RE: Perverted Sugar Daddy System

Chapter 462 - 462: Ending. Hello Governor

A shootout didn't occur during the presentation.

No crazy group came running around claiming delusional takes or pulling the attention of the crowd in the negative direction.

A police sergeant served as the host for the event, the eloquence of his voice grabbing the attention of all who had attended.

As the minutes passed, way was made for Sky to take the stage.

The young billionaire gave an enticing, heartfelt speech as he stood on the stage.

He had the crowd yearning for his every word, rounds of applause erupting occasionally.

Between his speech, I was called forward, my face publicly introduced as the co-founder of the organisation, before I was rapidly withdrawn.

"Is it just me, or did most of the cameras stop flashing when I came up on stage?"

Rather than return to my seat, I had moved to the back, taking a seat beside Denise, who was still entertaining her rather persistent admirer.

I leaned toward her, whispering into her ear, and she replied to me with an unbothered shrug.

"Nadia did well," Denise randomly commented, her words making me search among the crowd for my PA.

Finding the ambitious woman, I saw that she was with Sky's secretary, talking in hushed tones and nodding way too much for my liking.

Focusing back on the event, after a few more words, Sky dismissed the stage, and quickly the event progressed to its end, entering its more relaxed moment of entertainment.

Everyone had left their seats and was now socializing, waiters moving about and serving drinks.

"This wine... I don't think most of the people here have tasted something like this."

Moving from the crowd she had stuck with for most of the event, Annie came beside me, and though she tried to be discreet, I could catch her eagerly studying the yellow liquid in the cup in her hand.

"There was a man I encountered earlier here at the entrance to the station, Jamie Dimon. Do you know him?"

Annie glanced at me, a little put off that I had ignored her observation, but she silently put her brain to work, scrunching her forehead, though to my disappointment she shook her head.

"No, I don't know anyone like that."

Nodding my head, I didn't ask more.

Some minutes after the event started, I had casually looked around to find Jamie's position, but had failed to find the man.

Whilst searching for his figure, the most obvious solution to understanding his identity was asking Nadia, but the woman was living up to the skills learned in college socializing.

She seemed to be all over the place, or maybe it was just me being an introvert.

Spending most of my time watching the people around me, the event finally drew to an end.

When Sky moved to depart, this time looking to go through the police building unseen by the public, I was by his side.

"You've been quite reserved throughout today, Marcus. Something bothering you?"

"No, I just prefer being out of the limelight, living in the moment."

"You think I don't live in the moment?" Sky asked, his tone a little playful, but also daring.

"No. You might believe otherwise, and that's perfectly alright.

Our lives are all different, the angle we see things from is determined by the life we have lived, and it is all unique."

"Hmm." Sky didn't reply immediately.

I moved with him, the two of us seemingly moving side by side, but for those with acute eyes, I was just a step behind.

"100 million to charity, that's a lot of money.

5I won't lie, when you made that donation, I was blown away."

I didn't say anything to Sky, merely offering a smile.

"It's hard for me to imagine that all you want from all this is charity. You're giving away a lot."

"I guess you're now meeting the first of my kind."

"I doubt it."

We had gone across the building and were outside when Sky said these words, and immediately he came to an abrupt stop.

Following in step with him, I also stopped, and in that moment, both our gazes met.

Well past midday, the weakening rays of the sun fell on us, and a few steps away, Sky's limo drove up, waiting for him.

Staring at me, Sky's eyes searched mine, and in the end, he gave up.

"I'll be waiting for your call. You have one chance to tell me what you need."

After speaking, Sky resumed moving, but this time I didn't follow.

I watched his back as he descended the few steps leading up to the station and, without hesitation, stepped into the limo, his driver closing the door shut.

The car drove away, and Nadia immediately appeared behind me.

"Did you convince him to stay?"

"Why?" I turned to my left.

"Did you even read the itinerary I sent you? If Sky doesn't come, the afterparty will be a bust."

"You might as well cancel it. He has better things to do with his time, as do we."

Not giving Nadia time to reply, I continued with my words.

"Forget whatever plans you have past this. Hand it all to Annie and go bring the car around."

Nadia was starstruck by my orders, but she silently nodded and soon was away from me.

Standing alone in silence, a thought struck me, and I immediately regretted that I had already sent Nadia away.

Echo!!

Energy leaving from my head and resonating with the world, I searched for the enigmatic man I had met at the start of the event, still finding him absent.

I was still standing outside when a crowd appeared behind me, looking to exit the building.

Fuck, I groaned within.

Just like Sky, I had also avoided the governor, but right now, if I let him walk past me without saying a word, it would be no different from publicly making a statement.

"Governor Harold, let me personally introduce you to Marcus Lawson. I believe you both haven't had a chance to meet throughout this event."

Before the governor could look in my direction, I had already turned, and with a smile on my face, I stepped forward, back bent and hand outstretched.

"Governor Harold," I said with a bright gaze, glancing at Denise to the side.
