Just then, I saw Azrael. I immediately stood up and rushed toward him, but he suddenly pushed me away.
"What are you doing?" he snapped. His eyes were blood red, I just stared at him in confusion, he felt scary.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
He gritted his teeth and scoffed. Just then, I heard footsteps, and a blurry figure walked toward me. He gently held my hands, I felt warm and fulfilled, as his hands were so soft.
"Are you okay?" he asked, I nodded softly.
He chuckled and scooped me off the ground, walking away. "Don’t worry. Even if they stop loving you, I wouldn’t," he said.
My brows furrowed in confusion. What did he mean by those words?
I looked over his shoulder. I could see my beastmen just standing there, glaring at me. I was getting farther and farther away from them.
"Wait, put me down!" I screamed, but he didn’t put me down.
Just then, I woke up, panting heavily as I stared around.
"Raven, Raven," I heard Azrael call my name.
I looked around in panic when he suddenly grabbed my face. His lips landed softly on mine, making my lashes flutter. I melted into the kiss that second and kissed him back.
Azrael’s tongue slid into my mouth, and a soft moan escaped my lips when—
"Ahem."
I turned to stare at whoever had cleared their throat. My ears tingled as I touched them.
"You suddenly collapsed and kept muttering, ’Be mine.’ What did you dream about?" Veyra asked, crouching down and gently tucking a strand of hair behind my ear.
My heart was beating so fast. If there was anything I was scared of in this world, it was losing them, or them leaving me. I couldn’t imagine it, I didn’t want anyone else.
Without thinking, I immediately moved closer, and my lips landed softly on his.
Veyra stared, frozen by my actions, while Ryker walked in with Thyrian.
"Raven, are you sure you’re okay?" he asked.
I nodded, and pulled my lips away, but Veyra suddenly pulled me closer and pressed his lips deeper against mine.
Azrael just stared since he was so close.
"That’s enough," Ryker said and poked Veyra on the shoulder.
Veyra shot him a cold look. "What are you doing?" he snapped.
Ryker flashed a cold smile. "That’s enough. Do you want to swallow her whole?" he asked.
Veyra chuckled and slapped his hand off his shoulder. "I still want to swallow her more," he retorted and moved to slam his lips onto mine again, but Azrael grabbed his shoulder.
"I didn’t kiss her that long. Are you planning on having longer seconds?" he asked, the corner of his lips twitching upward.
"Guys, don’t fight over this. You can all have turns," I mumbled. That sounded so weird. It felt like I was happily embracing the foursome.
They kept exchanging words among themselves, and Thyrian shook his head. He walked toward me and gently rested his forehead against mine for a second.
"Do you trust him?" he asked.
My lips parted to say something, but I suddenly felt drowsy, Thyrian noticed and held my hands.
"When you fainted, he was muttering some words," he said.
I stared at him in confusion, "Muttering?" I mumbled.
Thyrian moved closer. "I’m a merman. Hypnotism is our specialty. Those words he was muttering were hypnotic. After you passed out, what did you see?" he asked.
I sighed. "It’s nothing. I saw nothing," I lied, not wanting to disclose anything, especially since the snake beastman was staring at us.
"Are you hungry?" I asked Kael, he didn’t utter a word, Instead, he just moved closer.
My eyes widened, and in the blink of an eye, he was in front of me.
"Are you hurt? You seemed really weak and cold then," he mumbled, placing his hand on my forehead.
His eyes shone black, I could only stare. His hands were surprisingly warm, Thyrian placed his hand on Kael’s wrist and yanked it off my forehead.
"What are you doing?" he asked coldly.
Kael’s lips parted, but Azrael turned to him. "Move," he said coldly.
I felt Kael’s gaze darken, I didn’t want this to escalate, so I raised my hands into the air.
"I’m very much okay. Let’s continue the journey," I replied and stood up, but the second I did, my legs wobbled, and Azrael immediately held my waist.
"You need to rest. The dam can wait," he said, but I shook my head negatively.
"I need to do this now, once and for all," I mumbled.
So Azrael decided to carry me on his back and gave his backpack to Thyrian, I rested my head on his broad shoulder, falling asleep.
What woke me up later was the cold water that flowed around my waist. I panicked, but Veyra’s hand landed on my back, gently holding me so I wouldn’t fall.
"We’re just crossing the river. It’s okay, Raven," he mumbled.
I nodded.
My body still felt weak and fresh, so I just closed my eyes, the next hours later, my eyes popped open, I was lying on the ground, and it was already dark.
Everyone seemed to be asleep, and the moon was shining the brightest...i admired, when a movement caught my eye.
Kael?
He stood up and looked around. He didn’t realize I was watching and tiptoed to the bag Azrael had given Thyrian to hold.
He unzipped it, and after rummaging through it, he brought out my gown.
My eyes dimmed. He sensed it and looked my way, I quickly shut my eyes. He stared for a second, then looked away, brought the gown closer to his face, and began to sniff it.
What the fvck!
"Cat," I called inwardly.
That second, she appeared, dressed in cat lingerie, which made me question my sanity.
"Why are you dressed like that? Did your owner do this to you?" I asked.
She rolled her eyes. "I’m not in the mood, Raven!" she snapped.
I nodded, grinning evilly. "You look cute though," I dragged, and her eyes dimmed.
Her lips parted, but my finger pointed straight at the snake beastman. "Should I contract him as one of my beastmen?" I asked.
She floated closer. "You can, Raven. You are in a polygamous beast world," she said.
"But I’m the only female with so many consorts. How is this world polygamous?" I asked.
"Raven, what do you have in mind?" she ignored the question, turning her gaze to the snake beastman, who was still sniffing my clothes.
"Ooh, looks like you have a stalker."
"Si is there still no information on him" I asked.
"Nothing. I can’t get any information, his past was wiped clean. But Raven, a beastman can either destroy you or make you. Please choose wisely."
"Good luck, though. Whatever you choose, I trust you, and your beastmen will too."
"Who are you talking to?" Kael whispered into my ear, and I shivered.
