Pioneer Lord: I Have Conquering System

Chapter 248 - 206: Spiderized Zor Elf (2)

"Break!"

Before everyone’s eyes, he deflected the Giant Axe that had pinned him, smashing it into the ground.

Gus let out a savage roar and leaped up, his Broadsword, as wide as a door, whistling through the air as it smashed toward his opponent’s bloodshot face.

"You traitor! I’ll kill you!"

Enke roared to the heavens. The Minotaur was a peerless warrior. He unleashed a Beast Roar that stunned Gus for less than a breath, and in that instant, he swung his Axe.

But Gus’s attack was merely a feint. A surge of the Thunder Element erupted from his Broadsword, engulfing the Minotaur Chieftain.

The sheer Elemental Power made Panda’s fur stand on end.

"Seize the opportunity!" the Centaur Leader bellowed.

Zat and Panda instantly understood. The moment the Thunder Element paralyzed the Minotaur Chieftain, their nimble blades sliced through his tough hide, pierced flesh, and severed tendons. In the blink of an eye, his massive body crashed to its knees.

Enke was a tough one. Even with his hamstrings severed, he roared and tried to fight back. But another heavy blow smashed down on his thick spine, and he spat out a mouthful of blood. He could no longer grip his weapon. He propped himself up with his hands on the ground, his strength fading.

Enke looked up, reaching out as if to grasp something. As the Chieftain of the Bloodhoof Tribe, he possessed not only supreme Martial Arts but also control over Elemental Power. He had never tasted defeat, yet in this moment, there was none of the joy one feels when meeting a worthy adversary.

The thundering of hooves grew closer from behind. He strained to reach out, as if trying to grasp something just beyond his reach.

Gus raised his Broadsword high and brought it down with savage force!

This Minotaur was perhaps the strongest person on the field, second only to the Lord. But not even the Lord would bet on surviving a decapitation, let alone this Minotaur.

With the fall of their strongest champion—the one in whom they had placed all their hopes—the remaining Wilderness People instantly broke. They wailed as they scattered and fled in all directions.

The warriors of the Thorn Corps began a calm and methodical pursuit, picking off the stragglers. Completely annihilating over twenty thousand fleeing Wilderness People was unrealistic, so they focused on maximizing the damage.

"It’s finally over. So many people died in this war."

Looking at the scattered limbs and broken bodies all around, Ash sighed. A deep sorrow filled her beautiful face, making her look as pitiful and lovely as a begonia blossom beaten to the ground by a storm.

She didn’t know how many had been laid to rest forever in the snow, never to rise again. The Wind Speech Tribe had suffered grievous losses as well; of their three thousand warriors, fewer than one thousand remained.

Levi appeared beside the Elf Queen at just the right moment. He reached into his pocket, pulled out a handkerchief, and offered it to her.

"They were the bravest of warriors, who gave their lives to protect their homes. The Goddess will bless them," he said, offering some comfort.

"Thank you, Sir Levi." Ash gently refused the handkerchief with a hand as white as jade.

As an Elf who had lived a very long time, she had witnessed far too much life and death to be as prone to tears as a fledgling.

She just felt a pang of sorrow, seeing so many lives treated as cheaply as weeds. It was a shared grief for the fallen, regardless of their side.

Levi wasn’t bothered. He simply stuffed it back into his pocket. ’Good,’ he thought, ’now I have a spare for my nose.’

"Boss, what do we do with the Minotaur’s body?"

Zat, having recovered some of his strength, came over.

Levi looked at the Minotaur before him and shook his head. Its head alone was nearly as large as he was.

This Minotaur was different in every respect.

’His physique, a full five *ren* tall, was far beyond that of his kin. He also controlled the Magic Power of the Elements and was proficient in all sorts of Blessing Magic and Shaping Magic.

’This was a true champion of the Wilderness. If he had been given time to grow, it wouldn’t have been impossible for him to carve out his own territory and declare himself king, just like that Black Dragon.’

"He was a powerful warrior. Though not famous, he is worthy of respect. Give him a proper burial."

’There was no deep-seated hatred between them, only a difference in allegiance. Out of a warrior’s respect for a worthy foe, Levi didn’t mind granting him some dignity in death.’

Of course, this "proper burial" simply meant he got his own grave. Compared to the grunts piled into mass graves, it was indeed a high honor.

As the fighting subsided, the sky brightened. He looked out over a landscape covered in bodies lying in the snow: Lizardmen, Kobolds, Pigmen... almost every common Race in the vicinity was represented.

Zat enthusiastically began leading his men to collect the spoils of war. They might not find a single copper coin on these Wilderness People, but their Iron Armor and weapons were a considerable fortune in themselves.

This was especially true since High Cliff Castle had its own armory.

If they brought this Iron Armor back, it could be melted down and reforged into a new batch of weapons—perfect for their own use or for selling.

"Boss, we’ve got a prisoner over here!" Zat yelled as he ran over.

Levi walked over. When he pulled back the flap of a tent, he saw a female Zor standing calmly inside. Two Beastman Barbarians flanked her, their blades held to her throat.

"You’re finally here," she said, her eyes fixed on the Lord.

"Yes, I’m here." Levi nodded, feeling a bit bewildered.

"You shouldn’t have..."

"Cut it out. If you have something to say, spit it out. Don’t play these tired games." Levi looked exasperated. He waved his hand, and the two Barbarians withdrew their weapons and stood aside.

"This is all your fault! If it weren’t for you, I would have already crushed this Elf Tribe and taken the Magic Crystal!" Eliya’s face was a mask of resentment.

Only when she saw the armor the human was wearing did she realize who had led the attack that wiped out her squad of Zor Priests and rescued the surrounded soldiers.

In her eyes, this human was the sole cause of her failure.

"Eliya?"

The tent flap was thrown open and a group of people flooded in. Heather, the Zor Priest, was the first to cry out. Then, a cold sneer crossed her face. "I thought you’d died in some nameless corner. I see you’re still alive."

"Lord, this Zor is the culprit who organized the Wilderness Alliance Army. That Minotaur from before was the enforcer she used to control the Alliance Army."

Heather explained to Levi.

Eliya didn’t deign to spare the traitor a glance. Her gaze swept over the others in the tent. "Heh, quite a gathering."

"Not everyone is here yet, but this is close enough," she muttered to herself.

"Oh no..." Heather seemed to realize something. She opened her mouth to shout a warning, but it was already too late.

A nearly instantaneous whisper of a Spell escaped her lips. In a flash, a halo of light enveloped Eliya, and her body began to swell like an inflating balloon.

"It’s Spiderization! Lord, we have to go!" Heather’s face went white as she stared at Eliya, whose lower body was now that of a spider while her upper half remained a scantily clad woman.

She never expected this Zor Bishop to have mastered the Magic of Spiderization.

Normally, only those blessed by the Mother Goddess Rose possess the ability of Spiderization. However, some Priests study this power and develop similar Magic.

This Zor Bishop had clearly mastered this profound Magic.

Once the Spiderization is complete, the power of their Magic grows stronger, and their own Power multiplies.

’I wouldn’t last a single round against that,’ Heather estimated.

"All of you can stay and be buried with me." The four eyes on Eliya’s forehead darted about wildly. Her face was twisted with malice as she casually swung a razor-sharp spider leg, slicing the tent in two.

Her spiderized form was over five *ren* tall. She had eight legs, each one as sharp as a freshly honed butcher’s knife.

From the moment she knew she had failed, Eliya had no intention of leaving alive. She only felt hatred for the one responsible for her defeat and was determined to take a few others down with her.

And the Lord was clearly at the top of her list.

She began rapidly chanting a Spell. Magic Power gathered around her, and a massive Fireball materialized in front of her.

WHOOSH!

A Fine Steel Javelin shot out like a bolt of lightning.

"’Be buried with me?’ How about you go play in the dirt by yourself." The Lord lowered his arm and casually cleaned out his ear, a cold sneer on his face.

’Daring to cast a spell on me from ten paces away? Did she really want to see if her Casting was faster than my throw?’

And the facts proved that within ten paces, a Javelin was not only faster, but also dead-on accurate.

The headless, spiderized Zor’s enchanted form began to dissipate. Her body regressed, returning to its original human shape.

And so, a Zor Bishop of her generation met her end.
