden?"

"Simple..." Doran responds.

"The public believes this is a mission and service company called TaskJam."

"If something strange happens around them, they come here and submit a request."

"Those requests are first evaluated by professional Black Seed agents to determine whether they’re worth taking."

After Valen finished talking with Eve, he turned toward Qasim with a smile.

"Well... turns out your first mission starts today."

"We’re heading to a village that’s pretty far from here to investigate reports of some strange monsters."

Qasim nodded before following the rest of the team outside.

As he stepped through the large entrance doors, he was greeted by the beautiful view of the city he now lived in.

Classic-looking buildings.

Lively streets.

The entire atmosphere reminded him of the kingdom-building games he used to play.

The team hailed a taxi to take them to the village.

The trip was surprisingly quiet.

After only thirty-two minutes, they arrived at the small village.

The first person to welcome them was the village mayor, the one who had submitted the request in the first place.

"Welcome, welcome! You are from TaskJam, right?"

The old man with half-closed eyes and a large mustache spoke politely.

"That’s right, sir. We came as soon as we received your request."

"Please, no need for formalities."

"We value efficiency and time above all else."

"Y-Yes, of course..."

"First, please come inside so we can talk."
