Who’s there?" Hector Vaughn barked sharply.

However, no one stepped into the room. Frowning, he stood up from his leather chair, walked briskly to the door, and pulled it wide open. The hallway outside was completely deserted.

’Of course! We would not volunteer ourselves if we were not 100% confident in our abilities!’ Xiaohua declared with her usual arrogant flair.

Yu Qi smiled internally. ’Alright then... I will leave the initial neutralisation to the two of you. Hold on a second while I pop into the Sere to bring you both out.’

Yu Qi immediately entered the Sere and found Xiaohua and Xiaoliu waiting eagerly. She brought them out at once. Before they materialised in the outside world, she had already instructed Aoi to activate Invisible Mode for both of them.

"Alright. You two can begin your job now." Yu Qi said.

"Yes, Master!" Xiaohua nodded enthusiastically.

Then, she and Xiaoliu walked away hand in hand, disappearing in different directions to begin carrying out their mission.

"Brother Hui, I can scan the entire island. I want to find out exactly how many underground facilities they have hidden here." Yu Qi stated.

"Alright." Long Hui nodded without hesitation.

Long Hui summoned his flying sword. The sword immediately enlarged until it was wide enough for both of them to stand comfortably upon it. Once they stepped onto the blade, Long Hui controlled it and flew upward, rising higher and higher until they had a clear bird’s-eye view of everything beneath them.

’Bo Ya, please scan this entire place.’ Yu Qi instructed mentally.

Using Yu Qi’s vision as the medium, Bo Ya immediately began scanning every corner of the island. His consciousness spread rapidly across the entire area, probing every building, every mountain ridge, every hidden passage, and every subterranean structure. After several moments, the scan was finally complete.

Long Hui slowly guided the sword back down before the two of them stepped into the Sere to consult Bo Ya.

"Master, I have already completed the scan of the entire island." Bo Ya projected a detailed three-dimensional holographic map in front of them. "Look here. There are two distinct underground facilities. Although they appear to be separate complexes, they are interconnected through several underground tunnels. Each facility also maintains its own independent surface entrance."

Bo Ya enlarged the projection before pointing at two specific locations.

"This entrance leads directly to the first underground facility." Bo Ya then pointed toward another location several hundred meters away. "And this one leads to the second underground facility."

Yu Qi carefully memorised the structural layout before asking another critical question.

"How many people are currently being experimented on here?" Yu Qi asked.

"There are currently twenty active test subjects inside the primary laboratories." Bo Ya answered grimly. "In addition, there are another thirty people being held as reserve subjects. They have not been used yet and are waiting in holding cells for future trials."

Yu Qi’s expression immediately darkened.

"Share this intelligence with Xiaohua and Xiaoliu. Tell them to be extremely careful not to accidentally harm any of the captives while they are neutralising the base." Yu Qi ordered.

"Yes, Master." Bo Ya nodded.

"Master, I want to help too!" Aoi immediately ran over, looking up at Yu Qi expectantly with big, wide eyes.

Yu Qi smiled warmly before gently patting Aoi’s head. "If there’s a task that requires your special abilities, I will definitely call on you."

"Fine..." Aoi nodded obediently, though a tiny hint of disappointment lingered on his face.

After that, Yu Qi and Long Hui exited the Sere once again.

They silently navigated throughout the island compound, remaining completely invisible under Aoi’s domain. Every time they encountered an armed patrol or a stationary sentry, Yu Qi casually dispersed a fine mist of potent sleeping powder into the air. None of the guards noticed a single thing.

One after another, their heads spun with sudden dizziness before they collapsed heavily onto the ground, completely oblivious to what hit them. Unconscious mercenaries quickly piled up across the surface facilities.

Soon afterward, Yu Qi arrived at one of the massive cargo containers she had previously spotted the smugglers loading with children. She slowly unlatched and pulled open the heavy steel door.

Inside, dozens of young children lay huddled together on the metal floor. Every single one of them was dead to the world. Yu Qi’s heart tightened painfully at the sight. She immediately crouched down and pressed her fingers against the neck of the nearest child to check their pulse.

"They are still alive." Yu Qi whispered in heavy relief. After rapidly examining several more children, she quickly reached a medical conclusion. "They have all been heavily sedated with chemical sleeping agents. Those monsters wanted to keep them completely unconscious and docile during transit."
