On this isolated island, Fang, the long-time administrator, was facing an emissary from the Evil God Sect. The emissary, dressed in a black robe with a blank expression, brought news that made Fang’s heart shudder.
"The Sect Leader wants me to bring the Divine Physician Chen Qingdi to his side," the emissary said coldly. "He wants to perform a brainwashing experiment on Chen Qingdi to make him a loyal servant of our sect."
Fang’s heart tightened. Chen Qingdi, the island’s mysterious visitor, was standing right beside her. His eyes were deep and bright, and he showed little surprise at this sudden news.
"Qingdi, what are your thoughts on this?" Fang asked, trying to remain calm.
Chen Qingdi was silent for a moment, then smiled faintly. "I was always just a chess piece. It seems this game isn’t over yet." His voice held a transcendent calm.
The emissary frowned, clearly displeased with Chen Qingdi’s attitude, but said nothing.
"Emissary, please relay my answer to the Sect Leader," Chen Qingdi began slowly. "I am willing to meet the Sect Leader and discuss the mysteries of life and death with him."
"This way, then," the emissary said coldly.
Worried, Fang tried to dissuade him. "Qingdi..."
"Don’t worry." Chen Qingdi glanced at her and smiled lightly. "I’m just taking a trip. I won’t be long."
On the ship, the Gu Poison in Chen Qingdi’s body had been purged, and his Power was gradually returning. He closed his eyes and focused, feeling the energy flow within him. To him, the people on this ship were nothing.
Suddenly, there was a SPLASH, and a man’s head broke the surface of the water. Droplets glistened on him in the sunlight, his face filled with terror.
Immediately after, another man emerged from the water, his body trembling nonstop, clearly terrified of something.
Chen Qingdi frowned slightly as he looked at the two men. They were obviously not part of the ship’s crew.
"Spare us, my lord!" the first man begged. "We’re just common people who were captured!"
Chen Qingdi’s heart stirred. He walked over and gently gripped both of their wrists. They shuddered, clearly feeling the immense power flowing within him.
"Where are you from?" Chen Qingdi asked.
"We are citizens of the Dragon Country!" the two men said in unison.
’Dragon Country?’ Ripples spread through Chen Qingdi’s heart. His gaze swept over the two men, then fell on the other people on the ship. These were all captured civilians.
A pang of pain shot through his heart. ’To think there is still so much suffering in this world.’ He clenched his fists as an indescribable rage surged within him.
Amid the roaring sea wind, Chen Qingdi stood resolutely at the bow, his eyes deep and bright, like the most brilliant stars in the night sky.
His figure appeared solitary and firm in the wind, like a fearless reef facing the churning waves, showing no intention of backing down.
"Mr. Chen, we should be heading back," the captain said from behind him, his voice full of awe.
Chen Qingdi didn’t turn around, his gaze still fixed on the distant horizon. "I can’t leave yet, Captain. I still have things to do." His voice was firm and steady.
"But, sir, we can’t make an enemy of the Evil God Sect. They are..." The captain’s words trailed off under Chen Qingdi’s gaze.
"I know who they are, and I know their power. But I do this for the innocent, for this broken world." Chen Qingdi’s voice was filled with determination and conviction.
The ship sailed across the sea, the wind howling and the waves churning.
Chen Qingdi stood at the bow, his gaze deep and resolute. ’My road is still long,’ he thought. ’I have to keep going. For the innocent. For this broken world.’
Once on the ship, his Power recovered much faster and grew even stronger. In his eyes, the Evil God Sect guards on board were nothing but a rabble, not even worth his notice.
He closed his eyes to sense his surroundings, clearing the last interference from the Gu Poison. Then, he unleashed a slaughter. The high-ranking members of the Evil God Sect on the ship were annihilated in one fell swoop, leaving only the sailors, the captain, and the first mate.
Chen Qingdi forced them to sail the ship back to the Dragon Country, and they had no choice but to obey.
As the sun rose from the horizon, Chen Qingdi stood at the bow, his gaze falling upon the distant Dragon Country. The nation of his birth, the nation he had sworn to protect.
"Captain, full speed ahead. Don’t slow down for a second," he commanded.
The captain looked at Chen Qingdi, his eyes filled with awe and confusion. "Sir, are you sure we should proceed at full speed? It will increase our risk."
Chen Qingdi didn’t answer him, his gaze still fixed firmly on the distant Dragon Country. "I’m doing this for the innocent. I must get back immediately," he repeated, reaffirming his conviction.
The captain watched Chen Qingdi’s back, his heart filled with awe and confusion.
When the ship finally docked, Chen Qingdi looked upon the soil of the Dragon Country, his heart filled with relief and resolve. He knew his road was still long, and he must keep walking it.
For he was not only a hero of the Dragon Country, but the hope of its innocent people.
He turned to the captain and said, "Thank you, Captain. You did well."
Hearing Chen Qingdi’s praise, the captain’s face broke into a smile. "Sir, I just did what I had to do."
As the sun rose from the horizon, Chen Qingdi stood on the soil of the Dragon Country, his gaze firm and deep. He knew his road was still long, and he must keep walking it.
For the innocent, and for this broken world.
He silently vowed in his heart, ’I will keep fighting. I will make this world a better place.’ His conviction was as firm and powerful as a warrior’s oath.
「On a clear afternoon」
The long period of life on the island had left him somewhat weary, but his heart was filled with anticipation. He knew full well that returning to the mainland meant he would face new challenges and opportunities.
To ensure his safety, Chen Qingdi decided to find a place to put on a disguise first, to avoid being spotted by the mainland’s Evil God Sect and causing more trouble.
He skillfully used makeup techniques to make himself look more ordinary and avoid attracting unnecessary attention.
After finishing his disguise, Chen Qingdi decided to buy a car to make getting around easier.
He went to a dealership, picked out a black sedan, and hired a reliable driver.
"Sir, where to?" the driver asked politely.
"To Shen Mingyue’s company. It’s very well-known around here, so it should be easy to find," Chen Qingdi replied nonchalantly.
