Michael watched as the nanoparticles started to surround his very skin, becoming a tight-fitting garment that had protective padding around his muscles and most important vital parts.

To be honest, this kind of armor looked extremely similar to that of the typical attire of motorcycle riders clad in all-black, except he was clad in pure gold.

He could even create a helmet if he wanted to.

He found that he could easily mold the golden nanoparticles into any shape that he wanted. It was as easy as picturing a shape in his head, and his Nascent Armor would quickly follow it to the letter.

Intrigued by this power, he started to experiment on how he could use it.

He held out his hand, letting the golden particles gather atop his palms. Since these were nanoparticles, they could condense into a very tight fit, allowing for easy storage or passage through a narrow way.

The golden particles created a very small golden cube, even smaller than his fingernail.

He moved this cube away from his palms, letting it hover just a few inches away from his skin. Then, he started moving it away, inch by inch.

There was no limit as to how far his Nascent Armor could move away from him. Theoretically, he could even move it halfway around the world and he’d still be able to control it with definitive ease. He was inextricably connected with it.

This meant that he’d be able to use the Nascent Armor to protect someone else, if he wanted to. This was very useful for tactics in the future.

Anyway, he continued to experiment, letting the golden particles form into objects that were atypical from the ones that he could think of.

He closed his eyes, focusing on a single thing.

The Golden Particles swarmed into each other, slowly condensing and forming into the shape of a small puppy.

“Woof!”

Michael’s eyes widened as the golden puppy barked at him the way that a normal dog would.

He was absolutely gobsmacked to think that this was even possible.

“Paw,” he said to the dog. The puppy tilted its head, not knowing what he was trying to say. This was even more surprising!

It’s acting like a real puppy, not just an imitation of one!

Since he was inextricably connected with his own Nascent Armor, this meant that the puppy should have known to offer its paw to him. Yet, it didn’t. It acted just like a real puppy, one that wasn’t trained yet.

Michael closed his eyes, now imagining a much more mature golden retriever dog. He even added a backstory for the dog. It was extremely well-trained and loved going for a swim at a local lake.

“Paw,” and the dog offered its paw. “Turn around,” and the dog did a 360 turn.

“Do you want to go for a swim?” he asked.

The dog’s tail wagged happily before it jumped towards his thighs and began to scratch at him with excited vigor.

Amazing. Anything I can think of, this Nascent Armor can become!

Eventually, Michael stopped experimenting with his new power. After all, that wasn’t the only thing he gained after this new achievement.

He looked down at his core, seeing it ready to burst at any moment.

He excused himself from everyone and teleported out of the room.

As soon as they saw this, everyone were pleasantly surprised. This little move from Michael had brought hope and excitement for all the Rebornians in the room.

They just witnessed their boss use magic when it was supposed to be gone!

“Hail Reborn!” they all screamed.

Michael went over back to the Parched Lands. He looked down at his own core and finally let that power overwhelm him. It had been waiting for a chance. And now, he was giving it that leeway to finally unleash that power.

The warmth had now grown stronger, burning with passion and emotion. The core in his chest had now fully turned into a liquid, with Aubility Power oozing out of him.

Threads spooled out from every crevice of his skin, as if his very existence was unfurling in front of reality.

That’s because it was. That was what happened when a Nascent Spirit cultivator truly ascends into this realm. The 1st stage was only an introduction. The 2nd stage was the real thing.

And now, he was entering it. With full force.

“RAGHHHH!” Michael screamed out in a cathartic shout.

His Nascent Influence spread out all around him, with reality starting to become destabilized. The sand in his feet began to turn liquid. The warmth of the sun turned cool. The wind stopped in its place.

This was the reason why he left New Sparta. Not only to protect the Rebornians around him, but to also shield this advancement from anyone else.

He saw how those Ersatz zombies had come from nowhere. He couldn’t let any of them know.

Finally, a sense of cool spread out from his core. This feeling was exhilarating, like vigor and life starting to come back to him. He felt stronger. Faster. Better. The core in his heart started to solidify again. But this time, it was smaller. More condensed. His Aubility Power had transcended into the next level once more.

He took a few seconds to breathe and get acclimated with his new strength.

Now, I have the strength to protect my family and friends. I can protect Reborn.

He didn’t just get a Nascent Armor. He figured out how to use his Nascent Influence. And now, he was going to try it out.

He reached down into the sands of the Parched Lands. He closed his eyes, focusing on the latent power hidden inside him.

It wasn’t like Aubility Power. That used threads. Nascent Influence was more like a wave. A spreading of an idea, rather than the spreading of something.

He dug through the sand until he found a small, sand-colored lizard. It looked at him curiously.

Michael looked at the creature and used his Nascent Influence.
