Chapter 938: Chapter 938: Mortality In A Suit

Mortality," She said, her voice becoming stoic and indifferent all of a sudden as unpleasant memories flashed through her mind.

Only one person ever called her Star and that person was one of the very few who were as old as she was, albeit much stronger.

"Show yourself...please..." She said, Although her time was stoic, she was still out in some respects.

Kneeling there in the center of the lava pool which was already cooling, she felt so lonely and weak.

"I’m already here," The voice said again, also as distant as it always was.

The Primordial Moth looked up and discovered that someone was standing in front of her all this while.

That was strange; she had looked and looked around, but she had not seen the person standing in front of her. That was very strange.

It was as if the person had blended so well with their environment that no one would be able to tell they were right in front of them unless they wanted them to see them.

And the Primordial Moth was exceptionally gifted with her eyes and vision. That she could not see someone who was standing right in front of her was a big testament to how powerful this person truly was.

She looked at the person very closely, a man of average height.

Obviously, this was just a humanoid form but it was actually very intriguing.

He wore a business suit; a pure black blazer and trousers with an inner white shirt. Complementing this savvy attire was a blood red tie hanging from his neck and tucked beneath the buttons of the black blazer.

The man didn’t look particularly handsome, possessing a face that most would forget after seeing the first time. It was only the second time that one looked at his face that they would notice how incredibly dashing he was.

An average-looking hairstyle that seemed to switch from black to white occasionally. One could never tell because the colors switched without any notice, making it look like his hair had always been black, or always been white.

His eyes were the most ordinary-looking ever. There was no striking or piercing iris, only mildly black and white eyes that most humans would have.

In terms of physique, he also looked very ordinary. His shoulders hung low, carrying the head that emitted an aura of humility just standing there.

Seeing the man, the Primordial Moth felt much calmer and safer.

"How are you, Star?" The man asked.

"I’m not fine, and don’t call me that," She shook her head, chuckling sarcastically.

The man raised an eyebrow, "Why not? Of all the names you have taken on in the past, I like Star better."

"Except I’m not the one who named myself Star, you are the one that gave me that name," She added while rolling her eyes.

"Hehehe," The man chuckled, "Then that’s precisely why I like it.

You might not be a goddess yet, but no one else in the universe is affiliated with the Law of Stars except you. You are the Singularity. You are the stars.

You are Star."

"..." The one called Star didn’t know how to respond to this. The man wasn’t trying to mock her. He called her that name because he saw her as something close to an equal. It was a name that was filled with respect for status and significance.

And it was precisely because of the weight the name carried that she felt hollow inside. Should she bear that name when she could not even defeat her enemies?

Should she bear the title of a god when she was still attached to the battles of lower beings?

"Oh, dear..." The man sighed, looking down at Star with a fond gaze. With one of his hands in his pockets, he walked over to her.

His shoes did not burn upon coming in contact with the lava. He walked upon the surface casually until he was standing right before the kneeling Star.

He gazed down at her with a soft look, like a big brother looking at his little sister.

"Tell me, Star, what is making you so sad?" He asked as he leaned down.

His other free hand moved, causing Star to flinch slightly and her eyes to follow his fingers. This person was a very dangerous being after all, even though he was considered to be a peaceful type.

A peaceful god was still a god, and all gods were dangerous.

However, the man did not move his hands to do anything violent, he only put them into the inner pocket compartment of his blazer to pull out a white piece of cloth.

The cloth was clean, having been cut into a square shape. He handed it to Star for her to wipe her face.

How caring, one would assume.

Looking at the cloth, Star did not reject it. Her hands, which were still dripping with cooling lava, were raised to collect the cloth.

Easily, she cleaned off the lava and wiped her face with it. Her face was clean, her hands were clean.

She held the cloth in one hand and stood up from the floor. Her legs were still submerged in the lava but her spirit was lifted.

"You’re not giving me that back, are you?" The man asked, eyeing the cloth still in her hand.

"If you want to take it, can I stop you?" Star asked. Then, she flicked her fingers and caused the cloth to disappear. It was an extraordinary piece of cloth for sure.

It cleaned up the lava and her burning tears without even getting hot.

The man sighed. Now that Star was standing, he could look at her without having to bend his head.

"I know what he asked you to do," Mortality said, tilting his head and wearing a very solemn expression on his face.

"And you didn’t assist me?" Star looked away. The gods had a habit of knowing about things they shouldn’t know, it wasn’t a surprise.

"There was no point, besides. I was thinking of offering something better," Mortality said, putting his other hand in his pocket and wearing a smile on his face.

Star narrowed her eyes, "What?"

Mortality chuckled, "In the process of all this chaos that has been happening, some opportunities have opened up, my dear.

Let’s just say that your doors to Divine Salvation are not closed, not yet.

On the contrary, the doors are wide open..."
