Guy

“Easy now…let’s not make any more bad decisions.” My hands were open in front of me as I stepped back slowly. The wolf in front of me looked to be the same one from Wyatt’s family tree I bet. That makes us family, right?

It growled every time I even glanced at Beacon. If it wasn’t as big as a horse, I might have been fine trying to subdue it. But what if I kill it? Wyatt would probably be upset but Noa? Oh, he’d hate my ass for sure. We might be going through things as a group but I still care about them.

I have to care enough about myself too!

Leaping out of the way of its attack, I used my super speed to get into Beacon's front doors. I scanned the living area, zoomed past the dorms and stood in front of the basement entrance.

But I still couldn’t escape the growls behind me. That thing was hot on my trail and If I wanted even a moment of peace to do the unholy act I needed to do, confronting it was my only option.

“You might not have super speed but you’re still pretty fast.” I said, turning around to face it in the narrow dark hallway bathed in an ominous red glow.

Its amber eyes were trained on me. I stooped low, ready to pounce. I’m surprised that thing could even fit in here.

Cupping my hand, I wiggled my finger’s at it, taunting it.

“Come on big boy, I ain’t got all day.” That did it. It moved but I wasn’t prepared for how it moved. The wolf bounced off of the walls like a ping-pong ball.

“Shit—” though I stopped it from biting me, it tackled me hard enough to put me through a wall, straight into Wyatt's lab. I must have crashed into something experimental because the next thing I know; an explosion goes off.

“Great. Now there’s a hole in the lab and I’m no closer to the garden!”  Another howl and this time I sped behind it, grabbing it by the tail. Play time is over.

“Sit, boy!”

Its whines did nothing to me as I slammed it against the ground like a caveman slams a big stick. He was still moving, like that slam annoyed him instead of hurting him. One won’t be enough. I slammed it again and again, not stopping until I saw blood finally. Its leg twitched, so I let go of its tail.

I felt bad. Trying to examine it was a mistake I won’t make again because it nearly tore my head off.

“Playing weak and vulnerable? Damn, you’re crafty.” Short clipped breaths escaped its maw.

“You’re laughing at me? Asshole.” I smirked, wracking my brain on how to deal with this thing

I took a moment to scan my surroundings, praying for something that could help me win to just magically appear.

Because that's how life works obviously.

The Beast launched at me again bouncing from wall to table and back again but I super sped out the way.

“Listen I don't know who your owner is, but I don't have time to play a game of tag with you.”

My eyes landed on a cabinet with a hazardous symbol on it. If the goddess favors me at all, there will be something in this cabinet that can help me.

I super sped over there praying the whole way and when I opened it there was only one bucket with the lid in there. I grabbed the bucket, waited for my chance, and when he leapt at me again I moved out of the way just like normal, and then I ripped open the bucket and dumped whatever was inside all over the wolf.

At first nothing happened but then it started whining and howling like someone was stabbing it. But then as I watched it skin and fur sizzle with smoke rising ever so slightly I realized; I threw acid on it.

Oh hell, they're going to kill me. It started to regenerate.

Oh, okay maybe it's not that bad. This actually might be a good thing, if it's healing it can't fight at full strength. Before I could even finish that thought, it swiped at my face and this time it hit hard.

“Shit!” I pressed the hand to my cheek and glared at it.

“Ah hell, you've done it now! That was the side my future wife smacked and now her handprint is all gone. Did you know I had no intention of washing this cheek?”

The only response it gave was a dry snort.

“Well fuck you too buddy!”

Even though the hit shocked me, mainly because I was distracted, it was easy to tell that its movements were sluggish now. It’s swaying from side to side, barely able to step in a straight line.

It's probably going to use up all its energy trying to regenerate while also trying to fight me.

It gave me another idea. This one is much more feasible. At least I hoped it was feasible. When it left again I didn’t even need my super speed. I just rolled out the way and while it was trying to balance itself, something that was much more difficult now than it was before thanks to the acid, I leapt onto its back.

Wrapping my arms around its neck,I held it far too tight. I was trying to choke this thing out with just the right amount of pressure.

It's the only non-murderous thing I can think of right now to get it out my way. This thing bucked me like it was trying to send me to the moon.

But I held on for dear life, determined to win this. Because I had a mission, just like Wyatt; I had to take care of my mate. And right now this thing was in the way.

It thrashed, making me tear down another wall. The room was completely trashed. Probably took around 2 minutes for it to stop thrashing and finally hit the ground.

This time I kicked it for good measure. No tricks, I don't have time for that. When it didn’t move, I dusted myself off and gave myself a pat on the back.

“Who’s the Guy? I'm that Guy! Hell yeah!” The little happy dance I’d started was quickly interrupted by a familiar yet pissed off voice.

“Oh, you're that guy all right.”

My blood ran cold as a familiar voice spoke menacingly behind me. I turned around to see Noa and Wyatt looking up at me from the ground floor through the giant hole in the wall. They could see me but worst of all they could see the wolf in its awful state.

Better play it off.

“Oh now you two decided to show up? Where were you 5 minutes ago when this thing was trying to turn me into a chewtoy?”

“Trying to get information about my body.”

Wyatt responded.

“And you better hope you haven't ruined it.”

“Yeah, I need that body just as much as he does.” Noa added.

I squinted at them both confused as fuck.

“What do you mean ruined it? Your body's not up here.”

Noah and Wyatt both pointed at the wolf. I turn around and look at it, throat turning dryer than the desert as I watch the fur and the wounds give way to a very damaged and tired looking person.

At first I thought I was in for it…but as the man softly groaned, I sighed with relief and confusion. He’s alive at least and the complexion is right but—

“Hey guys? Pretty sure this ain’t Wyatt’s body up here.”
