[SSS-Rank Skill Rewarded]
[(SSS) Crown of Heaven]
~ Type - Light (Radiance)
~ Cooldown - 24 hours
~ A golden crown that hovers above the user’s head. Buffs all attacks made directly with the body with extreme Radiance damage. Also increases the user’s agility by 10 sub-tiers while worn. Lasts for ten minutes.
...
All Kalon could do was stare at the skill in utter shock.
He had seen powerful skills before. Ninefold Sunbreaker was already broken enough, after all.
Not to mention, his passives, Daily Blessing, Formidable Body, and Infinite Elemental Adaptation were all overpowered in their own right.
This skill, however, seemed to fill in a large gap that he was missing.
Crown of Heaven.
Kalon’s current agility was naturally E, an area he was lacking in severely.
Now, with the crown on his head, it would be boosted by 10 sub-tiers, taking him to B+.
Then, on days that he was lucky enough to have his Daily Blessing boost his agility by another 7 sub-tiers, with the Crown of Heaven also activated...
"SS-Rank Agility..." he said beneath his breath.
He would be wielding speed that was practically unimaginable to the world.
Even the top ten ranked fighters, most of whom existed outside of the United Kingdom, would see that as top-class speed.
The thought alone sent shivers through Kalon’s body.
I wonder what I would look like with the crown on my head...
He had the desire to activate the skill, but part of him also wanted to wait for the right moment.
The suspense would keep him in a constant mood of excitement.
...
Kalon woke up the next day feeling stronger than ever.
His Daily Blessing was currently boosting his naturally D+ mana to A-.
This was one of the more useless blessings that he could be given, as until his mana was naturally in the S-Ranks at least, he would continue to need the Ring of Skill Bridging.
It did, however, allow him to use his skills more naturally.
...
As he walked towards his first lesson, he realised something.
It was the first time he had been back at school since the mock battles that happened on Friday.
That meant that he wasn’t prepared for the difference in the way he would be treated.
When the professor of the first lesson addressed the class, he now looked at Kalon as well, which he never seemed to do before.
Normally, he would be ignored, unless it was related to bullying.
As for those bullies... he had no interactions with them until lunchtime.
Kalon still sat alone in the first-year cafeteria with his basic meal plan.
Despite all the followers he had, he still hadn’t taken on a sponsorship, so he was broke.
The basic meal plan would have to do for now.
He was busy squirting some protein paste into his mouth when he heard heavy footsteps approaching him.
"I’m sorry for what I did..."
Kalon turned towards the voice.
Standing over him was the giant, chubby Brandon Brookhouse. One of Daniel Forest’s friends, and the first bully he had fought back against.
It was the first time the boy had shown his face at school since he had his ribs broken on the rooftop.
It seemed that now, he wasn’t being accepted back into his friend group.
He had embarrassed them, after all.
The boy looked down at the floor and struggled to meet Kalon’s eyes.
He felt bad for him, sort of. Perhaps it was his Radiant Soul.
But for some reason, he felt no desire to forgive or help the young man.
If Kalon hadn’t fucked him up, he would be receiving no apology.
Everything would be the same.
The boy would still see him as a victim.
A creature.
Kalon could tell that a lot of eyes were on the pair. They had been waiting to see how Kalon would react to his bullies, now that he had changed.
He let Brandon stand in front of him for a few moments with his head low.
He needed to feel this shame.
Eventually, he responded.
"I acknowledge your apology, but I won’t forgive you."
Brandon looked up at him gradually with a sad look on his face.
Then he nodded slightly.
"I... can accept that."
"You have no choice, unfortunately."
Brandon nodded again, stunned, and didn’t dare answer back.
In the distance, Kalon could hear laughter coming from a table.
It belonged to Richard, Daniel, and their friend group.
Kalon felt rage brewing from somewhere deep inside him. This time, he felt certain that it was because of his Radiant Soul.
"Brandon."
He spoke before the chubby young man could leave.
Brandon turned back with raised brows.
"Y-yeah?"
"Those guys that are laughing at you... they’ll get what’s coming to them one day. Richard, Daniel, and the lot of them."
The words hung in the air for a few moments.
Brandon seemed to resonate with them deeply.
"Alright," was all he said before finding a seat in the corner of the room and eating alone.
...
Kalon finished the rest of his meal in a foul mood.
It made the protein paste and soup taste worse.
Just as he downed the last spoonful, he was approached again. This time, by a prettier student.
"You know, if you ask the headmaster, he’ll probably upgrade your meal plan for you."
Kalon looked up and suddenly saw Thea Bluegale sitting across the table from him.
This drew even more eyes from the crowd.
She was the only one who had shown any sort of care for Kalon before his newfound fame, so it made sense that she would be the only one he accepted afterwards.
Kalon smiled at the blue-haired beauty, whose hair was straightened down to her shoulders today.
She wore a bit of makeup, giving her a natural blush and an even more refined look.
As she sat, her chin was propped on both hands while her elbows rested on the table.
"I prefer the basic meal plan," Kalon winked. "It keeps me humble."
He heard chatter going around the room.
Since when was Kalon so smooth at speaking to women? they wondered.
Is it a trait that comes with a fire affinity? they asked themselves.
Thea laughed at his statement before the bell for the next lesson rang.
Afterwards, the students pushed themselves to their feet and began leaving.
Thea went to return to her friend group, but before she left, she asked...
"Will we train together soon?"
Kalon didn’t even need to think before answering.
The words came naturally.
"Of course. Last time I got to see you drenched in sweat and water, so I could never turn that offer down."
