Phanesha looked at her, the red-haired beauty who had her arms open, asking for a hug.
For a brief moment, she considered her options. She came close to landing a slap on Paragon’s face—which would have felt nice and vindictive—only to pull away by this woman.
The pain from that, and the fact that the Paragon had won one over her, made her consider not hugging her mother.
However, after a few seconds of acting spoiled, she walked into her waiting arms and hugged her.
"I miss you so much, Phanesha," the woman said, enjoying the hug.
"No need to be overly dramatic, Mother. It has only been thirteen eras. You sleep longer than that," Phanesha said with a smirk, causing her mother to pout.
"There is no need to be heartless, Phanesha. If you were to have your own children one day, you would understand just how a day away from them feels. Let me tell you, it is the worst feeling ever."
Phanesha didn’t reply to her mother, but she took her words to heart and decided to hug her a little longer. This made her mother very happy.
After five minutes, they broke the hug, and the woman scanned Phanesha’s body for a few moments before a smile formed on her face.
"How have you been? I can see you have fixed all the flaws in your soul. How is your brother? Still as troublesome as ever?"
"I have been well, Mother, and yes, I have fixed all the flaws in my soul, as you can see. As for little brother, he is still as chaotic as ever. He became a Primordial, but instead of focusing on his cultivation, he kept obsessing over defeating a rival of his, who I just learned was the reincarnation of Avalon."
"Oh, that doesn’t sound good at all," the woman said with a smile before adding, "He will probably snap back to his senses soon. Unlike you, he has always been a problem. I think I should have paid more attention to him."
"You are the Blood Matriarch, Mother. I am sure you have more important things to do than keep your attention on that brat. But yes, I am sure he will snap back to his senses after his recent defeat." Phanesha sighed and walked to a seat not far from where she had hugged her mother.
After sitting down, she turned and looked at her mother. "I am sure you didn’t drag me all the way here just to ask how I was doing. So why did you bring me here?"
The Blood Matriarch smiled and also walked to her seat.
"I certainly didn’t bring you here just for that. But I missed you regardless." She smiled, then her expression grew serious. "The reason I brought you here has to do with Avalon..."
"...He goes by Kent Madson now," Phanesha interjected.
"Sure." Blood Matriarch nodded, then she said, "I want you to send him a message for me."
Phanesha frowned, clearly not planning on seeking out that brat again. At least until the time came for her to train with him, she had no plans to be around him.
Kent was just too annoying, especially when Paragon was with him. The two of them were like the bane of her existence. They always found ways to anger her. If she got close to him, who knew what he would do next? Perhaps he might push her too far, ending in Kent’s death.
Seeing the expression on her face, the Blood Matriarch smiled.
"You know, I never thought a day like this would come, where you would frown at the mention of his name. He was your little crush when you were young, you know."
"MOTHER..."
Blood Matriarch laughed. "What is there to be angry about? Every friend of that brat has this unique talent for making beautiful ladies lose their minds. That said, he is a good person, and deep down, I know you know that too. So maybe cut him some slack.
"And for what it’s worth, if you had used that Primal Ascension Platform the last time, it would have ended in your death. Avalon... I mean, Kent, knew that, so he took the risk."
Phanesha’s brow furrowed as she listened to what her mother had said.
"It is the truth. He came to me before using it, and I personally inspected it. It was a Chaos-type Primal Ascension Platform, something you would have failed to use, and as we all know, failure means certain death during the Primal awakening. If anything, you should be grateful he took it from you.
"He is a good person, Phanesha, so instead of hating him, at least try to appreciate his selflessness. All eight of them are unique individuals whom none of us can compare to, so the least we can do is support them emotionally—or, in your case, physically and sexually."
"MOTHER!"
"Hehe." Blood Matriarch laughed, lifting both hands in mock surrender.
Phanesha merely smirked, somewhat wanting to return to Kent, who at the moment had no idea of the life he had lived before the universes were born. At least he wouldn’t be as annoying as her mother.
"What message do you have for him?" she asked.
Blood Matriarch waved her hand, manifesting a single-page manual.
"Hand this over to him. He will have to decipher it himself, since even I don’t know how. But tell him that even if he won’t remember who, the Weeping Monk said that what he wants is located here. By deciphering this anagram, he will get the answers he has been seeking.
"Apart from that, tell him that the tide is changing, so whatever he is up to, he had better hasten his pace, or he will be too late to do anything."
Phanesha grabbed the manual, scanned it for a few seconds, then stored it inside her soul.
"Is that all?" she asked, eager to leave before her mother became even more shameless.
Blood Matriarch waved her hand again, and several cultivation items appeared.
"Unlike you, your brother has lost his main body, so he will have to cultivate a new one. Give these to him, and make sure that until he is ready, he won’t fight that monster again.
"While that monster won’t kill him, he might become his heart demon, which we both know is even more terrible than death."
"I will do my best."
"That is all I want to hear. Be careful, though, and please don’t try to kill him again. If you force his hand, then even I wouldn’t be enough to save your skin."
"I don’t need you to save me, Mother. I can take care of myself, so maybe focus on yourself," she said with a smirk as she stood up, causing Blood Matriarch to chuckle.
"I will miss you too."
Phanesha ignored her shameless remark and shook her head.
"Send me back, please. Staying here is eating away at my sanity."
Blood Matriarch smirked and opened a portal for her. Phanesha merely smirked in return and walked through it. The portal closed behind her.
After she was gone, a figure clad in blood-red armor appeared. She had the same crimson hair, and her features were remarkably similar to Phanesha’s.
"Still hot-tempered, I see," she said with a smile, looking at the spot where the portal had closed.
"It seems so, big sister, but at least she isn’t slacking off. I just hope this time around she will learn to make friends and maybe create some bonds."
"You worry too much, Scarlet," the newcomer said, patting Blood Matriarch on the shoulder.
"Well, she is my daughter, so I have to worry about her. You will understand if you have your own child instead of spending your entire life moving from one battlefield to another."
The lady smirked.
"I am leaving, Scarlet. Call me if you need something that doesn’t involve lecturing me about the need to have my own children."
She vanished, leaving Blood Matriarch with a small smile on her face.
