Pioneer Lord: I Have Conquering System
Chapter 384 - 270: Eat My Holy Light InfusionThe Holy Knight was once an Extraordinary Profession that dominated an era, a success owed in large part to its unique characteristics.
With each advancement, their constitution and Elemental Resistance would multiply.
Best of all, its unique Holy Light Element didn’t require the arduous daily meditation that Mages undertook just to grow a sliver of Magic Power.
Once a Holy Light Seed was successfully formed within the body, the user’s own Power determined its upper limit. The more condensed the Holy Light Seed became, the more Holy Light it could contain.
As such, the Holy Light Seed grew stronger with every advancement.
The Lord’s Attributes were now near Max Level. As a Holy Knight of the Firefly rank, his Power had long since become inhuman. To this day, no one could rival him.
Since he began cultivating the Holy Word Treasure Manual, the Holy Light Seed within him had become like a dazzling, brilliant sun.
Levi followed the method for the Holy Light Spirit Blade, which he had learned from Fatir, guiding the Holy Light along a specific path into his two-handed greatsword. The greatsword, forged from Fine Steel, began to emit a golden glow.
This Divine Magic was simple: enchant a weapon with one’s own Holy Light, imbuing it with an Elemental Attribute. This allowed it to inflict multiplied damage on non-corporeal beings, such as the Undead or Evil Spirits.
Frankly, this Divine Magic was standard fare for a novice Holy Knight.
Novices had scarce reserves of the Holy Light Element, so this was the only way to make perfect use of what little they had. High Level Holy Knights, on the other hand, had dense reserves of Holy Light but had also learned more powerful Divine Magic, and they disdained using such a low-level technique.
But whether a Divine Magic was low-level or not depended entirely on who was using it!
Levi raised his greatsword. Holy Light surged from his body, causing the blade to shine with ever-increasing brilliance. Soon, it extended, forming a Light Saber twenty blade-lengths long.
The dazzling light was enough to outshine the blazing sun, stinging the eyes of all who watched. Levi himself seemed to have become a small sun. Everyone stared, dumbfounded, at the scene.
It wasn’t that Levi had reached his limit. Rather, the greatsword forged from Fine Steel couldn’t withstand such a degree of Holy Light and was already spiderwebbed with cracks.
Don’t let the name "Holy Light" fool you into thinking it’s a harmless, healing-type Element. After all, even gentle sunlight, when focused, can melt steel—to say nothing of this pure Elemental Power.
"Taste my Sword of Promised Victory!"
Without a second thought, Levi swung the Light Saber, bringing it down on the Flame Giant’s head as easily as slicing through a melon.
BOOM! A thunderous crash. The Light Saber, condensed from the Holy Light Element, slammed into the Flame Giant. The influx of a foreign Element forced a struggle between the two forces. Finally, under the Lord’s sustained output, the giant let out a mournful cry and shattered like molten iron, sending a red-hot spray of fire blasting in every direction.
Under the strain of such violent use, the greatsword in Levi’s hand instantly melted into red-hot droplets of iron. The molten metal dripped down the magnificent coat of the Three-headed Dog and onto the ground. If not for Biefeng’s mastery of the Fire Element and his resultingly high resistance, the droplets would have seared right through his hide.
The demons in the path of the Light Saber suffered the most miserable fate. First, the flames from the exploding Fire Elemental Creatures engulfed them, setting them ablaze. They rolled on the ground, howling in agony.
But the descending Light Saber was far deadlier. It was like a small sun crashing to earth. Their thick horns began to melt, their filthy, greasy fur burst into flames, and their solid bones started to dissolve.
Their entire bodies were torn apart and melted away. The Holy Light scoured their faces, twisting them into demonic masks. Their shrill, desperate screams, like the wails of evil spirits, would have moved even the most hard-hearted missionary to pity.
In the span of a few short breaths, a trench nearly twenty-five blade-lengths long had been carved out in front of the Lord, tapering from wide to narrow. The Flame Giant and all the demons in the blast zone had vanished into thin air, reduced to ash.
The simplest, purest deluge of elemental power had created the most stunning visual impact. The battlefield fell so silent you could hear a pin drop.
"Heavenly Lord!"
"By the Holy Light Goddess!"
In the distance, Fujero and his cavalrymen stared blankly at the scene. As followers of the Ice and Snow Goddess, their faith was shaken to its core. They found themselves crying out to the Holy Light Goddess instead.
Levi himself was secretly amazed. ’I hadn’t expected the move I’d improvised to be so effective.’
His application of Holy Light wasn’t exactly profound, but he made up for it in one key area: sheer volume.
An endless torrent of Holy Light could still inflict considerable damage.
If a Holy Hall Warrior had been present, he would surely have rebuked the Lord with a pained expression for such a monstrous waste. ’No matter how much Holy Light one had, it shouldn’t be used like that!’
What was the difference between that and using a Holy Sword to stab a Succubus? It was complete overkill!
This turn of events was clearly beyond the Horned Demon Wizard’s expectations. It stared, dumbfounded, at the instantly annihilated Flame Giant and the swath of demons.
’This is so frustrating,’ it thought. ’Logically, shouldn’t the vast majority of human forces be committed to the rear? Why would a powerhouse of this caliber be here?’
But its proudest Magic had been effortlessly dismantled. Anyone who wasn’t a complete idiot could see that a powerhouse like this was far beyond its ability to handle.
It hastily called for the Six-armed Snake Demon guarding its side to escort it away. All thoughts of continuing the slaughter had vanished. An enemy of this magnitude could only be dealt with by Lord Bartley.
As a parting shot, it cast a Blood Frenzy Technique on the surrounding group of Low Tier Demons, who were already scared out of their wits.
