Chapter 1380: Chapter 1480: He Left...

"Adrian Walyon, are you done yet?" What answered him was a throw pillow that Summer Sutton grabbed off the sofa and chucked at him.

"What did I do? What do you mean, am I done yet?" Watt Bennet acted like he didn’t understand her, whistling as he headed upstairs.

As soon as he left, the air seemed to clear up a lot all of a sudden.

Summer Sutton picked up the remote at random. She’d only meant to watch the news for a few minutes before going to make dinner, and just as the TV flicked on, the news happened to be reporting something about the Walyon Family.

It was a news segment on Old Master Walyon being hospitalized—his blood pressure had suddenly spiked during the day and he’d passed out; he was currently in the hospital undergoing emergency treatment.

Even though Summer Sutton wasn’t living with the Walyon Family anymore, Old Master Walyon was still Adrian Walyon’s grandfather, and he was someone who loved Adrian so much. There was no way she could be completely indifferent.

Summer Sutton couldn’t help staring at the news and watching for a while longer.

After she’d watched the whole report, her mind felt a bit tangled and messy.

Grandpa’s sick—should Watt Bennet go back or not?

If he doesn’t go back, there’s no way he’ll be able to stop worrying.

If he does go back, does that mean he’ll have to take some risks?

Summer Sutton was struggling over whether to tell Watt Bennet about it. When she lifted her face, though, her gaze crashed right into a figure upstairs.

Watt Bennet was standing at the second-floor landing, leaning quietly against the railing, his eyes fixed in the direction of the TV.

She didn’t know when he’d come out. Judging from the expression on his face, he’d probably heard the entire news report.

Summer Sutton watched him quietly, studying his reaction.

Watt Bennet just silently gazed toward the TV the whole time, not saying a word.

Summer Sutton couldn’t see any ripple of emotion on his face, but she knew that with something like this happening, there was no way he could be completely unmoved.

Back when they were still with the Walyon Family, Watt Bennet had bickered with Old Master Walyon every day, but a grandfather and grandson are still grandfather and grandson. In this world, aside from Bryce Walyon and his wife, Old Master Walyon was the person most closely related to Watt Bennet by blood.

Grandfather and grandson are always grandfather and grandson. No matter how much they quarrel, the love between them runs deep.

Watt Bennet also knew perfectly well why Old Master Walyon’s health had suddenly collapsed and why he’d been so sick these past few months.

It was all because Adrian Walyon left!

"Adrian, what are you going to do?" Summer Sutton asked tentatively.

Watt Bennet was silent for quite a while. When he snapped out of it, his face was still as calm as usual, without a ripple. "Don’t worry about me."

He was only trying to comfort Summer Sutton. As for whether he was going to see Old Master Walyon or not, he didn’t tell her.

How could Summer Sutton not worry about him?

In this world, he had three people closest to him, but to her, he was the only person she was closest to.

If anything ever happened to him, Summer Sutton didn’t think she could get through it the way she had last time with his plane accident.

But when Watt Bennet was handling something, if he didn’t feel like talking, no matter how Summer Sutton asked, he still wouldn’t reveal a thing to her.

Adrian Walyon had always believed that the less she knew, the safer Summer Sutton would be.

Summer Sutton’s mind was a mess, but since Watt Bennet wasn’t willing to say more, she didn’t press him.

She went into the kitchen and simply put together a dinner for the two of them. After they finished eating, she just went upstairs to deal with some work. When she came down at nine, she realized Watt Bennet was gone.

The house was empty, with only her and Unity.

He went after all...

Summer Sutton stood stiffly on the spiral staircase, staring blankly toward the front door, her mind in a daze.
