Reborn In A Cultivation World With All Cheat Abilities
Chapter 197: Thank YouXenia turned her gaze to Jacob as she struggled to stand from the floor with Light’s help, they had already reached where she lay down and were about to take her home.
Light looked at them, shuffling his feet silently, it had not apparently registered with him yet that the whole thing was over and that he needed to head home now.
There was a loud screeching sound in the air and a small, green-scaled beautiful dragon, flew towards them, perching on Jacob’s left shoulder.
"Whoaa! What is that?" Light exclaimed, taking more than a few steps backwards as he watched in mild shock and fear. It was only normal, as the young man had never seen a dragon before.
"You’ve never seen a dragon before?" Jacob asked and chuckled softly, the facial expressions Light was making were very funny indeed.
"N-No, of course I’ve never seen a dragon, it’s fascinating." Light responded, his fear seemed to have completely vanished, there was a faint glint in his eye as he closed the gap between them again, looking fascinatedly at Raijin, how mirrored his gaze with small movements, and purred.
Light had seen plenty of creatures during his time in the Forest of Ten Thousand Beasts, so he was only surprised when the dragon seemed to materialize out of nowhere, but he was not scared of it.
"Hohoho! Who might this little fella be?" Alaric said, also looking at Raijin, but he at least had the courage to pet the small dragon.
Raijin sensed that these people were close to Jacob, and they meant no harm, so he let them pet him without a fuss.
"I named him Raijin, found him out in the woods south of here." Jacob responded, watching as the small dragon played and licked his grandfather’s face, causing the old man to laugh.
"How come you and Rhoarin boy get dragons and I get none." Alaric said, there didn’t seem to be a hint of jealousy on his face as he was too occupied with playing with Raijin. "He’s a cute little fella."
Jacob turned to Light, who’s expression had changed from fascination to uncertainty really quick.
Jacob walked towards him and threw an arm around his shoulder, guiding him further towards the other end of the garden. The rest of the family watched, but they did not want to interrupt whatever the two young men had to talk about.
"This is the part where we say our goodbyes and go back to our respective homes huh?" Light said while looking at the tree. If Jacob didn’t now Light well enough by now; the young man was not exactly good at goodbyes, especially when it involved close friends.
Jacob, Light and Xenia had built a bond that Light considered very strong, so parting with with them was always very difficult, especially now after what they had gone through.
"I guess so. But hey, like I told you back at the estate, it does not have to be goodbye forever. You know I can appear at your family’s manor in the blink of an eye right? And you can always visit the castle. No need to worry my friend." Jacob reassured him, causing a glint to appear in Light’s eyes again as he realized they weren’t too far apart.
"You’re not wrong."
"Right, don’t forget to say hello to Anissa for me, maybe the next time I come to the estate would be for your wedding." Jacob teased, and Light’s face instantly rotted at his words, turning bright red in a way that was a new look for him.
Jacob leaned closer and whispered: "Also, if you get married, and you still remain a pervert, I will personally kick your ass on Anissa’s behalf."
Jacob smiled and patted Light’s shoulder, but Light was not smiling as he knew that Jacob meant every word he said.
That certainly was an interesting way to say goodbye, Light smiled and waved to all of them who waved back as he left. There was nothing for him to do there anymore, so he was the first to leave.
As Jacob, Xenia, Esty, and Alaric stood in what seemed like a circle. They were suddenly approached by the other members of the Elder Covenant, including a limping and mildly bruised Seraphina.
"Banqui! Armand!" Alaric welcomed them with open arms, but he was not about to call everyone’s name one by one.
Armand rolled his eyes, he was that way. Where he came from, affection was not a thing like it was with the humans, infact affection was only shown by inflicting pain on a family member. It was one of the reasons why Allicent was so twisted and why she ran away.
Armand had come to create a relationship with people of other races, but from time to time he got annoyed at their affectionate behaviors towards him as he himself had not yet learned properly how to show affection.
No matter, Banqui was the first one who spoke. "Jacob, Alaric, we have come to offer our gratitude. If it hadn’t been for the both of you, then we would have been completely lost on how to deal with this threat. You truly are—"
"Nonsense, but me a bottle of wine and we’ll call it even." Alaric responded, most of them laughed, not all. "It was our duty, and we just fulfilled it, stop thanking us like we did all the work ourselves, our victory would not have happened without every single one of you. So thank you!"
Banqui’s eyes were wide open, dumbfounded at the man’s words, but he quickly regained himself, smiling faintly and nodding his head.
"We’ll be on our way now, we hope to see you soon Alaric." Banqui said, the rest of them nodded their heads before turning and walking away. Before long, they have vanished in the distance, and it was only the Ironfell family that was left in the garden.
"Let’s go home guys." Jacob said as they all started walking towards the garden gate, Jacob held Xenia up with one hand as she limped slightly.
"Oh, grandma, grandpa. You know mom is pregnant right? I’m gonna be a big brother." Jacob said again.
His words made Xenia remember how he lied to her, so even amidst the happy mood that was flying around in the air, she rolled her eyes.
