Return of the Mythic Bloodline

Chapter 584: Reaching the Celestial Realm

Inside the room where Maximilian was cultivating, all the death-demon cores had been absorbed into the gem at his chest.

The still liquid in the room began shaking, and the air grew heavy with anticipation.

Breakthrough detected inside Cultivation Room A. Activating safety protocols...

AINOS’s mechanical voice echoed. The ceiling of the room shifted, turning into nanoparticles that absorbed into the side walls. In its place, a blue, translucent barrier remained, preventing the death energy from pouring into the room.

The moment the ceiling opened, a pillar of dark energy erupted from Maximilian’s body. It passed through the ceiling and the grey mist covering the Riftlands, reaching all the way into the open blue sky, where it spread outward like a gigantic curtain, covering hundreds of kilometres in every direction. Several stars and galaxies were visible within the dark energy. It was as if the atmosphere of Vyoman had been torn apart, revealing the cosmos above.

Before the energy could scatter any further, Maximilian’s hands moved through a series of hand signs. The lid of the jade bottle, the only remaining material, opened. A crystalline white drop came out from within. It entered Maximilian’s mouth and reached his dantian.

The Heaven’s Tear was needed to provide the energy required to absorb the Soulforce released into the surroundings back to its source.

The dark energy from the sky began converging, slowly returning to his body.

Dhun... dha... dhun...

Dhun... dha... dhun...

Dhun... dha... dhun...

The deep reverberation of his heart echoed through the two realms like unstoppable waves. The cultivators who were at the Celestial Realm or above felt this extraordinary phenomenon.

---

"C-cough-cough... d-do y-you hear th-this, Frederick?" the Sovereign asked, his voice barely above a whisper as he lay on his bed, his old, wrinkled face carrying a faint smile.

"Yes, Your Majesty," Frederick replied, standing beside his bed. "The Prince’s breakthrough has reverberated the heavenly drums. That means he has the chance to reach the Divine Ascendant Realm."

"Ha-haha, no one will be able to u-usurp the throne from my son," the Sovereign chuckled. "I-I can die peacefully now."

---

Once all the released Soulforce had returned to Maximilian’s body, he slowly opened his eyes, the reverberations of his heartbeat vanishing.

The veil of grey mist covered the air again, and the ceiling of the spaceship enclosed itself.

Congratulations on your breakthrough, Master.

The cheerful mechanical voice of AINOS echoed.

"Thanks, AINOS," Maximilian murmured, his lips carrying a faint smile as he looked at himself. Everything seemed the same from the outside, but he could feel it. In his fists, he carried the strength to level a country.

"While I’m at it, I should also create the seventy-two swords," he decided, taking out the body of the nine-headed lion from his storage pouch.

The Seventy-Two Sword Formation that he had learned from one of the chambers in the control room was a terrifying sword technique. It could be used both offensively and defensively, with each sword capable of moving individually or in perfect sync with the others. It contained countless different formations that could be used for trapping, injuring, or killing an opponent.

The materials required for its formation were also simple. They needed to contain a Soulforce nature similar to that of the wielder.

As a Dragon of Death himself, the body of a Rank Seven death demon was the perfect material.

With a series of hand signs, the massive body of the lion transformed into numerous small particles, revolving in multiple rings around Maximilian at different heights.

The particles slowly gathered together, taking the shape of similar-looking, sharp longswords.

Two weeks later...

All the Seventy-Two swords had been forged, their black blades burning with dark, ominous flames. Only the last step remained.

From his forehead, Maximilian pulled out a drop of his essence blood and threw it towards one of the swords. The blood was absorbed into its blade. The dark flames covering it vanished, and instead, bolts of Death Lightning began flickering along its surface. The other swords merged into it, becoming whole.

Maximilian rose to his feet and grabbed the hilt of the hovering sword. As he swung it, several swords followed the motion before merging with it.

He pointed the blade forward and moved it in a vertical circle. The swords split from it, taking the form of a ring along its motion. With just a thought, all the swords shot forward, moving in perfect sync as they whistled through the room before returning to the sword in his hand.

"Perfect," Maximilian said, his lips rising in satisfaction. "With this blade in my hand, no cultivator at the Early Stage of the Celestial Realm can defeat me. I will name this Vajra."

He put the blade back into his storage pouch and took out a couple of scriptures that he had taken from the chambers of the control room.

The scripture he decided to read first was titled Bindings of Hell.

Until now, he could only decipher a fraction of this broken technique. But at the Celestial Realm, he could understand it clearly.

The chains materialized by this technique didn’t merely bind the opponent. They could freeze the very time of anyone or anything who came into contact with them.

---

Three days later...

Maximilian grabbed the empty bottle that had contained the Heaven’s Tear and threw it towards the liquid covering the floor.

Just as the dense liquid splashed out from the impact, Maximilian whispered in a commanding tone, "Freeze!"

Everything froze inside the room. The splashed liquid stopped in its motion, the water droplets suspended mid-air, while the bottle was left half-submerged in the liquid.

"Release!"

Splash!

The drops fell back into the liquid, the bottle sinking into it.

"With this technique, I can even momentarily freeze opponents at the same level," Maximilian gasped, his brows rising.

His curious gaze shifted to the next scripture, which had Art of Complete Transformation written on it.

This technique was easier to learn. The only reason he hadn’t learned it until now was because he couldn’t find any use for it.

But now, this was about to become his key to escaping the Riftlands.

"A technique that can completely transform a dragon into a human, even masking their Soulforce signature," he read the description with an amused smile.
