Once their leader was hit, the dragons became frantic and started to fly around wildly. It was clear that they no longer had any idea what they should do, so most of them started to attack the humans even harder.

Moreover, the fake dragon somehow managed to avoid the whole attack and only sustained superficial injuries during this confrontation.

"Get ready! The attack will come again. Brace yourselves!"

The female dragon warned them, but the dragons began to behave strangely. They looked at the fake dragon before they started to retreat.

It was a relief to see the dragons retreating like this. But Kael had a feeling this was far from a happy ending for him. In fact, he was sure that the dragons were planning something nefarious.

And he was right once he noticed the huge tsunami headed his way.

’Darn it! The barrier already has holes in it. It won’t be able to withstand this sudden pressure!’

And yet, Kael had no choice but to withstand the full force of the rushing water and prevent it from hitting the people behind him. He took a deep breath before announcing this.

"Everyone, brace yourselves. The tsunami will hit the barrier, but it might break through it. If you have any way to get to higher ground, then do so now."

Kael warned them while he strengthened his spell to reinforce the barrier.

The water hit the surface hard and fast, causing the barrier to be pushed back a few inches. At that moment, there was genuine concern that the barrier might not be able to hold on for much longer.

But it somehow held on for much longer than Kael expected. He was able to withstand the entire tsunami, and the barrier broke the second the water level started to drop.

"Hey, human, you did great. Your barrier protected everyone—"

The dragon started to praise Kael’s power when he sensed something else building up in the distance. It made him start chanting immediately to try and stop it.

Soon, a second tsunami rose, and Kael deployed his second barrier. This time, the force behind the attack caused his knees to buckle under the pressure, and he felt winded. But once again, he held on.

"This does not feel normal. Leon, Seraphina, I need you to check out what is happening. You will likely have three minutes. Do you think you can find the cause of this?"

Kael asked, pinning his hopes on the pair standing in front of him, but they did not look so sure of themselves.

"We should be able to. But realistically, three minutes is not enough time...unless we are able to get a little closer to the source."

Leon hesitated before he spoke these words. It was clearly hurting his pride to admit this, and Kael did not fault him for it.

Instead, he nodded and sighed.

"I see. In that case, tell everyone to start moving with me. I will keep casting barriers to help you get closer."

The closer they went to the tsunami’s source, the more powerful it would be. And yet, they had no choice but to move forward bravely. Kael knew this, and he started to walk forward. Leon quickly conveyed his words, making the others pay attention to him.

When the third wave hit, Kael was ready. But that did not mean he was not struggling. His barrier started to crack, causing people to gasp. They were all afraid that they were going to be swept away.

But then Lyra decided to join him in defending against the tsunami, and her magic repaired the barrier.

Kael looked at her with a startled expression, not having expected her to join him and give him a helping hand. But Lyra looked back at him with a proud expression.

"What are you looking at? Did you think I would let us all die from this little bit of water? There is no way!"

She declared confidently as she continued to support his barrier. And that was how the third tsunami was blocked.

Now, there was a single tsunami left that needed to be dealt with. But this close, Kael could start feeling the corruption that was governing this situation.

"Ugh, this stench is awful. It seems like we were dealing with corruption after all."

Lyra pointed out with a sigh as she looked at the rotting corpse in front of her and shook her head. She looked disappointed and uncomfortable, but she did not run away, which was a big deal.

She also started to gather magic with Kael when the next tsunami hit, and they successfully blocked it.

As soon as it subsided, Leon and Seraphina rushed out to find the source of the corruption. It was a small locket floating in the air and giving off sinister energy.

The best way to get rid of it would be to destroy it before it could attack again. Otherwise, Seraphina and Leon risked being consumed by the corruption.

The locket noticed their presence and decided to try and stop them both. It created humanoid creatures that attacked the pair and wasted their time. But the pair was ready to confront them.

Kael bit his lip as he watched with a heavy heart. He knew that the pair outside had no choice but to fight like this, but he was worried for their safety even more.

"Leon, we don’t have time for this. Attack the pendant first!"

Kael yelled, wanting Leon to hurry up.

Fortunately, they had Elena, and she created more bodies to block Leon and Seraphina’s enemies, allowing them to move forward.

"Go, Elena! You can do it! Block all the enemies with your powers!"

Lyra cheered the female necromancer on, and Elena gave her a tired look, but she continued to use her powers.

That allowed Leon and Seraphina to get close enough to strike the pendant.

Seraphina sealed its movements using her holy magic, and the pendant resisted, only to be cut in half by Leon.

Finally, humanity had won.
