"It’s nice to meet you all, my name is Jacob Ironfell." Jacob introduced himself to the elders, the men shaking his hand quietly.

"Your grandparents have told us much about you. I will admit, when they warned us about your vision concerning Lucien’s treachery, most of us were not inclined to believe, some even thought your grandfather was saying it to hide his own sin. But now that we’ve captured him, and the slithery snake has revealed himself, we no longer have reason to doubt." Said Sylvanor, whom Jacob had to look down upon to speak to, but held no disrespect towards whatsoever.

"Yes, that is correct. Every single one of our plans is falling in place perfectly. I have come up with a plan." Jacob announced, stepping back so he can see everyone clearly.

The elders listened, this sixteen year old boy standing directly before them seemed more learned than than anyone of them could be, and they felt no shame about it at all.

"Once Morbius appears and learns that Lucien is captured. His concentration will be split, because his plan cannot be fulfilled without Lucien’s involvement. I’m glad about the cuffs you put him in, they will ensure that he stays confined." Jacob nodded to Raenys, who nodded back in confirmation. "When Morbius arrives, it’ll be him, Destro, and an army of demons. I’m going to need you all to leave Destro to me. I have a friend coming in from the Wutherhorn empire. And grandad. I know you’ve been itching for a rematch with Morbius."

"I need his head." Alaric growled.

"And you will have ample time to take what you require. The rest of you will clear out the demon army. While Xenia here, will attempt to take the sap from Morbius. It’s a simple enough plan, and if we all follow our roles, then it should be done in less than an hour."

The Elders exchanged glances, nodding to each other, some marveled by the boy’s brilliance.

"Alaric my friend, you have raised a man here." Banqui patted Alaric’s shoulder, then moved slowly towards the World Tree to speak with Yggros. Sylvanor followed directly behind him.

"You never cease to amaze me boy." Alaric inched closer to Jacob, who stood at eye level with him at just sixteen years of age.

"Grandad it’s a simple plan, preparation always wins."

"Well said, my boy. We cannot lose. I can’t wait to meet that wanker Morbius and rip his head clean off his bod—" Alaric covered his mouth as he just realized he had spoken a vulgar word, he turned back to see if Esty heard him, but she was still engaged in a conversation with Xenia. Heavens knew what they spoke about.

"Haha, don’t worry grandpa, I didn’t hear anything."

"Don’t tell your grandmother."

"I won’t."

The plan was set, there was nothing that could go wrong, even without Light’s arrival, Jacob believed they had enough might to defeat the forced that Morbius carried with him.

"Let me go join the others to say hello to Yggros son, she’s been here alone for a while." Alaric announced, patting Jacob on the back and leaving him there.

"...he has a good head on his shoulders. I should apologize even. When he arrived, I spoke of smiting him." Yggros’ voice resounded from the tree, she had perceived the apprehension of the mole Lucien, but she hadn’t said a word as the entire thing happened a short distance away from her.

"I agree, his plan is rock solid, but we still need to prepare for the worst, the power we’re up against is very tricky and unpredictable at times." Armand said.

"There you go again with the negativity Armand, don’t worry, my grandson’s plan will work. Yggros! How is my favorite tree spirit doing?" Said Alaric, who barged in on the conversation without a care in the world.

Upon hearing his remarks, Armand squeezed his face and folded his arms. "It wasn’t negativity, it was logic."

"I’m aware my friend, I was just messing with you." Alaric smacked Armand on the back so hard his fangs almost fell off, the old man was laughing.

Armand grumbled in a low, inaudible voice, not loud enough for Alaric to hear, but the man had already moved on.

"I have been good Alaric, we were just having a discussion about your grandson." Yggros answered him from within the tree.

"So I heard. Are you ready to face Morbius again?" Alaric inquired, he was very aware about her past, and knew that someone had to ask the uncomfortable questions. Yggros’ feelings could cause them to lose the battle in some mysterious way, and he wouldn’t have it.

"Morbius is dead to me, whatever he is now.... Is a monster." The tree spirit responded.

"That’s what I like to hear. You have your priorities straight, Morbius is only faithful to the demon king now, so be careful when interacting with him." Alaric reinforced. His words cut sharp like a blade, but no truer words had been said to her in a long time.

"I will assist in any possible way I can, the plan will not fail because of me."

"Very well."

There was a faint scent of acceptance in the air as the tall grasses rustled in the wind, no one knew the exact time that Morbius will appear, but everyone was fully ready.

Jacob walked towards Xenia and his grandmother. Their conversation paused as Jacob looked at Xenia.

"Do you have any problem with the role I gave you?" Jacob asked her. Esty smiled, seeing the connection between the two of them, she calmly excused herself under the guise of joining her husband.

"No, not at all, although it will be a challenge, but I accept dutifully. I would not be where I am today if I wasn’t able to rise to the challenges." Xenia responded, mirroring his gaze and smiling. A smile he hadn’t seen on her face for a while, warm and fuzzy. It was as though the old Xenia had returned.

"I know you’d much rather fight, but I don’t—"

"Don’t worry about it. Young master. I am happy. You might just have given me the most important role of all."
