Return of the Mythic Bloodline

Chapter 580: Launching the Control Room.

Now that she mentioned it, the star-shaped structure really did look similar to the spaceship he had seen in the memories from the symbol. It had taken him some time to recognise it because the actual size of the spaceship was gigantic compared to the diagram.

"So where is it?" Maximilian asked, his index finger twitching with excitement.

"It is at the centre of the Riftlands, twenty thousand kilometres deeper than both the upper and lower realms," Evangeline revealed in a calm tone.

The excitement instantly vanished from Maximilian’s face.

"Even Father could not move deeper than fifteen thousand kilometres," Maximilian sighed. "With my current realm, I only managed to reach eight thousand kilometres deeper because Wukong helped me defeat the Rank-Seven death demons. But that is already my limit. Any further, and the death energy becomes too overwhelming, even for me."

"Your worries are needless, My Lord." Evangeline shook her head, the corner of her lips raised in a confident smile. "You don’t need to take us there. AINOS will."

"Eh?" Maximilian raised an eyebrow in confusion.

"The control room didn’t break away from the main spaceship," Evangeline revealed. "It was deliberately detached by the previous master. When we restored one percent of the Control Room’s energy, I asked AINOS to locate the main body. However, its navigation system was corrupted for some reason. I spent several weeks debugging the system, pinpointing all the errors, fixing them, and running multiple diagnostics."

Most of the words Evangeline said were completely alien to Maximilian. They seemed similar to the strange words AINOS used when he spoke with the AI. This only made him realise the hard work Evangeline had put into fixing this control room. She had not only learned knowledge that didn’t even exist in Vyoman but had also actually applied that knowledge into practice, and that was just in four months.

"Incredible," Maximilian exclaimed, his jaw dropping. "You can actually control this heavenly-grade artifact to that extent?"

"Well, AINOS will be the one doing the controlling," Evangeline shrugged. "I just need to press a button."

The look of astonishment on Maximilian’s face was completely worth the four months Evangeline had spent keeping this discovery from him.

"Do you have anything to say, My Lord?" Evangeline asked, looking up at him with expectant eyes.

Maximilian nodded as he declared, "I can proudly say that I’m married to the smartest woman in Vyoman."

"And?" Evangeline asked, shifting on his lap.

"And she happens to be the cutest as well."

"And-and," she asked, her eyes expecting something more, something that he hadn’t said until now.

"And... she has beautiful big breasts that I can barely keep myself from groping," he blurted out, his inner thoughts coming out instinctively.

"Wh-where are your manners!?" Evangeline exclaimed, her face turning beet red as her hands flew to her chest. "You just had to ruin the moment."

She was about to get up from his lap when he held her back, grabbing her by the waist.

"There was no lie in my words, though," Maximilian whispered into her pointy ear, causing her whole body to squirm.

"Keep those dirty thoughts away," Evangeline muttered, accepting his hug. "Focus on reaching the Celestial Realm first."

"Can I do it after that?" he asked playfully.

"What happened to you, My Lord?" Evangeline asked, turning on his lap to face him, her voice laced with concern. "You were mischievous, but you used to be so lovely. When did you become such a pervert?"

"Which one do you prefer more?" Maximilian asked her, moving his fingers softly over her cheeks.

A brief silence followed. Slowly, Evangeline grabbed his dark horns with both hands and whispered in a barely audible tone, "The one you currently are."

Before Maximilian could respond, Evangeline leaned closer and kissed him on the lips.

"You may do whatever you want once we reach the Celestial Realm, My Lord~"

The sudden kiss and the unexpected words sent jolts through Maximilian’s whole body. For a few seconds, he couldn’t even respond properly, frozen in place like an idiot.

Evangeline turned, facing the screen again, her eyes rolling as the realisation of what she had just said in the heat of the moment dawned on her. ’I-I said it. I really said it. And I didn’t even hesitate once. Wh-what if he thinks I’m a lewd woman? I-I should clear this misunderstanding this instant.’

She was about to speak when Maximilian declared, his eyes burning with newly found resolve, "W-well then, let’s get this thing moving."

’Perhaps it’s better this way,’ Evangeline sighed inwardly, having never seen Maximilian more motivated before.

"AINOS, prepare for a launch towards the spaceship," Evangeline ordered, her voice turning serious.

Initialising the command...

Setting the coordinates...

Scanning the surroundings...

Alert! The Control Room is buried beneath the rocks. Launching will result in the destruction of the surroundings.

"Doesn’t matter as long as the Control Room remains undamaged," Evangeline replied.

The Control Room is ready to launch. Please give the command.

Evangeline’s gaze shifted to Wukong, who was sitting cross-legged on the floor. "Wukong, hold on to something tight."

Wukong’s eyes shot open, confusion clear on his face. "What’s going on?" he asked, rising to his feet.

"You will know soon," Evangeline replied, pressing the launch button on the screen.

On the curved wall in front of them, several cracks appeared as it began splitting apart.

Maximilian didn’t waste a second, instantly covering them in a barrier of death lightning.

However, the wall wasn’t breaking as they had thought. They realised it when the cracks on the wall began moving downward, as if the rocks were falling. It was only when the Control Room tore through the mountain and reached the air that they realised the front wall was actually made of glass. The cracks were on the debris of the rock outside.

"It moved up, and we didn’t even feel the slightest bump," Maximilian gasped, shock clear on his face.

"Such a level of stabilisation is unheard of," Evangeline added, equally shocked. "I must learn the technology used to make this..."

Her words stopped mid-sentence as the scenery before them suddenly changed in the blink of an eye. It was as if they saw streaks of light passing by them before everything turned still.

We have reached the destination. Reattaching the Control Room to the spaceship.

"Already?!" both Maximilian and Evangeline exclaimed in bewilderment.
