Others Summon, I Forge Beast Armor

Chapter 113: Training Seraphina [III]

In the Cave and Mine phase, a family of bats roosted. Seraphina used her abilities to keep them asleep because hundreds of flying bats would cause chaos.

Luke didn’t question her judgement. Those were normal bats, not monster bats.

But then they ran into a monster called a Minecrawler, a mutation of multiple monsters because of the Aeon gas in the caves. It was the strongest monster so far, so Luke was ready to take it down, but Seraphina tranquilized the monster instead of killing it.

To Luke’s surprise, the Minecrawler walked to a corner, curled itself, and went to sleep.

"Seraphina, what are you doing?" Luke asked. "That is a monster. We must kill it."

"Must we kill every monster?" Seraphina asked.

"Yes, we must, if we want to: clear the zone," Luke replied firmly.

Seraphina obeyed and changed the Minecrawler’s dream to a nightmare.

The monster woke up infuriated and attacked the closest thing. Luke met it with Purgatory Charge, exploding its hybrid guts.

After killing the monster, Luke faced Seraphina for a pep talk.

He couldn’t believe she thought making a monster go to sleep was the right move. Even Amigo, who was a pacifist, would never think of that.

Luke sighed as Seraphina looked at him naively, waiting for his words.

"Maybe I should stop comparing her with Amigo. They are two different beings," he thought.

But he gave Seraphina the pep talk anyway.

He explained the rules of hunters in this world; how clearing a monster zone meant removing every threat in it.

He also reminded her that some monsters are strong enough to overcome her imbuements and could fake sleeping to catch her unaware.

While Seraphina listened to him, she noticed that the Aeon gas was affecting Luke.

Quickly, she blessed him with resistance to it.

Seraphina herself was unaffected because she already had resistance skills.

Luke felt the difference the blessings had on him. It was a reminder that the Mythic armor, Olympian Serpent Bodyplate, also had resistance as an attribute. He thought about equipping it for the first time, but he wanted Seraphina to get her hands dirty and learn how to fight with him.

In the cave, some Ore Moles were scurrying about.

Seraphina ended their independence as she hijacked their minds.

Under her will, the moles began digging through the cave and opened passages that allowed the Aeon gas to escape from the cave. Once their usefulness expired, Seraphina forced them to stay in those passages until they died from the gas.

〖Flame +7.0〗

Some scorpions skittered out from the passages to escape the gas too, only to meet Luke’s spear one by one.

After slaying them, the system rang–

〖Congratulations! Cave and Mine Phase Cleared!〗

But Luke was focused on Seraphina, who was looking around for their route to the final phase.

"There’s something bizarre about her...," he thought. "She doesn’t kill. She doesn’t fight. She just does things I can’t really explain, and somehow the things she does always seem to work out in my favor. She is...

What’s that saying again? God works in mysterious ways?

Yeah... that’s exactly what she feels like. With a summon like this, are there any situations I can’t survive?"

The final phase of the monster zone was the Hill Phase. To get there, Luke punched their way through the cave to find a tall hill. Atop the hill were monsters called Avalanche Armadillos. By rolling down the hill, they create dangerous avalanches that kill.

However, Luke and Seraphina could fly over these avalanches.

But the avalanches were too strong; they couldn’t allow them to bring these hills down, or Luke could get a points deduction for destruction and endangerment.

To solve this, Seraphina pointed a finger at the armadillos and burdened them with a spiritual weight so heavy that their bodies cracked, and the weight pinned them to the slope of the hill.

Luke swooped down and plucked all the Avalanche Armadillos with his spear. He didn’t forget to collect the cores for Seraphina as they reached the top of the hill.

At the top, they ran into a pack of Hill Hounds as big as camels and as savage as starving wolves.

Although Luke could handle all these monsters by himself, he handicapped himself so Seraphina could earn her keep.

The Hill Hounds surrounded Luke, mouths dripping saliva, but Seraphina possessed one’s soul and attacked another. Mayhem followed as the Hill Hounds fought each other, each thinking everyone had turned against him.

Possessing another being wasn’t the only thing Seraphina could do.

Before getting to the guardian of the boss, they found a Crystal-horn Stag, a monster that could fire crystals at enemies with its crown, and its body was as hard as rock.

Unfortunately for the Crystal-horn Stag, Seraphina rendered its target useless by deceiving it with illusions.

On the other hand, Luke took advantage of the poorly targeted crystals and used Blitz Charge to appear before the Stag with his spear.

〖You have slain a Crystal-horn Stag〗

〖Flame +10.0〗

〖Congratulations! You have cleared Hill Phase!〗

〖Goodluck in defeating the Boss!〗

Luke gripped his spear tighter as he saw the guardian far ahead in the field atop the hill.

He was about to attack to maintain his momentum, but he felt his spiritual advantage, Seraphina, absent.

Looking behind, he saw her picking up the cores of the Hill Hounds and the Crystal-horn Stag, and even wanted to begin absorbing them.

He had no choice but to palm his face.

"Seraphina! You can absorb those cores later! Put them in my inventory! You have access to my inventory!"

Seraphina’s hand trembled, and the cores vanished a second later. She clenched her jaw and flew as fast as she could to Luke’s side, putting on a serious expression again.

The Boss guardian was a Gneiss Wolverine, while the Boss was a Gneiss Raptor.

Seraphina wanted to stop playing around and disappointing Luke, so he decided to end things quickly. Her eyes glowed gold, and her spirit entered the wolverine. The wolverine stopped charging at them and tried to fight back her spirit, but Seraphina seized control.

Using its claws, the wolverine ripped out its own throat and fell dead.

Seraphina’s spirit invaded the Raptor too, tearing out its heart with its own claws.

She killed them as if they weren’t worth living in the first place, and it sent a shiver through Luke, who watched everything unfold.

〖Congratulations! You have cleared the Monster Zone〗

After clearing the zone, Seraphina returned to her body, and her eyes continued to glow gold as her wings spread out. She continued hovering, waiting for Luke to commend her since she was dependent on his validation.

For the first time, Luke decided to check her potential.

Mythic 3.1 with 9.9 Potential.

He now had two Mythic summons with 9.9 Potential.

What came after 9.9 Mythic? No one knows, but nobody had even seen a Mythic summon with 9.9 potential in the first place.

If the Empyreal Angel was as omnipotent as this while at 3.1, then what the hell was her potential?

Luke selected Potential on his system. The conditions for her path were listed out like it had been with Amigo.

〖Condition 1: Let the beast witness 100 acts of kindness and 100 acts of cruelty.〗

〖Condition 2: Let the beast cultivate for one week where at least 100,000 people pray.〗

〖Condition 3: Let the beast witness the birth of 100 species and the death of 100 species.〗

Luke wondered if he had a chance.
