Reincarnated As The Heroes Guide

Chapter 203: To Place The Dungeon

The two dungeons that the city currently had were on opposite sides of the Academy grounds, so Kalli wasn’t sure where she should put the next one.

She could put it on a different side of the grounds from the others, so that the dungeons wouldn’t create a crowd. But it would also make it more difficult to find and organize groups if there was no organized gathering spot for those looking to do a dungeon run.

Soon, they would need to start sending people through the level 3 goblin dungeon so that they could see what sorts of items it dropped. And to build up the levels and combat experience of the new heroes.

The problem was that everyone had a full schedule with the trials, and needed all the rest that they could manage.

If they started exhausting even the lowest level of their members, they could end up in danger when things inevitably went wrong. The heroes had so little faith that the system would keep to a schedule that they had all started going to bed as soon as the sun went down so that they would be decently rested at midnight.

If nothing happened, they went back to bed.

If something did, at least they were prepared.

The heroes who had just come from the Arks also had very limited practical combat experience, so Kalli thought that it might actually be good for them to run a few dungeons together in groups, just to get used to working as a cohesive team in a real-world scenario, not whatever training they had done on the Ark.

They also needed to catch up on the workout quests, but they had been doing those already. Just not with the level of dedication that she had instilled into the heroes in the city.

The heroes from the Arks all had a bit of softness to them that hadn’t faded yet. That was missing from almost all the residents of Marimgar, thanks to the quests. Even those who had been rather nerdy or chubby to begin with were quite well-built now, and the only ones who weren’t were the ones who didn’t rate level 0 or higher.

The Goblin Dungeon had formed in the back of the academy, a rather inconvenient spot to put anything else, or even to gather. However, she had placed the other one near the academy gates, inside the academy walls.

Putting the next one on the other side of the gate would create a natural gathering spot, and it was only a few dozen metres from the Hall of Heroes, so they could see both from inside.

Knowing how everyone loved to gossip, that was a distinct advantage.

{Dungeon Portal Placed}

{New Dungeon Created} March of the Ogres

{Level 10 Dungeon Active} Maximum 10 party members

"Oh, that’s shiny," Sanchez announced from outside the building. "Ten people, and level ten. That should have pretty good loot. Even if it’s not rare grade, it’ll be level ten, and that will make it worth having, I think.

If nothing else, we’ll be able to turn it in at the machine and stock the city with raw materials.

I saw some of the factories and shops that are going up now, and you’re about to get hammered with requests for materials. We might not have long before the next waves start, but everyone wants to give their new skills a try."

"Are you going to gather a team to give it a try? It’s supposed to be full of Ogres, so it is bound to be a challenge without using the heavy guns."

Sanchez nodded. "We are. The others just need a few minutes to rearrange their schedule. You’re not going to drop any more surprises on us are you?"

Kalli laughed. "Well, I’ve got one more dungeon portal sitting in my inventory, but now that I’ve seen how good this one is, I’m considering holding off for a bit, to see if we can make a level fifteen one at the end of this trial."

The soldier walked inside and placed his hands on both of her shoulders.

"You know, you don’t have to make things as challenging as possible for us. You can go easy on the heroes once in a while. Maybe give us a nice easy level five dungeon full of boars or something that will generate massive amounts of food.

That’s not too much to ask, is it?"

Kalli laughed. "Unfortunately for you, the System randomizes the dungeons. So, there’s no telling what we’re going to get, but I have a feeling it might be tied to the level of the heroes in the city."

"Then, shouldn’t this one have been weaker? We just got all those level four and five heroes from the Arks. That should have bumped down the average."

"And what level are you?" Kalli retorted.

"Level fourteen. But that’s not the point. A dungeon full of Ogres is just raw materials. Think bacon. We need more meat in the diet. Only two of the patrol groups even stopped to fish, and neither of them came back with much."

Kalli chuckled. They had not come back with much because they only went for half an hour, landed two large fish and returned to their duties.

"We can send out fishermen in the morning if there are no changes to the schedule. We’re on day four of seven, so we should have two more days while the other survivors finish their trials.

Then we find out what the System is going to do to us on the day of rest."

Sanchez patted her on the head and laughed. "It’s good to know that we’re on the same page. The System is definitely going to do something on the last day, and my money is on it giving us a final boss type monster, just to remind us not to let our guard down."

"My vote is for a bonus mystery box. I think that it will give us a bonus for being so good at our jobs. Then troll Reggie with nutrient bars."

"HEY! Don’t you curse me like that!"

The warrior’s voice came from the door as the patrol group returned to give their report.

"This is pure bullying. Shouldn’t I at least get a bubble tea as compensation for my mental suffering? First, you made me ride with Yara driving, now you’re cursing me to Nutrient Bars.

That definitely deserves compensation."
